Recently renovated with a great deal of care (your host lives in this building too, so she's a big fan), it's up on a high floor of this beautiful Haussmannian building. Step inside and you'll find modern, calming shades of white, grey and pink, made all the more sophisticated thanks to a striking herringbone floor and a trio of period windows that look out over the rooftops.

Furnished with stylish, contemporary pieces and a lot of cleverly built-in storage, it's as practical as it is attractive. You'll have a small but perfectly formed kitchen, with everything you'll need for cooking at home, a breakfast bar and a cosy sofa. A room divider separates this living space from the bedroom and there's a desk so you can get some work done in comfort. And we love the marble bathroom with its big Italian shower.

Best of all, this home is in one of our favourite parts of the city. Vibrant and authentic, there are cafes and restaurants right on your doorstep, plus it's just a five-minute walk from Pigalle and ten from the Butte Montmartre.

With metro stations nearby and plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance, it makes an excellent base for both seasoned visitors and first-time tourists. The apartment itself is also a chic place to call home. We love the amount of light in the living area, as well as the character features like arched windows and herringbone floors. Just keep in mind that two guests will sleep on a sofa bed – a worthwhile compromise, given the central location.

On the eighth floor of a hotel building, this apartment is high up enough to be out of earshot of the exciting neighbourhood below, as well as high enough to see jaw-dropping views. From your private balcony and huge windows, admire sweeping 270-degree views of the city, including the Eiffel Tower itself. There’s such a vintage Pigalle feel to this home, with mid-century furnishings and a sexy vibe with black decor. Quirky artwork such as a lobster’s skeleton set in glass might sound odd, but everything works in harmony here to create the epitome of bohemian, sophisticated, Parisian chic. After a pain aux raisins and a café au lait, head ten minutes to the Sacré-Cœur, via winding slopes of Montmartre's uniquely artsy streets. Later (after a few cocktails), check out a gig at La Cigale or a show at the Moulin Rouge just two minutes away. And with metro stops all along the street (the closest being a one-minute walk), you don’t even need to stay local. Whether you’re keen to stay in South Pigalle for its theatres, music venues, comedy clubs, or cabarets, this apartment is the perfect base to experience it all. A floating staircase calls for eagle-eyed parenting in the living area, but the special services – such as grocery deliveries and spa treatments, give you great opportunities to relax.

Although there's quite a climb to get there without any lift, the views out of the six-storey windows, especially the glimpse of the Sacre Coeur are well worth the effort. Our favourite room is the living room, bright and trendy oozing style and character, a lovely spot to hang out after a day's exploration.

Known for its gorgeous Haussmannian buildings, historic museums and casual cafes, this corner of Paris is the perfect exploration base. It's just a fifteen-minute stroll to Sacré-Cœur Basilica and many metro stations are within walking distance when you want to venture out and about. Wander along the cobbled streets in the afternoon, then while away the evenings with wine and brie at one of the traditional French eateries. When you need a break from the festivities, head home to this cosy apartment and unwind in the bright living area. Knick-knacks, antique candlesticks and eclectic artwork dotted around create a comfortable, lived-in atmosphere and Juliet balconies on nearly every window only add to the traditional charm. Bookworms will be pleased to see a nice collection of titles to peruse – when you've found one that takes your fancy, the comfortable bench is the perfect spot to curl up and enjoy. If you’re in search of a central base from which to explore Paris, this apartment is a great option. You can stroll into the heart of Pigalle and you’ll find Galeries Lafayette and Palais Garnier Opera are within easy walking distance. Parking can be tricky here, but there are great public transport links and there is taxi stand nearby. It’s worth noting you will need to climb three flights of stairs to reach the apartment, but once inside there’s everything you could need to settle in and make it your own. The decor is simple, the rooms are family-friendly and it’s well-equipped for remote workers.

This cosy and compact studio is tucked away in the heart of Paris. Outside, you'll be perfectly placed for adventures across the city with an abundant choice of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Paid parking is available nearby and there are fantastic public transport links – making it easy to explore further afield. You’ll have access to a shared gym during your stay. Just take a look at the sweeping views of Paris from this studio apartment's private balcony – spot the Sacré-Coeur in the distance. It's the perfect place for alfresco lunches and enjoying a glass of wine in the evening. Location-wise, you'll love exploring some of the city's most charming neighbourhoods nearby, including Montmartre and Pigalle – both are a short walk away. Both the apartment and location here are excellent – let’s start with the home. One of the many highlights is the Eiffel Tower view from the private terrace accessed from the main bedroom. The other bedrooms offer views over the Parisian rooftops and there’s another balcony overlooking the street. The luxurious and timeless decor and furnishings here complement the Haussmann architecture. As mentioned, the address is wonderful too – you’ll be within walking distance of the iconic Louvre Museum, the Palais Royal and the Tuileries Gardens.

Boasting a desirable spot in the heart of Paris, this apartment places you only a short walk from the Louvre Museum, Tuileries Garden, and the trendy area of Le Marais. When you're exploring further, you'll also find Sentier Metro station lies just steps away. Note that the home is on the second floor of an apartment building with no lift, so you'll need to climb some stairs here. That said, the apartment is bright and modern, with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a fully-equipped kitchen and an open dining area for enjoying meals at home – that's if you're not out sampling the local cafes and eateries on your doorstep.

This 18th-century apartment set in the 2nd arrondissement is ticking all our boxes with its Juliet balcony windows and Rocaille-style antiques. Each of the three bedrooms is as expertly styled as the next, although if we were being picky, they feel a little short on floor space. But for such an unbeatable central location, we can forgive that. Call in on Mona Lisa at the Louvre Museum. Take a turn around the gardens of the Palais Royal. Or soak up the splendour of Notre Dame. It’s all within easy walking distance in the Montorgueil district.

Rocaille Retreat

Interiors are as stylish as they come at this light-filled apartment – but we’d expect nothing less for a home perched in the chic Bonne-Nouvelle district. An excellent option for those looking to work in Paris, both bedrooms have a dedicated desk space to keep on top of emails and the Metro is just a three-minute walk away should you need to blaze a trail to another corner of the city for a meeting. Here for the sightseeing? Head for the thriving pedestrian cobbled street of Rue Montorgueil – a food lover’s delight. Or wander over to Le Marais or Le Louvre – both within easy walking distance.

This home has all the modernity and style we’ve come to expect from a city loft. Formerly a railway company office, huge, warehouse-style windows fill the place with natural light and the double-height living room is a big open space made for socialising. A mix of pendant lamps and sparkling chandeliers blend industrial-chic with pure Parisian grandeur and we love the quirky touches like graffiti-style art on the wall and a film reel lamp on the coffee table. 

In the open space, you’ll find a dining table for the whole group, a hang-out corner with a sound system and foosball table, and a lounge lined with towering bookshelves. The kitchen is tucked beneath the mezzanine bedrooms and is super sleek in shining chrome. You’re in one of Paris’ artsy and most fashionable neighbourhoods here, packed with trendy bars, bistros and chichi cafés. It’s also only a fifteen-minute walk from the Gare du Nord if you’re arriving by Eurostar, while the Louvre and the Palais Garnier are both less than fifteen minutes away on the metro.

Paris’ 1st arrondissement isn’t number one for just any old reason. Home to the Louvre/Palais-Royal neighbourhood, this is a historically lavish part of the city where you'll find some of the biggest attractions. A four-minute walk from the Palais du Louvre itself, this apartment certainly continues on a majestic theme. Through a courtyard full of lush plants, the entrance to this building has the famous cream-coloured walls of Parisian homes that you’d expect. However, the interiors tell another story.
