El Retiro Park is just an eight-minute cycle from your door, and there's plenty of public transport close by for visiting the must-see sights and cultural hotspots.

Located near Goya, Evita will bring you into an authentic, beautiful neighbourhood, only minutes away from Retiro Park. The nearby buildings, which you can see from the comfort of your huge bay windows, boast typical townhouse decoration, and there are lots of fantastic cafes nearby. Although this house is simply decorated, every item feels like it's in the right place, creating a coherent modern look. Aside from the natural light in the communal area, we really enjoyed the cosy study between the bedrooms.

A visit to Madrid is always a good idea, but staying in Salamanca is a great one. This stylish home boasts an enviable location in Madrid’s most prestigious quarter, right in the middle of the action. 

You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to drinking, dining and shopping, and you can zip around on the metro effortlessly – the nearest station is just one block away from this apartment. In the morning, grab a coffee and watch the world go by in Marqués de Salamanca Square, soaking up the atmosphere of this incredible city. In the evening, hop from one bar to the next and sample tapas as you go. 
If busy days of shopping and seeing the city sights leave you craving the great outdoors, stroll seventeen minutes to El Retiro Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rent a bike to explore the park and find the perfect picnic spot.  

There’s a wealth of activity right on your doorstep, but this apartment’s chilled vibe and stylish yet comfortable style mean that you can easily relax and recharge here. It’s the perfect base for a city break.

Although this home is slightly further away from the most important sights, Plaza Mayor is still within easy reach by metro. Instead, this home is only a short walk away from Retiro, Madrid's largest park–well-suited for someone who appreciates a quieter neighbourhood. The Peacock and the Steed has is an eclectic home that mixes minimalist design in the kitchen and living room with more classical influences in the bedroom. Our favourite is the freestanding bath and the original hydraulic tiles from the seventies.

Then, why not stop for a coffee or a bite to eat in one of the park’s open-air cafes before continuing with the rest of your plans.

Utilise the great public transport links and visit the Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace, both of which can be reached in twenty to thirty minutes. Or, stay closer to home to peruse the many art galleries in the area which can be reached in as little as four minutes by foot. 

In the late afternoon, why not take a reinvigorating siesta or relax on the internal balcony – which opens up via French doors from the living space – and offers not only a delightfully bright place to enjoy the views but also shelters you from the elements on rainy days. 

At dinner time, we would love nothing more than to go on a Spanish tapas tour of the local bars –which can be reached in as little as twelve minutes on foot. Then, wind down for the day as you kick back and relax on the designer furnishings and enjoy the salon’s full entertainment system.

We challenge you to find a prettier apartment overlooking the Royal Palace of Madrid. This place is a real showstopper, with twin Juliet balconies opening over Plaza de Oriente Gardens. Bold, bright and just downright beautiful, it's dripping in character thanks to ornate cornice, traditional shuttered windows and classical furnishing. A riot of elegant colours and patterns, it couldn't be further from modern minimalism if it tried.

Once you've arrived and stared out of the window for long enough to take it all in, choose between the two pretty bedrooms – one decorated in calming greens, the other in vibrant terracotta. There's a grand, open-plan living space to keep everything sociable, and a kitchen with everything you'll need for cooking at home. But we suspect you'll be eating out much of the time – it would be rude not to when surrounded by some of the best cafes and restaurants in the city. And with most of the major attractions on your doorstep too, you'll have plenty to see and do.

This sophisticated Spanish abode can be found on a quiet street in Madrid’s historic centre. The living room is bright and modern, with Scandistyle furnishings, boho cushions and a family dining table. Spend your days trawling Madrid’s stylish boutiques, sipping coffee on bustling squares and visiting vibrant art galleries. In the evenings, it’s all about the tapas and bar culture – with more drinking establishments than any other city on the planet, you won’t know where to begin first.

Molten Brass is neat and tidy. There isn’t a lot that jumps out at you, but that’s not necessarily a problem – the atmosphere inside is pretty calm. That stands in contrast to the atmosphere on the street below, which is pretty intense, but that’s because you’re in the heart of Malasaña, so there’s tonnes to do. As is common with any flat that is rented out all the time, there’s a lack of personality but the attention to detail, and generally pleasant, if simple, design help make the flat feel more homely.
