This farmhouse has been renovated in such a way that it has retained its unique rural character while still getting to call itself a holiday home fit for the twenty-first century. Mallorquin both within and without, it’s built in the classic blonde stone of the area and filled with traditional dark wood furnishings, wrought iron beds and classic Mediterranean tiled floors. Spend your days lazing by the pleasingly large pool, enjoying long lunches on the covered terrace, and exploring some of the gorgeous local beaches — the sands of Cala D’Or are just 13 minutes away by car. We love the open-plan layout of the main living room, kitchen and dining area, which flows freely with sleek, contemporary designs and plush, comfortable furniture. Upstairs is just as dreamy as cloud-like bedrooms featuring en-suite bathrooms and private balconies that invite guests to enjoy the sun set from an elevated position in pure seclusion. 

Beyond the realms of this gorgeous space, explore the local village of Felanitx and its bars, restaurants, supermarkets and cafes. Beach bums are in luck here, too, as some of the island's most iconic beaches (Cala Llombards, Cala Monfrago and Cala D'Or are situated just fifteen to twenty--five minutes away on the eastern coastline.

While sunbathing, hiking, and sailing are most certainly on the cards on this sun-soaked island, some of us are simply looking for a rural, isolated escape. That’s where this home comes in. Although just a ten-minute drive from the nearest town of Felanitx, this inland oasis feels a world away from everyone.

As you approach the home, it gives off a rustic, farmhouse vibe with a traditional look. Honey-coloured stone, wooden shutters, and a terracotta roof are everything you might expect, but the reality is closer to modern luxury. The outdoor area feels more VIP than rural life – palm trees and delicate native flowers line the perimeter, creating a green wall around four-poster sun loungers, multiple terraces, an outdoor grill, shady verandahs, hammocks, and a swimming pool. We love this vast, maze-like space, where you can chase the sun to keep finding secret spots and hidden corners to sip Mallorcan wine. 

As the sun goes down, you might head inside to get cosy beneath traditional wooden beams, or beside the wood-burning stove. With vintage trinkets and an eclectic mix of art in gilded frames, this home feels more like a quirky museum – a wonderfully unique stay on a wonderfully unique island.

This single-level retreat outside Felanitx puts the Mallorcan countryside at your fingertips. Two of the en-suite bedrooms lead straight to the garden, so you'll only be a few steps away from the island's endless sunshine. The private swimming pool is sure to be a hit – especially since the nearest beach is an 18-kilometre drive – while the covered terrace is just the ticket come dinnertime. Inside, wooden beams add some character to the otherwise breezy living area. We think there's a decent amount of space here for a family or small group of friends. But, when you fancy exploring, private parking means you can hop in a car and set off with ease.

Located in the southeast corner of Mallorca – this country house has beautiful grounds. You’ll find fruit trees, a large private swimming pool and extensive sun terraces with beautiful rural landscape vistas of fields and rolling hillsides covered with fir, olive, almond and palm trees. The home is located just a ten-minute drive from Felanitx with its weekly market, while it’s the same travel time to Porto Colom's numerous waterfront cafes and beaches. Golfers will be glad to know that there’s a course 14 kilometres away too.

With several fantastic places to catch the sun, including by the large pool and on one of the terrace areas, this home is the perfect escape for a group of friends or an extended family. With an ensuite for every room and all that space, you won't encroach on one another, while still enjoying ample opportunity to come together to dine and connect. We especially like the shaded al fresco area and the Mediterranean garden. You're also a short drive away from the beach – perfect for a day trip.

When you are ready to explore the area, you’ll find an array of restaurants, bars and shops in Portocolom, as well as beaches such as Cala Marcal.

Fun and games can be found in the dedicated games room, dinner can seemingly take place in a different dining room each night, and several of the bedrooms gaze out over the ocean. Speaking of bedrooms, with twenty to choose from, and a maximum capacity of forty guests, you're bound to find the right one for you. The cellars double up as event spaces, with moody backlighting and a team who can bring the place to life. The team are also on hand if you want to organise an outside party, with different packages available. For those who fancy the DIY approach, two barbecues are ready for evening feasts. After dinner, let the views from the rooftop terrace do the entertaining with drinks as the sun sets over the ocean.

This rural home, comprising a main house and another one-bedroom villa is perfect for those seeking a peaceful and authentic holiday in Mallorca. There are covered terraces, fruit trees, a pool, hammocks, and a 'chill-out' style bar area with sofas and a large table for alfresco meals. Decorated in the classic Mallorcan rural style, some may find this place a bit dated in parts, but if that doesn't worry you, there's plenty to explore out and about. It’s 5 kilometres from the town of Porreres, where you can find restaurants on the pretty square and a weekly market every Tuesday.

The Romance of Majorca

With marina views and modern decor, this bright apartment in the resort town of Portocolom is an ideal base for those looking for a slice of the Mallorcan good life. 

Slide open the open-plan living area’s glass doors and step out onto the private balcony – the ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee or evening sundowner while watching the yachts sail in and out of the marina. If you can peel yourself away from this paradise, the charming village of Calonge offering shops, bars and restaurants, is twenty-three minutes away on foot or six minutes by car. If you want to escape for a bit of romance, take a trip to Castillo de Santueri, a short drive away from home, or hire a boat cruise around the Med for the day. Laid-back and unfussy Mallorca allows you to explore as much or little as you wish.

When it comes to uninterrupted sea views, it doesn’t get much better than those offered from this home. Occupying a privileged spot on the cliffs of Cala Murada, this is the ideal setting for a refreshing coastal escape. Take your pick from multiple terraces, enjoy lazy days by the pool and restorative sessions in the home sauna and jacuzzi. And while this all sounds like the perfect adults-only escape, it’s also a great option for families with child-friendly amenities available on request and the nearest beach just a short walk away. 


Floating In the Sunshine

A personal introduction to the home and a bottle of olive oil made from the surrounding groves welcome you to this huge home in the Mallorcan countryside. Within the 25,000 square metres of land, you’ll find fruit trees, olive groves and a huge lawn for a sense of isolation and space. The swimming pool in the heart of the gardens has a view over the famous vineyards of Pere Seda – perhaps enjoy a glass of your ultra-local wine at the big dining table on the first-floor balcony, or at the poolside dining area. Wicker sofas and rocking chairs on the veranda add a rustic feel, overlooking the fields and orchards to the misty mountains beyond. 

With the home, you’ve got two kitchens to choose from. One leads out to the poolside barbecue terrace, making the shuttling of salads and sauces a breeze. The second kitchen leads onto the second dining terrace outside and opens up to a huge indoor dining room big enough for the whole group. You’ve also got two sitting rooms to choose from – a main lounge set around a cast-iron fireplace and a second sitting room with direct access to the terrace. We love the ornate headboards in the bedrooms – the antique beds blend in with historic-feeling wood beams and tiled floors. Those that wish to keep on top of their workout schedule can opt for the main bedroom with its gym equipment inside. 

Although you’re out in the peace and quiet of fields and olive groves, it’s just a ten-minute drive to the town of Manacor. Here, you’ll find buzzing shopping streets, ancient churches and pavement cafes spilling out into lively squares. For beach days, S'illot, Cala Mendia, Porto Cristo and Can Picafort are all around a twenty-five-minute car journey away.

From here, you can walk to the nearby supermarket and restaurants, plus it’s just a five-minute drive to the beautiful beaches of Cala D’Or. Your host can organise a range of extras for little ones and while the rooms are basic, we think you’ll be spending most of your time in the swimming pool or lounging on the terrace. 


Simple Peace

This 250-year-old rural villa is tucked away in Mallorca's lush countryside. The remote surroundings mean you'll have plenty of privacy, but it comes with one downside – the nearest town, restaurant, and beach are only reachable by car. But, seeing as there's private parking here, that shouldn’t be a problem. Besides, the outdoor terraces and private pool are perfect for relaxing in the sunshine, and with a bundle of bedrooms, space won’t be an issue. This is a charmingly old home, so expect some wear and tear inside and out. That said, if traditional character and seclusion are what you're after, this could fit the bill nicely.

Outdoor living is easy at this family villa, set in quiet countryside on the outskirts of the popular Cala d’Or resort. With a private pool, Jacuzzi, BBQ area, dining table and plenty of seating options, most alfresco options are covered. The four ensuite bedroom all have countryside views and the master suite boasts panoramic sea views from its private terrace. The villa is set back from the road so while you’ll have easy access for exploring the island by car, you’ll still enjoy a feeling of seclusion in the lawned garden. 

Villa S'Horta

An idyllic retreat secluded away in the Mallorcan countryside – this traditional villa is perfect for those seeking a tranquil getaway, far from the madding crowd. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate its easy access to the nearby village's course, whilst sun-seekers can take their pick from the poolside loungers or head to the nearby beaches for a change of scenery – they're under a fifteen-minute drive away. 

Inside the traditional stone façade, the country-style interiors are in keeping with its authentic 1940s Mallorcan origins. Our favourite spot in the home is undoubtedly the main bedroom – you're bound to feel like royalty with its red crimson colour scheme and beautiful balcony. That's not to say guests in the other rooms will feel hard done by, far from it. Each has a spectacular view over the surrounding countryside, and the majority also have their own en-suite bathrooms.

The grounds offer a picturesque playground for children and adults alike. In addition to the pool, you'll find a ping pong table for outdoor tournaments, while a nearby orange grove scents the air. After a day under the Spanish sun, we can think of nothing better than relaxing in the outdoor dining area as dinner sizzles away on the built-in brick barbecue.

Imagine spending your days on a peaceful estate, away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday – and then add the Spanish sun beaming through the windows. This Mallorcan villa offers just that. Days here can be spent by the pool, eating tapas on the first-floor terrace, and finally unwinding in an ornate, dark wood bed. 

This traditional farm estate is surrounded by fields and vineyards and feels like stepping back in time without foregoing the luxuries of modern life. Inside, archways link a maze of reception rooms, from banquet-sized dining spots to cosy lounges around the fire. Furnishings feel as though they’ve been handed down for generations, and kept in the family since the 19th century.  Should you need to work remotely, there’s a modern office attached to the master bedroom and a grand office with an antique desk in the labyrinthine living area.

You may not want to leave, but if you do, the beach is only 15km away and the route there is peppered with many local eateries where you can get your tapas cravings fixed.

Inside is traditional in style, but business travellers will appreciate the desk area in one of the bedrooms. Out and about, you’ll find a wide range of restaurants, bars and shops in Portocolom, as well as pretty beaches such as Cala Marcal, which lies to the south of the marina.

You can’t forget your coastal location with the nautical theme that runs through this home, a distinct nod, perhaps, to Portocolom lighthouse which forms part of your daily view. It sets the scene for what is guaranteed to be a tranquil getaway as you listen to the gentle roll of the waves and drink in those sea vistas. The private pool will quickly tempt you in, just the tonic during the heat of the day, before you settle down to enjoy the sunset over an alfresco meal and bottle of wine.

Situated in southeast Mallorca, this villa is a twenty-minute drive from Cala Petita Beach and less than fifteen minutes from Felantix town. When you’re not exploring the island, we think you’ll be cooling off in the private pool, dining on Mallorcan delicacies in the sunshine or relaxing with a glass of something chilled. The interiors are traditional, and as this is a lived-in home, you’ll notice some signs of wear and tear, though everything functions as it should. Plus, two living area means there’s plenty of room for a group of eight to feel at ease.

You’ll find this villa situated in Portocolom, just a short walk from two sandy coves and a simple beach bar. Amenities like shops, a chemist and restaurants cluster around the main harbour, around 2 kilometres away. The home itself is simple in style but comfortable enough for a long stay. If you have the little ones in tow, there are retractable gates at both the top and bottom of the stairs and the swimming pool can be fenced. We loved the terrace for alfresco dining and the balcony was our favourite spot for a sundowner.

Sun on the Sand

Building this home was the realisation of a life-long dream for the owner, whose family worked the land for generations – you can tell a lot of love has been poured into the villa. It’s a comfortable and welcoming home, ideal for families. We love the outside space, with a private pool, open and covered terraces, and incredible panoramic views of the rolling countryside surrounding the home. You can even spot the Tramuntana mountains in the distance. The nearest beach is around fifteen minutes away by car, so we recommend hiring a car.

Here you'll be just a ten-minute drive from the beautiful beach at Portocolom. After a day of island adventures, retreat inside, where exposed stone, dark wood furnishings and a neutral colour palette blend perfectly with the natural surroundings.

Surrounded by olive trees with views across the natural harbour, this home is filled with the warmth and lightness of its island setting.  And it’s the perfect place for families and friends to experience the magic of Mallorca. From the spacious living area to the serene terrace, it’s easy to enjoy quality time together as well as moments of quiet and solitude. 

Whether you’re preparing your morning coffee in the kitchen or taking a dip in the pool, this is the kind of home that makes you feel good. You could spend your day relaxing in the garden or wander down to the beach. Cala Marçal beach is only a nineteen–minute walk, or jump in the car and head to Cala d'Or otherwise known as the 'Golden Bay' – a fifteen–minute drive away. 

There are some wonderful restaurants and bars in this area, but we won’t be surprised if this home becomes your favourite place to dine. Open the patio doors, light up the barbecue and enjoy the simple beauty of being together. 

The Pink Dawn

Fresh as a daisy, this cantaloupe-coloured villa surrounded by meadows is a restorative treat. The all-white interiors create calm from the minute you arrive, and you can really tell the host has chosen the furnishings thoughtfully. The fairy light jars and floral accents are endearing touches, but you won’t be able to resist a whirlwind romance with the private garden. 

In juxtaposition with the interior, outside is an oasis of nature and colour impossible not to fall in love with. You can spend all day out here and never get bored. We earmarked the hammock for afternoon siestas straight away and loved the fact we could enjoy our homemade lunch in the shade of the arbour. A post-lunch hot tub dip will become a daily ritual, before rinsing off in the outdoor shower and heading on foot into Villafranca de Bonany (a ten-minute walk) for an evening tapas meal.
