It’s a charming home-from-home – you can look forward to exposed stone walls and wooden beams combined with a designer sofa and a silk Persian rug. Two guests can sleep on the mezzanine level if they don’t mind the low ceiling – otherwise, the sofa bed is plenty comfortable.

Once the residence of King Charles VI’s mistress Marie Touchet, this is a truly spectacular home from our Paris collection. Wake from your glamorous master bedroom and peer out over the Place des Vosges from your Juliet balcony. To stay in a historic Renaissance building in an elegant square in the heart of the Marais is a rare gift. Just under a twenty-minute walk from the Notre Dame and only fourteen minutes (on foot) from the Bastille, this location is not only affluent, but it's also right in the middle of the city. Back to the home, the hosts entrusted the refurbishment to the famous interior designer Jacques Grange, who has made the place into a real monument. Between the chandeliers, the antique furniture, and the beautifully preserved original structures, you’re unlikely to find a more luxurious apartment. Choose between a rustic and warming living room with 200-year-old ceiling beams, vintage rugs and quirky wallpaper prints or an opulent, pearly-white living room with grand wall mouldings and a glass-topped coffee table. In a 17th-century townhouse three minutes from the banks of the Seine, your life is about to become a Parisian movie (not just because this building has been used as a filming location). After ascending the grand staircase, your hand gliding up the wrought-iron railings, step into scenes of pure creativity and originality. 

Something between a cottage, apartment, and palace, this home really knows how to impress. We were immediately struck by the rustic timber beams, to match glossy wooden floors and a charmingly creaky spiral staircase. Shelves upon shelves of the host’s books line the walls, while vintage motorbikes sit alongside. And to add glamour to this eclectic mix, a glistening chandelier sparkles above. The apartment is elegant yet comfortable, with everything you might need for your stay. Wake up to light streaming through the windows and begin your day with a coffee in the living room. Perhaps you’ll stroll fifteen minutes to Notre Dame and admire the architecture? Or maybe you’ll spend the day in the galleries and museums, then join the locals on Ile St Louis in the evening. Take a picnic and sit along the bank of the river listening to musicians – it’s only a six-minute walk away. 

The Saint-Paul metro stop is a two-minute walk from the front door, so you can easily explore further afield. When you return, dine in one of the many restaurants nearby before heading up to the peaceful apartment on the fifth floor – you’ll rest easy here.

It belongs to a painter and her influence is everywhere, with an impressive collection of art adorning the walls, unique pieces of furniture and even a sculpture or two. Maximalism is the order of the day here, but with such charming Parisian flair, we dare even the most dedicated minimalist not to fall in love with this home. It also delivers on the amenities front with plenty of space to socialise and air-conditioned bedrooms. The winding streets of Le Marais are right on your doorstep, leading you to art galleries, boutiques and plenty of bistros where you can stop and watch the world go by. And, if you want to see the city, there are three different Metro stations within a five minute walk from the apartment.

With touches of both mid-century charm and industrial utilitarianism, the result is a fresh but cosy decor. Our favourite piece has to be the feature wall of quirky animal portraits (maybe your furry friend could join in?). Outside, if you’re looking for landmarks, you’ll be spoilt for choice between two exceptionally famous squares. The Place de la Bastille is a four-minute walk, and the Place des Vosges is six. The latter is also home to an important attraction for fans of French literature – the Maison de Victor Hugo. Less than 2km away, we recommend making the trendy Canal Saint-Martin your top spot for drinking and dining. Street food and waterside cocktails are definitely on the menu.

The bathroom has been beautifully kitted out with all the luxuries of a hotel. Downstairs guests will find a lounge room with a bar to enjoy a drink or a coffee in. If you're planning a quick stop over in Paris, or just prefer hotels over houses then this is a great choice.

If you want a view of one of Paris's most iconic landmarks, we're talking about the Eiffel Tower, of course, then this home could be the one for you. We love the vistas across the River Seine from the balcony – the perfect spot for enjoying a glass of wine. Inside are lots of the owner's family pictures and belongings, but we think this gives it a homely feel. You'll also find many character features, such as high ceilings, parquet floors and a period fireplace. A few bedrooms also have desks if you need to catch up on work or write a travel blog while away. There's an array of attractions within walking distance, including Notre-Dame and vibrant Le Marais.
