Situated in the charming village of Chantemerle, this apartment is just a three-minute walk from the gondola linking you to Serre Chevalier’s spectacular 250 kilometres of piste. There’s also a footpath, for all building residents, which leads to River Guisane – perfect for a stroll. In fact, the large living room overlooks a larch forest and the river beyond. We love the vistas of the piste from the southwest-facing balcony. If you need to work from home, there’s a workspace here too.

We're not sure if BBC sent you here, but if you want a closer look at Mulberry House's kitchen, look no further than Rick Stein’s 'Secret France' featuring the smiley host making a delicious meal here — and were absolutely expect your to try to recreate it! This is a typical French hilltop chateau, but this doesn't mean it's ordinary. The casually welcoming atmosphere is a product of modern furniture and restored period features, the kitchen being the best example of this harmony. Still, we expect you to spend much more time around this home than in it. With the huge pool that's perfect for a morning splash and the futuristic loungers around it, a gorgeous dining spot under the pergola, and a breezy back garden, there are plenty of spots to socialise or reflect in peace. The host team that looks after this home is always available to help and organise those extra touches that will make your stay even more special. After dinner, settle down on the sofa, wrap a blanket around you and enjoy a warming cup of hot chocolate – whipped cream and marshmallows are a must. As night calls, take your happy, weary limbs to bed where the peace and quiet of the mountains will help you to drift off into an effortless slumber.

As the next day dawns crisp and clear, throw back the covers and head to the kitchen, first stop – the coffee machine. When it’s time to venture out, you’re just 500 metres from the slopes, where a day of memory-making surrounded by glorious mountain views awaits.

Of course, you’re here for the slopes, and you couldn’t be closer. The ski lifts are just a few metres away from the apartment, and you have access to a ski room with boot warmers. 

When you’re not skiing or soothing your aching muscles in the sauna, you’ll be glad to have such a comfortable apartment to call home. Curl up on the sofa with a mug of cocoa while you warm up and decide on dinner. Will you head out to explore the nearby restaurants and bars, or perhaps you’ll stay in for a feast prepared by a private chef? Sit around the table until late, and sip night-caps on the balcony – the star-strewn sky behind the mountains makes for a lovely view.

You'll be smitten as soon as you see this home's garden. Blossoming with French flora, boasting a private pool and showcasing views of the rolling hills, it's a lovely spot to while away dappled afternoons. Inside is a bit more modern – albeit a little less exciting – but families will have a decent amount of space to spread out and relax. There's a trundle bed in the third bedroom, which we think is best suited to little ones, while the separate study in the mezzanine is ideal for business travellers. On your doorstep is Saint-Saturnin-Lès-Apt, a typical Provençal village with buckets of character. Villars and Apt are further afield.

Nestled in the Luberon national park, this villa prioritises the great outdoors. While the seasonal pool is ideal for summertime stays, the mountain views are there to win you over all year round. Perfect for friends and families, this book-filled home offers large windows and terrace seating spots to enjoy the peaceful setting. Though the steep driveway here isn't the easiest access road, we recommend checking out the nearby villages. Simple pleasures await on your doorstep, as this region is a scenic stomping ground for hikers.
