This farmhouse has been renovated in such a way that it has retained its unique rural character while still getting to call itself a holiday home fit for the twenty-first century. Mallorquin both within and without, it’s built in the classic blonde stone of the area and filled with traditional dark wood furnishings, wrought iron beds and classic Mediterranean tiled floors. Spend your days lazing by the pleasingly large pool, enjoying long lunches on the covered terrace, and exploring some of the gorgeous local beaches — the sands of Cala D’Or are just 13 minutes away by car. Golf enthusiasts will be finding an excuse to visit the course at the nearby Club Vall D’Or and cyclists will enjoy the network of trails that criss-cross the island. Although just a ten-minute drive from the nearest town of Felanitx, this inland oasis feels a world away from everyone.

As you approach the home, it gives off a rustic, farmhouse vibe with a traditional look. Honey-coloured stone, wooden shutters, and a terracotta roof are everything you might expect, but the reality is closer to modern luxury. The outdoor area feels more VIP than rural life – palm trees and delicate native flowers line the perimeter, creating a green wall around four-poster sun loungers, multiple terraces, an outdoor grill, shady verandahs, hammocks, and a swimming pool. We love this vast, maze-like space, where you can chase the sun to keep finding secret spots and hidden corners to sip Mallorcan wine. 

As the sun goes down, you might head inside to get cosy beneath traditional wooden beams, or beside the wood-burning stove. With vintage trinkets and an eclectic mix of art in gilded frames, this home feels more like a quirky museum – a wonderfully unique stay on a wonderfully unique island.

Located in the southeast corner of Mallorca – this country house has beautiful grounds. You’ll find fruit trees, a large private swimming pool and extensive sun terraces with beautiful rural landscape vistas of fields and rolling hillsides covered with fir, olive, almond and palm trees. The home is located just a ten-minute drive from Felanitx with its weekly market, while it’s the same travel time to Porto Colom's numerous waterfront cafes and beaches. Golfers will be glad to know that there’s a course 14 kilometres away too.

A paradise on paradise, it won't be a mystery why this home caught our eye. With several fantastic places to catch the sun, including by the large pool and on one of the terrace areas, this home is the perfect escape for a group of friends or an extended family. With an ensuite for every room and all that space, you won't encroach on one another, while still enjoying ample opportunity to come together to dine and connect. We especially like the shaded al fresco area and the Mediterranean garden. You're also a short drive away from the beach – perfect for a day trip.

If you happen to be a golf lover, this home makes a great choice thanks to its proximity to Golf Vall d’Or. It’s also just a short drive to Portocolom, with the island’s beautiful beaches also within easy reach. And while its old stone walls and wooden beams are just as they were, the home's refreshed interiors are ready to be the blank canvas for you to create your own memories. Spread across different wings, separate buildings, three floors and endless rooms, this place has thought of pretty much everything. Fun and games can be found in the dedicated games room, dinner can seemingly take place in a different dining room each night, and several of the bedrooms gaze out over the ocean. Speaking of bedrooms, with twenty to choose from, and a maximum capacity of forty guests, you're bound to find the right one for you. The cellars double up as event spaces, with moody backlighting and a team who can bring the place to life. The team are also on hand if you want to organise an outside party, with different packages available. For those who fancy the DIY approach, two barbecues are ready for evening feasts. Within the 25,000 square metres of land, you’ll find fruit trees, olive groves and a huge lawn for a sense of isolation and space. The swimming pool in the heart of the gardens has a view over the famous vineyards of Pere Seda – perhaps enjoy a glass of your ultra-local wine at the big dining table on the first-floor balcony, or at the poolside dining area. Wicker sofas and rocking chairs on the veranda add a rustic feel, overlooking the fields and orchards to the misty mountains beyond. 

With the home, you’ve got two kitchens to choose from. One leads out to the poolside barbecue terrace, making the shuttling of salads and sauces a breeze. The second kitchen leads onto the second dining terrace outside and opens up to a huge indoor dining room big enough for the whole group. You’ve also got two sitting rooms to choose from – a main lounge set around a cast-iron fireplace and a second sitting room with direct access to the terrace. We love the ornate headboards in the bedrooms – the antique beds blend in with historic-feeling wood beams and tiled floors. Those that wish to keep on top of their workout schedule can opt for the main bedroom with its gym equipment inside. 

Although you’re out in the peace and quiet of fields and olive groves, it’s just a ten-minute drive to the town of Manacor. Here, you’ll find buzzing shopping streets, ancient churches and pavement cafes spilling out into lively squares. For beach days, S'illot, Cala Mendia, Porto Cristo and Can Picafort are all around a twenty-five-minute car journey away.

For those fitness enthusiasts, there’s even an on-site gym – and for those who prefer a slower pace of life, the hot tub, gazing out at the vistas, will be right up your street.

With marina views and modern decor, this bright apartment in the resort town of Portocolom is an ideal base for those looking for a slice of the Mallorcan good life. 

Slide open the open-plan living area’s glass doors and step out onto the private balcony – the ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee or evening sundowner while watching the yachts sail in and out of the marina. This is also the ideal place to tuck into some homemade tapas treats cooked up in the sleek kitchen, or alternatively, gather around the living area’s dining table for a celebratory feast to the gentle sound of the waves just outside. 

The three pared-back bedrooms are wonderfully comfortable and the main bedroom gives you further access to the balcony. Factor in the luxurious bathrooms and you’ve got everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing stay. 

Outside of your home, walk along the seafront just outside and explore the many restaurants lining the water’s edge. You’re also a five-minute drive (or a twenty-five minute walk) from sandy Cala Marçal, while Arenal de Ases beach is a twenty-minute stroll from your door.

You’ll find this villa situated in Portocolom, just a short walk from two sandy coves and a simple beach bar. Amenities like shops, a chemist and restaurants cluster around the main harbour, around 2 kilometres away. The home itself is simple in style but comfortable enough for a long stay. If you have the little ones in tow, there are retractable gates at both the top and bottom of the stairs and the swimming pool can be fenced. We loved the terrace for alfresco dining and the balcony was our favourite spot for a sundowner.

Sitting on the edge of Felanitx, this home provides the ideal backdrop to a rustic island escape. The decor might be basic and traditional, but we think most of your time will be spent outdoors by the pool or exploring the region. From here, it’s just a short drive to the amenities in Felanitx, and a little further on to the beautiful beaches of the southern coast. Your host can also help organise guided tours and activities – a great option for families and groups looking for a healthy dose of adventure.

This rustic 200-year-old farmhouse in Felanitx offers a peaceful retreat with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. There’s a private pool, barbecue area, and spacious terraces perfect for soaking up the sun. This traditional farm estate is surrounded by fields and vineyards and feels like stepping back in time without foregoing the luxuries of modern life. Inside, archways link a maze of reception rooms, from banquet-sized dining spots to cosy lounges around the fire. Furnishings feel as though they’ve been handed down for generations, and kept in the family since the 19th century.  Should you need to work remotely, there’s a modern office attached to the master bedroom and a grand office with an antique desk in the labyrinthine living area.

You may not want to leave, but if you do, the beach is only 15km away and the route there is peppered with many local eateries where you can get your tapas cravings fixed.

San Rocco

This 250-year-old rural villa is tucked away in Mallorca's lush countryside. The remote surroundings mean you'll have plenty of privacy, but it comes with one downside – the nearest town, restaurant, and beach are only reachable by car. But, seeing as there's private parking here, that shouldn’t be a problem. Besides, the outdoor terraces and private pool are perfect for relaxing in the sunshine, and with a bundle of bedrooms, space won’t be an issue. This is a charmingly old home, so expect some wear and tear inside and out. That said, if traditional character and seclusion are what you're after, this could fit the bill nicely.

This traditional villa sits on the edge of sleepy S’Horta where it provides a great location for a family getaway. From here, you can walk to the nearby supermarket and restaurants, plus it’s just a five-minute drive to the beautiful beaches of Cala D’Or. Your host can organise a range of extras for little ones and while the rooms are basic, we think you’ll be spending most of your time in the swimming pool or lounging on the terrace.

Spend the morning lounging by the pool, savouring those unbelievable views, and in the afternoon head to the terrace for an alfresco lunch – all those citrus trees, ancient olive orchards and almond groves serve as a reminder of the excellent produce at your fingertips. If you’re feeling active, there are plenty of walking paths nearby, lined with wildflowers and herbs. 

Here you'll be just a ten-minute drive from the beautiful beach at Portocolom. After a day of island adventures, retreat inside, where exposed stone, dark wood furnishings and a neutral colour palette blend perfectly with the natural surroundings.

Nestled on the outskirts of Portocolom, this apartment is 500 metres from Arenal dets Ases beach. Restaurants, shops, and bars are a bit further – you'll need to hop in the car, but they're just a short drive away. Alongside the communal pool, the private garden and balcony are ideal for chilling out, Spanish style. It's on the first floor, so prepare to climb some stairs, and since it's part of an apartment complex, you're likely to hear and see your neighbours. For a family getaway in Mallorca, it's a good choice.

Situated in southeast Mallorca, this villa is a twenty-minute drive from Cala Petita Beach and less than fifteen minutes from Felantix town. When you’re not exploring the island, we think you’ll be cooling off in the private pool, dining on Mallorcan delicacies in the sunshine or relaxing with a glass of something chilled. The interiors are traditional, and as this is a lived-in home, you’ll notice some signs of wear and tear, though everything functions as it should. Plus, two living area means there’s plenty of room for a group of eight to feel at ease.

With a private pool, Jacuzzi, BBQ area, dining table and plenty of seating options, most alfresco options are covered. The four ensuite bedroom all have countryside views and the master suite boasts panoramic sea views from its private terrace. The villa is set back from the road so while you’ll have easy access for exploring the island by car, you’ll still enjoy a feeling of seclusion in the lawned garden. 

Villa S'Horta

An idyllic retreat secluded away in the Mallorcan countryside – this traditional villa is perfect for those seeking a tranquil getaway, far from the madding crowd. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate its easy access to the nearby village's course, whilst sun-seekers can take their pick from the poolside loungers or head to the nearby beaches for a change of scenery – they're under a fifteen-minute drive away. 

Inside the traditional stone façade, the country-style interiors are in keeping with its authentic 1940s Mallorcan origins. Our favourite spot in the home is undoubtedly the main bedroom – you're bound to feel like royalty with its red crimson colour scheme and beautiful balcony. That's not to say guests in the other rooms will feel hard done by, far from it. Each has a spectacular view over the surrounding countryside, and the majority also have their own en-suite bathrooms.

The grounds offer a picturesque playground for children and adults alike. In addition to the pool, you'll find a ping pong table for outdoor tournaments, while a nearby orange grove scents the air. After a day under the Spanish sun, we can think of nothing better than relaxing in the outdoor dining area as dinner sizzles away on the built-in brick barbecue.
