We spent much of our stay at this three-bedroom villa slightly slack-jawed at the beauty of the place. The honey-coloured stone of the exterior glows in the sunshine, while the turquoise salt-water pool glistens invitingly. 

Inside, gorgeous stone walls, wooden beams and elegant furniture meet, resulting in a cool ranch-house style with every comfort you could wish for. Vast windows let light pour in, and create an open indoor/outdoor feel. Terraces line the house, with tables for alfresco dining as well as comfy swings and hammocks – it’s remarkably easy to while away several hours while drifting gently in the breeze. 

The salt-water pool is tempting any time of the day, and there are sun loungers in the sun and shade. We loved starting our day out by the pool then moving to one of the long tables on the terrace for a barbecued feast. Meals stretched on for hours as the conversation – and vino – flowed, punctuated only by occasional games of table tennis. 

The quiet town of Son Servera is only a sixteen-minute drive from the villa, with a weekly market and charming streets for you to explore. Golfers are well served in the area, with links at Pula and Son Servera less than twenty minutes away. You can enjoy the soft sands and clear waters of Porto Cristo beach in twelve minutes – why not drive out later in the day to watch the sun set over the water?

Located on a hill between the towns of Son Carrió and Cala Millor, this authentic country villa is just a short drive away from some of the best beaches, hiking trails and cycling routes of Mallorca. Surrounded by olive trees, the garden features a private swimming pool, a covered terrace with views overlooking the local nature and an alfresco dining area. Meanwhile, shadier spots can be found inside, where the stone-clad walls create a cool (and characterful) ambience. While the interiors lack modern charm and appear dated in parts, the designs here don't seem out of place, given the heritage of this traditional home.

Accessed via a private country lane, this villa offers peace and quiet, as well as verdant wooded vistas from the terrace and the swimming pool. The home is surrounded by more than 3000 square metres of private land, so you’ll be able to listen to the birds singing in the trees. Due to its secluded location, we’d recommend having a car as the nearest supermarket and restaurant is 2 kilometres away in Artá. Other attractions include Beach Canyamel 9 kilometres away, while there’s a golf course 4 kilometres from this home.

This sun-soaked home has everything you want from a Mallorcan getaway – endless sea views, a private balcony, unfussy interiors and a five-minute walk from the beach. The architects of this apartment had indoor-outdoor living at the forefront when designing this space. A wall of glass gives way to the outside space where a bistro set up calls for slap-up suppers that last well into the evening. 

Inside, white-washed walls and natural textures combine to create a relaxing environment that’s a pleasure to relax in. We particularly loved the pink striped couch, adding a touch of whimsy to the place. When you’re not penning smug postcards at the dining table, you’ll be strolling along the soft sands of S'illot Beach or taking day trips to the charming towns of Portocolom on the east coast, reached in thirty minutes by car, and Alcúdia in the north, less than an hour’s drive away.

Al Claro de Luna

You’ll find this traditional Mallorcan style home a seven-minute drive from Porto Cristo, a picturesque fishing village on the island’s eastern coast. Family-run restaurants flank the quiet streets and there’s a small market held every Sunday on the promenade. The eponymous beach is a lovely spot from which to soak up the Mediterranean sunshine, especially with an ice-cold drink in hand. 

Back at home, an open-plan living space with a selection of laidback furnishings is the perfect place to unwind before dinner. As the barbecue sizzles away, splash about in the pool with your loved ones before setting the alfresco dining table ready for a slap-up feast. Bask in the golden hour light on the loungers as a gentle breeze dances through the delicate curtains and when the sun starts to set, head up to your balcony to watch twilight fall across the landscape.

You’ll find this rustic villa on the outskirts of Sant Llorenç in northeast Mallorca. While some areas of the home may feel a little dated to some, the place is equipped with all the mod cons you'll need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Outside, the swimming pool is a delight in the summer, and the covered terrace is the perfect spot for lazy lunches. Should you fancy a change of surroundings, Millor Beach is a short car ride away.

This tranquil farmhouse is tucked away in the scenic and wild mountain landscapes of Mallorca, in the picturesque medieval town of Artá. We think it's a good choice for small families wanting a quiet stay in nature, as your host can provide some free baby equipment. The private pool and sun loungers let you enjoy views of the castle over the mountains, and the charming weekly market is around 2km away. The road up to the home isn't in the best condition, so you'll need a larger car for the terrain. It's not far to drive to the nearest beaches and golf courses on Mallorca's coast, though.

Festooned with tumbling bougainvillea and glowing from top-to-toe in crisp white, this recently renovated home is everything you want your Mallorcan retreat to be. And locations don't get much better either. You can be swimming off the sandy shores of Cala Millor or mooching along its seafront promenade bustling with restaurants and bars in just an eight-minute stroll.

Though you might find all you need back at home. Perfectly geared to alfresco living, sunny mornings call for lazy breakfasts on one of the two furnished outdoor terraces before a cool dip in the pool. And if you think the garden looks pretty now – wait till you see the festoon lights flicker on at night. It's a magical place to spend evenings with sundowners and a barbecue.

When it's time to beat the heat, there are heaps of activities to keep everyone happy indoors. A games cabinet stacked with toys and a games console should keep the kids (and big kids) busy or crash out with a movie in the cosy living area. 

Well suited for friends or family sharing – bedrooms are spaced out over two floors to give guests that extra bit of privacy and united by the same pared-back and calming palette. We don't know about you, but it all sounds pretty dreamy to us.

In the Night Garden

Situated just a ten-minute walk from the centre of Porto Cristo, this apartment is in an excellent location which offers the tranquillity of being near the edge of the forest but also the convenience of plenty of local amenities including a supermarket, restaurants, bars, and even a bakery – perfect for buying fresh breakfast pastries. Start your mornings here with a café con leche at the kitchen’s breakfast bar or take your fresh jugo de naranja outside and enjoy it in comfort on the pergola-shaded terrace. 

Sandy beaches are also close by to this home and can be reached in as little as fifteen minutes on foot. So why not spend several hours basking in the sunshine as you recline on the soft sands and listen to the soothing sounds of ocean waves?

Take a dip in the complex’s swimming pool before relaxing in your own small, private garden with your favourite holiday read. Then, in the evening, enjoy a tapas meal alfresco on the terrace or take full advantage of the home’s barbecue and cook some delicious Spanish pinchos.

Sea views abound at this villa on Mallorca's east coast. The panoramic terraces are perfect for soaking up the rays, offering tables for alfresco dining, sofas for afternoon siestas, and a ping-pong table for friendly competitions. Days here start with a dip in the pool and end with a soak in the hot tub overlooking the water, but if you prefer to unwind indoors, you'll find plenty of space. Each bedroom is comfortable and cosy, though two are on the lower level and lack natural light. Location-wise, a rocky beach is right on your doorstep – literally at the edge of the garden – while Cala Bona and Cala Millor are a short drive away.

The bustling city of Manacor is the second-largest metropolis on the island, and also the birthplace of Rafael Nadal. But while tennis fans now flock to this former agricultural hub, there are still elements of its former self. Just a seven-minute drive from the centre, this enormous finca is ready to welcome you to countryside life. 

Surrounded by lush trees and fields, this is rural living on a grand scale. Set over thousands of square feet, you can easily start feeling lost among the grounds of this manor. The coast might be twenty minutes away, but your swimming pool can help make up for this. With four-poster Bali beds around the pool, as well as a sun lounger for everyone, it’s a tough choice between catching rays, swimmings lengths, or exploring the home.

Follow the path up to the bright-red door and traditional wooden shutters of the facade. This theme of bold colour and rustic wood continues indoors. Find slanted ceilings, lined with the richest hues of wood, alongside feature walls bringing a pop of colour into every room. From hot pink to aquatic green, this also continues into the luxurious bedrooms. And as each one has an ensuite with a hydromassage bath, you won’t be drawing straws over who sleeps where.

The Brandy Cask

Set atop a small hill on the outskirts of Sant Llorenç, this villa provides peace and quiet in the Mallorcan countryside. You’ll definitely need a car to get around but fortunately, Millor Beach and Manacor, the island’s second-largest town, are only a short drive away. The home’s outdoor space is geared up for spending lazy days in the sunshine – there are more than enough loungers by the pool and the covered terrace is the ideal spot for long lunches. Interior-wise, just so you know, only the upper floor benefits from air conditioning.

Back inside, each of the air-conditioned bedrooms has an en suite bathroom – ensuring you awaken feeling refreshed and ready to explore. 

For adventures beyond this rural haven, you’ll find the fishing village of Porto Cristo is just a short drive away and has a lovely harbour, restaurants and shops – there’s also a wonderful weekly market here. And for beach days, the eastern coast of Mallorca is peppered with tiny coves and small bays – perfect for embracing the magic of Mediterranean living. 

Island Grace

Sleek and contemporary, this Porto Cristo villa is a far cry from the traditional fincas dotted across Mallorca. Its minimalist interior is spread across multiple floors and flooded with natural light. There's plenty of room for a family – especially in the breezy living area, which has a glimpse of the sea. But it was the sun-kissed terraces that caught our attention. Between the private pool, alfresco dining area and balcony off the main bedroom, it's no surprise you'll spend most of your days soaking up the rays. A bevvy of bars and restaurants are nearby, as are a rocky cove and the famous Drach Caves, although you'll need a car to explore the rest of the island.

Siesta by the Sea

Ideally located in the very heart of Porto Cristo, overlooking the glorious ocean, this Mediterranean-style villa has been designed with the utmost attention to detail. Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows let you make the most of your prime position here, while the calming colour scheme lets the ocean views be the star of the show. Outside, you'll find lots of places to sit and take in those sea views, with balconies and terraces a-plenty – and of course, there's the stunning outdoor pool, which makes the perfect place to spend sunny mornings. You're just 50 metres from Cala Inge beach here, as well as close to some of the buzzing bars and vibrant restaurants that make this location so sought-after.

The Sunset View

There’s nothing but fields and palm trees as far as the eye can see at this secluded villa. Well, you can also catch a fringe of hazy mountains in the distance too. Though you’re in the heart of the Mallorcan countryside here, it’s just a six-minute drive to the beautiful town of Manacor which is packed with shops, restaurants and bars in its old centre. For a beach day, it’s a fifteen-minute drive to Portocristo where there’s a long sweep of beach lined with bars and restaurants.

Though, with outdoor space like this, you may want to spend all your time relaxing at the villa. Loungers and double day beds line the pristine swimming pool, where reclining comes with a view out over the fields for miles. We love the patio beneath the bamboo pergola, which provides a shaded spot for outdoor dining, particularly easy with a summer kitchen equipped with a fridge, barbecue grills, sink and plenty of prep space. 

Or head indoors to cook in the jolly fire-engine-red kitchen. There’s plenty of room in here to have several chefs cooking at once and a long dining table at its centre. Bedrooms are blissfully breezy and rustic, with hardwood floors and wooden ceilings like the Mallorcan farmhouses of old. Most have double glass doors, so you can tumble from bed to patio or terrace in minutes.

Fields & Fronds

If you’re planning a coastal getaway, this home will tick a lot of boxes. With plenty of space for eight guests to spread out across its three floors, you’ll find en-suites for every bedroom and plenty of mod-cons. For us, the best part of this home is the outdoor area. Whether you’re enjoying a dip in the private pool, rustling up dinner on the barbecue or simply lying back in a hammock, relaxing with a glass of wine, you're never far from knockout sea views. 

Sea of Life

This home is over 100 years old and is full of charm. It’s been lovingly updated so the historic charm remains, but you’ll also find modern amenities like a hydromassage bathtub. It’s in an elevated position so offers excellent views of Mallorca’s countryside. Beautiful Artà is just 3 kilometres away, and is a lovely spot for tapas bars. You’ll need a car to get the most out of your stay here, unless you’re content to spend your stay dozing beside the pool and cooking on the barbecue for alfresco feasts – which certainly has its appeal.  

The Fairies' Home

Surrounded by a Mediterranean garden replete with pine trees and other local plants, this home is a traditional Majorcan house with plenty of modern dashes. Inside, the furnishings are a bit mixed – we like the main bedroom, but the living room might be an acquired taste. However, there are plenty of excuses to stay in the sun – the pool's ideal to cool off in, the alfresco dining area is waiting for rustic feasts, and there are several spots to enjoy cocktails with a few companions. The outside spaces are topped off with a great view of the nearby village – just under a mile away, Sant Llorenç is a great spot for grabbing an authentic bite to eat.

Tucked away in the Mallorcan countryside, this Spanish home is ideal if you’re looking to add an extra layer of privacy to your next Balearic getaway. You’re not overlooked by any other properties here and you’ve got the grounds all to yourself, so you can set off on a relaxing walk without having to pack a phrase book in case you come across one of the locals. 

Inside, this home toes the line between grandiose and modern, boasting elegant living spaces interspersed with cosy corners for unwinding after a busy day of exploring. Come together for an evening meal in the formal dining room or step out onto the terrace and dine alfresco on smoky dishes straight from the barbecue. The dazzling pool is our favourite spot – we can easily imagine sunny days spent floating in the water. Then, when you’re sure you’ve had enough fresh air for one day, head upstairs to your private sleeping quarters and let the ambient sounds of the country lull you to sleep.  

Borges' Paradise

This is a classic Mallorcan villa with bags of charm and an epic garden to boot. Bring another family, there’s plenty of room for eight here. Kids will love roaming around the enormous, lush green garden. Not to mention the fabulous tree-lined pools set within it. There are two, a shallow baby pool and a much larger one for swimming. Meanwhile, the grown-ups can sip Sangria together in the sunshine. 

Later on, make use of the impressive barbecue before heading inside for a sing-song around the piano. Terracotta floors and wood finishes give the place a homely vibe. It comes well kitted out with all you need for a relaxing stay. 

You’re based in Son Carrio, a cute town close to some of the island’s spectacular beaches. S’illot Beach is just 4km away. Manacor, with its strong dining scene and shops, is 9km away. 

Terracotta House

If you're here to get away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist trail, this unique and characterful villa feels a million miles from civilisation. Set on over 700 acres of private land, this place offers complete and utter seclusion. And it's not just the size of the plot that makes this a special home – the traditional finca has accommodation split across several buildings, making it ideal for a group who don't want to be on top of each other. 

The interiors are classic, with oil paintings covering the white walls, wooden beams running across ceilings and antique furniture bringing old-timey charm. Stroll through the gardens to reach the raised private pool, with views across the countryside. Continue walking and you'll come to a boardwalk that takes you to a quiet stretch of coast. This must be heaven.

Terranea

Bright and breezy, this modern villa sits in a prime spot on Mallorca's eastern coast. Just a short drive away lies Porto Cristo, with the rocky beaches of Cala Anguila and Cala Mendia also within easy reach. What initially caught our eye here were the sea views – best enjoyed from the terrace, balcony and two of the bedrooms – but we're equally impressed by the sleek interiors. Inside, there's plenty of space to spread out and unwind away from the island's endless sunshine. Although, if you ask us, the best spot of all to chill out is the small private pool, fitted with whirlpool jets for extra relaxation.

Surrounded by warm-hued stone, this home’s beautiful patio is a special space. Relax here with a glass of wine or cool off in the spa area with its small pool and water blade – it’s particularly magical in the evenings. There’s a roof terrace, too, with lovely views over picturesque Artá, perfect for unwinding in the Mallorcan sun.

Inside, the modern features blend seamlessly with the old – think stone archways, beams and a traditional four-poster bed, as well as a contemporary kitchen and steel staircase.

This home is situated in the heart of pretty Artà, a town just a few kilometres inland from the northeast coast of Mallorca. It’s surrounded by the mountains of the Llevant Natural Park, so has wonderful vistas. On Tuesdays, there’s a weekly market, which is known for its local pottery. Other attractions in the area include the Bronze Age Talaiotic settlement of Ses Païsses, the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador, and the Caves d'Arta.

Escape Majorca's crowds with a stay at this traditional finca fringing the medieval hill town of Artà and just a short drive from Cala Ratjada's dazzling coast. While the interiors may feel a little dated, it's all beautifully cared for, and the extensive gardens and terraces surrounding the private pool are charming. With your nearest restaurants and shops in Artà (two kilometres away), we recommend having a car to get out and about, especially if you've little ones in tow.

With idyllic sea views and direct access to the beach, this home makes it easy to enjoy the magic of island living. Days here can be spent relaxing by the sea or enjoying the privacy of your own swimming pool. There are also two kitchens and a wonderful terrace area with a barbecue – perfect for al fresco dining and drinks as the sun sets. It’s worth noting this home isn’t suitable for young children, but you’ll find everything you could need for a refreshing adults-only escape. It’s also just a short stroll into the heart of Son Serra de Marina, while the surrounding mountains offer a blissful playground for adventure lovers. 

Tranquil Paradise

Wake up to the scent of the blooms that clamber around this beautiful yellow-shuttered home and take a moment. This is what holidays are all about. 
This little slice of heaven is just outside of bustling Manacor but feels tranquil enough to be on its own private island. Acres of lush land spill out towards breath-taking views of distant mountains, and vibrant gardens are littered with brightly coloured flowers and plants. 

Spend your morning by the pool, hopping in for a dip to cool off every now and then. The poolside lawn means there’s plenty of room for fun and games, so any children – and big kids – in your party have space to play. 
At lunchtime serve local sobrassada on thick slices of rustic bread, and drizzle it in honey. Choose a spot on the terrace amid the flowers, or head to the shade if you need a break from the Mallorcan sun – there’s a lovely cushioned seating area that offers some truly magnificent views. 

If you find yourself in need of a slightly faster pace, drive seven minutes to Manacor. There you can admire the stunning church or sip coffee between shops. Visit on a Monday for one of the most popular markets in Mallorca – get there early to nab the best supplies for a barbecue back at the villa. 

If soft white sand and crystal clear waters are too tempting to resist, you’re in luck. The closest beach can be reached in less than twenty minutes, so after a day of building sandcastles you can make it back to the villa for sunset – with views like these, it’s not to be missed.

Within twenty minutes, you can reach some of Mallorca's most beautiful beaches along Alcúdia Bay. The town of Artà is well worth a visit with its gothic churches and the Sant Salvador fortress, just eight minutes by car.

This soulful town has bags of charm and heaps of style to boot. Mooch about Artà's bustling traditional weekly market. Rummage in the local antique stores. Or find yourself a sunny spot at one of the many street cafes for lazy lunches and a spot of people watching – it's all just moments from your door.

When it's time to up the ante, you're in the right spot – the northeast is prime territory for hiking, cycling, horse riding, and bird-watching. Or pack up your bucket and spades and hit the beach – you'll be there in less than twenty minutes.

Back at home, this place had us on those shady verandas alone. But wait till you see the icy-blue pool in the inner courtyard garden.

Inside, the interiors glow from top-to-toe in crisp white. And there's no knick-knacks here – just pristine, uncluttered spaces.

Friends or families holidaying together will love how private the bedrooms feel, spread out across two floors. Though prepare for a tussle for that top floor suite leading out to the terrace – it's dreamy.

Heart of Artà

A personal introduction to the home and a bottle of olive oil made from the surrounding groves welcome you to this huge home in the Mallorcan countryside. Within the 25,000 square metres of land, you’ll find fruit trees, olive groves and a huge lawn for a sense of isolation and space. Although you’re out in the peace and quiet of fields and olive groves, it’s just a ten-minute drive to the town of Manacor. Here, you’ll find buzzing shopping streets, ancient churches and pavement cafes spilling out into lively squares. For beach days, S'illot, Cala Mendia, Porto Cristo and Can Picafort are all around a twenty-five-minute car journey away.

This villa really intrigued us with its unusual mix of red render and warm exposed stone. Relax on the daybeds by the beautiful pool, which has been converted from an ancient reservoir. Surrounded by manicured gardens and mature trees – take in the views of the mountains and truly unwind.

We love so much about this place, but the enclosed courtyard garden draped with sheer black fabric and dotted with lush plants is magical – take a seat on the Acapulco-style chairs with a glass of wine. Then there's the huge living room which is something else. Here, you'll find luxurious leather sofas, a modern fireplace and a wall lined with books – it's perfect for some "me" time. This house is ideal for a family or group of friends as there's plenty of space to spread out, and two bedrooms can only be accessed from outside, giving them added privacy.

Although located in a quiet countryside setting, this home is just a short distance from the town of Manacor. It's the second largest town in Mallorca, so you'll find plenty of shops and a bustling market. There's also a golf course and some of the best beaches on the island, such as Son Serra, a short drive away.


The Red Shoes

Imagine spending your days on a peaceful estate, away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday – and then add the Spanish sun beaming through the windows. This Mallorcan villa offers just that. Days here can be spent by the pool, eating tapas on the first-floor terrace, and finally unwinding in an ornate, dark wood bed. 

This traditional farm estate is surrounded by fields and vineyards and feels like stepping back in time without foregoing the luxuries of modern life. This 250-year-old rural villa is tucked away in Mallorca's lush countryside. The remote surroundings mean you'll have plenty of privacy, but it comes with one downside – the nearest town, restaurant, and beach are only reachable by car. But, seeing as there's private parking here, that shouldn’t be a problem. Besides, the outdoor terraces and private pool are perfect for relaxing in the sunshine, and with a bundle of bedrooms, space won’t be an issue. This is a charmingly old home, so expect some wear and tear inside and out. That said, if traditional character and seclusion are what you're after, this could fit the bill nicely.

This modern farm estate located in the Mallorcan countryside outs you just 3.5 km from the centre of Artà. Featuring a well-kept garden with a swimming pool, patio and pergola, there's no place better to enjoy long lunches and lazy days lounging in the sunshine. From the open-plan living area, panoramic windows provide stunning views of the valley and surrounding countryside. While the designs seem a little dated, the space inside is highly functional and provides the ideal set-up for a family in particular. You'll find storage space to keep bicycles, as renting them here is the best way to discover Artá and the stunning Mallorcan countryside.
