If you want to see the ocean up close, the beach is less than 1km away – take a walk down to the golden sands to discover what the famous Emerald Coast has to offer. When you're feeling peckish, Cancale oysters are a must-try. Head to one of the local restaurants or buy some from the Mont Saint-Michel oyster market and take them home to prepare yourself. We highly recommend an alfresco dinner on the terrace, washed down with a glass of French wine. When you're finished, head up to the terrace to watch the sunset – the waterfront views have to be seen to be believed.

This Norman farmhouse has been impeccably renovated to create a private and contemporary oasis. Exposed brickwork, natural wooden floors and stone walls characterise each room, while the sleek, high-spec kitchen and modern bathroom with ambient lighting add an updated twist. The house is set on 1.7 acres of land, meaning you’ll have plenty of privacy. You're surrounded by beauty here –wander through the pretty landscaped gardens and head down one of the winding paths to admire the bucolic scenery.  

The large heated 14x4m pool means you can enjoy year-round fun, and there’s an outdoor shower to rinse off in before curling up on a deck chair. The kids will have endless fun running around in the gardens, playing ping pong, and making use of the two bikes. On rainy days they can retreat to the games room, where there’s plenty of board games. 

You are well placed to explore all the delights of the Pays d’Auge region – the village of Honfleur is a fifteen-minute drive away, with its picture-perfect harbour and expansive sandy beach. For the daily shop, there’s a small village near the house which is reachable on foot. On Tuesday mornings drive seven minutes to the farmers’ market in Beuzeville, where you can pick up some local produce and enjoy an alfresco lunch back at home.

While historic features like the elegant façade, grand rooms and antique French floor tiles have been preserved, the basement has been converted into a haven for fun and relaxation. The curved brick rooms are now home to a cinema room, a pool table, and a fitness suite. Meanwhile upstairs retains its 19th-century splendour through antique furniture, original fireplaces, and oak panelled walls. 

Set within an 18-hectare estate, there are beautiful spots to while away the days. Relax on the lawn with a book or sip calvados on the charming château terrace. On sunny days, whip up lunch on the barbecue while the children have fun in the play area. There are over 300 apple and pear trees in the fruit orchard, and beautiful walking trails through the estate’s woodland, with sprawling views of Normandy countryside, which you can explore on foot or on the bikes at the house. 

The area is surrounded by picturesque villages and scenery. The historic town of Gournay-en-Bray is a five-minute drive away, where you can pick up local produce at the twice-weekly market for a picnic.
