Tucked away neatly above the town’s centre, you’re just a ten-minute walk from the ski lift, plenty of restaurants and cafes, and the nearest supermarket is less than five minutes away. Guests will also have access to a private ski locker, a storage room and free parking. Those who enjoy the finer things in life may also want to make use of the wellness area. For an additional cost, you can use the sauna, hammam, gym, outdoor hot tub or indoor swimming pool. Anyone visiting in warmer months and looking to mountain bike will also be delighted to hear of the fully-secured indoor bike storage. Your hosts have really thought of everything here.

Douglas Fir

Nestled into the mountainside, this isn't your average French chalet. This incredible home was built in 2020 and has a contemporary industrial vibe with a mix of concrete, wood, marble and stainless steel finishes. Select a book from the Charlotte Perriand-inspired library and curl up on one of the comfy sofas or admire the view from the panoramic windows. After a day of skiing or hiking, relax with a brandy in front of the stylish fireplace. Later on, cook a feast of French delicacies in the sleek kitchen, or retire to the cosy TV room and watch your favourite movie. Surrounded by rolling meadows, the ski resort of Morzine is a lively destination with a vibrant après scene. Here you can do all the usual winter activities such as snowmobiling, tobogganing and skiing, as well as ice-diving at nearby Lac de Montriond. This Alpine town is a year-round option, though, with many shops, bars and walking trails nearby.

Alpine Crocus

Set in the centre of the tranquil alpine village of Morzine, this rustic retreat is the perfect place to unwind after a day on the slopes. With the convenience of private underground parking and your own private ski locker, your home is set on the second and third floors of a brand new development. Step inside, and the home exudes a warming welcome. With exposed wooden beams and quirky wooden furniture it naturally has a rustic feel, complemented beautifully by the sleek, modern kitchen and contemporary furnishings. 

After a day out on the slopes, return home, wrap yourself in one of the fluffy throws and indulge in a steaming cup of hot chocolate in front of the wood burner. As darkness falls, head out onto your balcony and look up at the blanket of stars that sparkle above the mountains. All you’ll hear is the still of the night and even in the darkness, you’re aware of the beauty that surrounds you. 

If you’re not in the mood for cooking, a great selection of bars and restaurants are just downstairs. As another day dawns and the snow is calling you, the Morzine ski lift is only 100 metres away – or if you fancy a spot of skating, you’ll find the rink just 200 metres away. With so much to be enjoyed right on your doorstep, you’ll never be lost for something to do. 

Piste & Tranquility

Peeping over the snowy peaks of Les Gets, this stylish apartment that combines rustic charm and modern design is the perfect alpine escape for a family or group of friends looking for that little bit extra. It's no ordinary ski lodge, with double-height ceilings, skylights, and floor-to-ceiling windows wrapping around half of the living, dining, and kitchen space, creating a bright and comfortable space to unwind after a day on the slopes. 

Inside, the home is instantly inviting, with exposed wooden beams and walls, naturally giving it a cabin feel, while the plush modular sofa, contemporary fireplace and sleek chef's kitchen keep things modern. The open layout provides a sociable area, and when the sun's shining, enjoy dinner and drinks alfresco out on your private terrace offering sublime mountain views. 

If you're not in the mood for cooking, Les Gets offers a great selection of bars and restaurants right on your doorstep. You'll be surrounded by the alpine mountains too, with lifts taking you up to the slopes during the winter months.

Alpine Modern

Just metres from the shore of Lac Bouzey, this charming two-bedroom cabin offers an idyllic family-friendly gateway to the low-lying mountains of the Vosges in eastern France.

Its open-plan interior is light and airy thanks to south-facing sliding doors with picturesque lake views and easy access to a private deck. It is equipped with an outdoor dining set and an indulgent Jacuzzi for relaxing out in nature. Back inside, the kitchen is kitted out with everything you need to fry up family feasts, while the two bedrooms are decorated in soothing blue and lavender tones – mirroring the colours of the lake's summer season.

Lovers of the great outdoors will appreciate the opportunity to get out on the water on a sailboat or paddleboard, supervised swimming over the summer months and plenty of hiking and biking trails through the surrounding countryside. 

The cabin is located on the outskirts of the quiet commune of Sanchey and a short drive from the historic, leafy town of Épinal. We'd suggest parking up and exploring its pretty central square, magical old quarter and medieval ruins on foot before heading further east to the breathtaking Ballon des Vosges.

And Away

Overlooking the mountain peaks of the French Alps, this inviting cabin is the ideal space to unwind after a day on the slopes. Located in the stunning village of Morzine, with many shops, bars and walking trails nearby, you'll instantly feel right at home. 

Kick off your ski boats, step inside, and embrace the warmth of your welcoming chalet. Sink into a plump sofa with a steaming cup of hot chocolate in one hand, a book in the other, and snuggle up in front of the cosy wood burner. Exposed timber beams and wooden floors are blended expertly with quirky artwork and a modern kitchen. Prepare a hearty meal to be enjoyed in the adjacent dining area with an elegant oak table, perfect for celebratory dinners. Retire to your very own cinema room and watch your favourite movies together, or head out onto your private balcony and gaze up at the stars above the mountains.

Perfectly pitched, the home is a short walk from the slopes as well as the vibrant village centre, offering a hub of activity right on your doorstep. And, of course, you can do all the usual winter activities such as snowmobiling, skiing, tobogganing, while taking in the stunning mountain views around you. 

King & Queen

Bringing together the best of modern luxuries and traditional chalet comforts, Leyland Cypress is able to accommodate up to six guests within its cosy, yet modern four walls. All beds are zip-and-links, meaning you’ll have plenty of flexibility when it comes to sleeping arrangements. For an additional cost, guests can also make use of the complex’s wellness area, which includes a gym, an outdoor jacuzzi, a sauna, and an indoor pool. Those visiting in warmer months to enjoy the area’s mountain biking will also be grateful to hear of the building’s fully secured indoor bike storage. Any skiers and snowboarders can easily walk to the nearest ski lift in just ten minutes, making it an excellent choice for those that want to be out and about in this impressive alpine setting.

Leyland Cypress

Indulge in the height of luxury at this chateau, consisting of five historical buildings. Fortified by medieval walls, the buildings centre around a gorgeous courtyard. Brimming with amenities indoors and out, you'll have your pick of the private pool, landscaped gardens, and alfresco dining with breathtaking views of Yonne Valley. Bikes can also be provided for exploring the surrounding area, including the charming town of Mailly-le-Château with its beautiful scenery and the winding Yonne River. Indoors, you'll find a games room and a cinema room in the main house. To further elevate your stay, your host can arrange additional services from a gourmet dining experience to extra housekeeping.

The Mailly

Located close to the centre of Les Gets, we defy anybody not to be impressed by this penthouse apartment that combines rustic charm and contemporary flourishes with aplomb.

Given the rather beautiful landscape around these parts, the architect has made the sensible decision to include as many windows and glass doors in the main living space as possible, which also has the added benefit of bringing in ample amount of natural light. During the winter months, you'll love gazing out at the mountain scenery with the fireplace crackling away beside you, but if the weather is a little warmer, you can opt instead to make use of the balcony terrace instead.

When it comes to the design, you can spot many typically Alpine aspects, like the wood finishes and stone floors, but there are a wealth of modern touches in the shape of bold artworks, chic furnishings and the deliciously minimalist kitchen. There's certainly some Scandi influence to be detected in the furniture, but the most Nordic feature of all has to be the three-person sauna that is sure to be a blessing after a long day out on the slopes.

In Les Gets, you'll find a few restaurants and bars to keep you refreshed, as well as a museum dedicated to mechanical musical instruments. Of course, you're surrounded by Alpine mountains too, with lifts taking you up to the slopes in the winter months. There are plenty of hiking and cycling routes to explore if you're here during the warmer seasons, as well.

Top of the Range

This renovated barn in the Burgundy countryside is a twenty-minute drive from the charming town of Beaune. The hosts, Laura and Peter, have kitted the place out with all the creature comforts you’ll need for an unforgettable break. There’s a sauna available in the autumn and winter, a garden for refreshments alfresco and a bar for sampling the region’s best wines. At capacity, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed, which may not be ideal if you’re planning an extended stay.

Burgundy Haven

Go back in time with a stay at this memorable holiday home. This 18th-century gîte sits on the edge of the beautiful Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan, making it ideal for those who want to explore the stunning French countryside. Inside, you'll find antique furnishings, oil paintings and historic decor that makes the home feel truly special, as well as some places to soak up its history, such as the heirloom library. Outside, the pretty courtyard is ideal for alfresco dining, while the outdoor lounge area is great for drinks at sunset.
