Set in one of our favourite parts of the city, just on the banks of the river, it's tucked away in such a peaceful little courtyard you may find it hard to comprehend you're in the centre of Paris. This ground-floor apartment has been refurbished recently and mixes period features like high ceilings with modern minimalism, a sleek white kitchen and a touch of industrial styling. Comfortable, bright and surprisingly private, it's a real retreat away from the bustling city streets.

Step outside each morning and grab a coffee and croissant as you stroll along the Seine – it's just a six-minute walk to take in the impressive view of Notre Dame, currently being restored. Close to the buzzing Latin Quarter, there's no shortage of great places to eat, drink and shop, and most of the city's big attractions are within walking distance.

From lively jazz bars and the Opéra Bastille to bohemian boutiques and Marché d'Aligre, this pocket of Paris has something for everyone. And it's where you'll find this stylish apartment, just a five-minute walk from the July Column, twenty from Notre Dame and surrounded by a slew of chic cafes, trendy wine bars and delicious eateries.

Come home after a long day and sprawl out on the sofa, nibbling on French cheese, fresh-baked bread and sharing a bottle of wine picked up from the market. We love the exposed brick in the kitchen, the skylights in the bathroom and the soft, modern furnishings. The style is minimal, the living space bright, and the bedroom super comfortable. This flat may be on the smaller side, but we think it'll do nicely for solo travellers and couples wanting to stay in the centre of the action.

On a typically Parisian street in the Bastille neighbourhood, this apartment radiates ultra-modern cool. On your street, you’ve got classic French bistros with seating spilling out onto the pavement under awnings and chi chi little gallery shops. A two-minute stroll away are the café-lined banks of the Canal Saint-Martin and the Place de Bastille where myriad metro stations can whisk you to Notre Dame and The Louvre in less than ten minutes. 

Positioned on an internal courtyard, this apartment is a haven of calm in the city. Everything inside is crisp white and raw wood with fawn and stone touches. Pops of modern art liven up gallery-white walls and an exposed brick wall adds a bit of a warehouse-chic vibe. Our favourite spot has to be the private courtyard terrace, which is blissfully quiet and has alfresco dining set up if you wish.

Situated on Île Saint-Louis, this apartment is a striking distance from Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter, and the Seine. We love how much sunlight there is here, and the contemporary decor meshes perfectly with the original character features. The kitchen is well-appointed if you fancy rustling up meals at home, both bedrooms are roomy and bright, and two bathrooms mean that nobody will have to share. Factor in the proximity to cafes, restaurants, and the neighbourhood's famous ice cream shop, and it more than ticks our boxes.

From the velvet sofa to the canopy bed, there's a real sense of heritage here that we fell in love with at first sight. Outside, you have two roomy terraces to choose from (one for breakfasts, another for evening cocktails as the sunsets over the rooftops), and there's even a working fireplace for those chilly winter nights. But there's plenty of modern conveniences too, including skylights, a maid service, speakers in every room and a luxe master bathroom with gold finishes. Situated on the Île Saint-Louis – an island in the heart of the Seine considered one of Paris' most desirable postcodes – you're just an eight-minute walk from Notre Dame Cathedral. Utterly romantic and endlessly charming, it's not uncommon to hear accordion music drifting down the streets lined with shops, cafes, restaurants and crêperies. You couldn't hope for a more authentic spot to experience the magic of Paris.

Also nearby is the Rue Mouffetard, with various restaurants, shops, cafés, and a permanent open market. This spacious home, situated on the ground floor, and accessed directly from the street, is ideal for a family, friends or business travellers. Bear in mind, though, that there's only one bathroom for six guests at full capacity.

This neighbourhood has something for everyone – independent shops, gourmet eateries, postcard-pretty sidewalk cafes. Though it's not the biggest – especially when the sofa bed is in use – the design perfectly blends contemporary with charm. We love the green accents and the characterful wooden beams. Daily maid service is also a huge perk – no wonder it caught our eye.

At full occupancy, two people will draw the short straw and sleep on the sofa bed in the living room, but the extra bed space makes it ideal for larger groups. We love the cosy private courtyard tucked off the third bedroom – just the spot for morning coffee. Locally, Luxembourg Gardens is a short walk away, or cross the Seine to explore the Île de la Cité, the true heart of Paris.

With the Jardin du Luxembourg just a short stroll away, this apartment’s location is perfect for those who want to stop and smell the roses. The Panthéon, Notre Dame, and the Louvre are also within walking distance – now that's convenient for sightseeing. We love the leafy views from the living space, which accommodates guests five and six on a sofa bed here. Each bedroom has its own marble en-suite and a desk as well – ideal if you’re here on business or leisure.

One of Paris' most famous landmarks is your neighbour at this central apartment. Notre Dame is only a short walk away, but next door is the Church of Saint-Séverin. It may not be as iconic as its neighbour but it’s just as beautiful – and you'll be treated to panoramas of the gothic architecture from the living room windows. View aside, we love the space on offer here, even if the second bedroom is a tad snug and two guests will sleep on a sofa bed. The contemporary finishes are a nice touch, too. There's a soaker bath, a sleek kitchen, and even air conditioning – no wonder it caught our eye.

Tucked away at the end of a charming Parisian courtyard, this apartment in Le Marais is a place for guests to find calm far from the buzz of the city. Sleek interiors present minimal designs and smart use of a compact space. Providing a cosy sanctuary for up to four guests, you'll find it easy to begin and end your days here. In terms of careful design choices, we particularly love the "Blue Nude" or "Nu Bleu" Henri Matisse print hung in the bedroom which ties in the other soothing blue tones seen in the curtains and bedding of this room. Start your days with fresh pastries and coffee around the circular dining table or out on the secluded patio terrace and finish with a glass of French wine over in the living room after an action-packed day put exploring the city. With so much to see and do in the direct vicinity of the apartment, you'll be just a four-minute stroll away from the romantic scenes of the Seine river. Not to mention the wealth of shopping boutiques and world-class bars and restaurants of Le Marais also within close walking distance. From here, it's safe to say you'll have Paris at your fingertips. 

Nu Bleu

Colourful and cosy, this compact apartment could not be better located. It's situated in the vibrant Saint-Germain district, just a stone's throw from Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Seine. The kitchen isn't the biggest, but you'll find plenty of cafes, bistros, and brasseries in the local area where you can whet your appetite. You'll find two comfortable bedrooms here, including one with an en-suite, as well as a sofa bed for guests five and six. Daily cleaning is also included – that's all our boxes ticked.

In an art nouveau building located in the latin quarter, you can find this light and bright home that ticks every box. The large windows are luminous, drenching each room in light, as well as offering stunning views of the Eiffel tower. Decorated in a Scandi-style, the rooms are minimal and pared-back, yet cosy and warm – a delight after a day's exploration. The kitchen is well-equipped, ideal to cook up a storm, but there's only a small counter to enjoy dinner at, so a better choice for those who want to eat out.

Experience Paris like a true Parisian in this authentic French apartment set on the beautiful island of Ile Saint-Louis in the tranquil eastern end of Paris. 
Filled with a mix of contemporary and antique pieces carefully selected chosen by the owner, this home strikes the right balance between classy but cosy interiors. The vibrant and eclectic furnishings are even further complemented by unique pieces of artwork in true Parisian style. We particularly love the grand table dining area, which hones in on the importance of eating well and eating together when embracing the French culture. Pick up a good bottle of French wine from the local wine cellar, alongside other necessities from the butchers, bakery and fromagerie – all located within five minutes walking distance on the island. Once the restaurants clear out at night, the streets of this little village in the heart of Paris, fall quiet and a late stroll down the main street gives the feeling of having stepped into an Impressionist painting. Cross over the river Seine in either direction and you'll find yourself, once again, in more picture-perfect scenes reflective of Paris' romantic reputation.

When you’re not sitting pretty in your sleek pad, go out and explore the many sights within easy reach. The beautifully manicured Luxembourg Gardens are a three-minute walk away, the historic Latin Quarter is a seven-minute stroll and the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral is thirteen minutes away on foot.

While the kitchenette is compact in size and more suited for preparing quick meals rather than elaborate feasts, there’s certainly no shortage of great restaurants in the vicinity, should you crave a fine dining experience. 

Before you head for a night of sweet dreams in the cosy bedroom, strategically positioned on the side of the building which faces away from any street noise, why not relax and unwind with a luxurious bubble bath in the marble bathroom.

This tranquil and sunny apartment in Île Saint-Louis benefits from having views over the Seine and Rive Gauche. Not only is it located on one of Paris’ top five best streets, but it’s also ideal for sightseeing on foot—the Notre Dame and the Marais are within a ten minute mosey, while a walk to the Latin Quarter will take you just under twenty minutes. Inside, the mix-match antique furniture looks effortlessly curated and we loved the collection of exotic figurines and masks; we could have spent hours poring over each artefact. After the great location, our favourite feature is the vast amount of sunlight that floods into every room, making this home the ultimate spirit lifter. Pull open the windows and watch riverboats cruise by as you consider extending your stay just that little bit longer. 

Island Iconica

Small but stylish, this apartment is a great option for short stays. You'll be based in the vibrant Latin Quarter, where bookshops, cafes, and bistros are all within easy reach. For sightseeing, Notre Dame is a short walk away, though there's a metro nearby to explore further afield. The apartment is compact yet comfortable. Guests three and four will sleep on a sofa bed, but as the only bathroom is en-suite and the whole place is pretty pocket-sized, we think it's best for two.

A cosy apartment down a quiet cobblestoned alley in the Fifth Arrondissement, within a two-minute stroll of the lively market street of Rue Mouffetard. 'La Mouf' is the oldest street in Paris, and on weekends you'll find locals haggling over fresh produce. On Sundays, everyone flocks to the square at the southern end of the street, where locals gather to dance and sing accompanied by the accordion – it's an experience not to be missed. The apartment's living space in warm earthy tones will make you feel instantly at home, while the bold lime green kitchen is sure to add some zest to any homemade dishes. If you love a little colour, you'll appreciate this home and the host's attentive care goes above and beyond.

Outside, the quaint courtyard entrance really tops this place off. Visit the Louvre, an eight-minute walk away, or stroll down to the Notre Dame in less than fifteen minutes. All in all, this home is a real hidden treasure in the heart of Paris. 

The Bethlehem

Nestled in the historic Latin Quarter, this home is excellently located for exploring. Walk five minutes in one direction and you'll reach the spires of Notre Dame, while nine minutes the opposite way lies the leafy Luxembourg Gardens. Charming bookstores, local eateries and cosy cafes abound in this neighbourhood, so if living like a true Parisian is what you're after, you can't go wrong with this postcode. Inside, it's minimally decorated with Scandinavian-inspired pieces – think clean, uncluttered living spaces and classic, contemporary design. We adored the large windows and their quintessential Juliet balconies – although there's nowhere to sit on them, you can still throw open the French doors and watch the city pass by on the streets below. The kitchen is a little tiny – we think it's better suited towards light meals and smaller bites – and there's only one bathroom, but otherwise, this fantastically-placed pad is a great option for small groups or families wanting a typical Paris getaway.
