This tranquil home has a location to match – it's a little out of the way but the neighbourhood is filled with quaint streets and independent businesses, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a more authentic Parisian experience.

This charming home in the 14th arrondissement, tucked away from the central bustle, would suit a family looking for ample space with bucket loads of character – and some outdoor greenery to boot. We couldn't help falling for its quirks, especially the creaky floors, squeaky doors and the beautiful painted ceiling in the master bedroom. From a bright conservatory kitchen to a secluded garden study, there are plenty of places to get the whole brood together as well as private nooks for quiet moments with a page-turner. Pack a picnic and take the five-minute walk over to Montsouris Park – we recommend finding a spot by the lake. The eerie Catacombs of Paris, sleek Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art and the famous La Closerie des Lilas café, frequented by Ernest Hemingway no less, are all within a twenty-minute stroll from your doorstep.

It's hard to impress us but this modern home, with its designer feel, smashes all our expectations. A beautiful family home in the historic 14th arrondissement, it's a truly unique find that will make you feel right at home  without compromising on Parisian style. We love the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area – a dream room to entertain in that is also ideal for curling up with a novel and glass of red wine. Slide the glass door open and you'll also find a small but perfectly formed outside space perfect for a sundowner after a busy day exploring the city. The surrounding neighbourhood is full of bohemian spirit, with traditional bistros and bustling cafés, with the main sights of Paris just a short Métro ride away.

Nestled away in the 14th arrondissement away from the throngs of tourists in the centre of Paris, this apartment is an excellent option for those travelling to the French capital as part of a larger group.

There's nothing cramped about the space, with plenty of areas in which guests can kick back and relax. On warmer days, the outdoor terrace and patio complete with seating and an alfresco table is sure to see plenty of use, but the beanbags in the lounge and the separate TV area are equally cosy. One thing that we're quite impressed by is the huge kitchen, which has enough room for two, or even three, to cook together at the same time — many hands making light work and all that.

Sticking on this side of the Seine, the Catacombs are just under twenty minutes away on foot if you fancy a subterranean tour of the city, while the leafy pathways of Jardin du Luxembourg take a similar amount of time on the metro if you prefer to stay above-ground.

This chic and stylish apartment is ideal for a couple or small group of friends seeking an attractive base in Paris. It’s in the 14th arrondissement, just a short stroll from the Catacombs. For seeing further-afield sights, you need only take a few steps to the Mouton Duvernet metro station. The apartment itself is spread over two floors, so there’s heaps of space, but it may not be suitable for everyone. We love the boho style, and the petite balcony is the perfect spot for your morning coffee.

Situated in a quiet street in the 14th district, there’s a Metro station within easy walking distance, so you can enjoy the buzz of central Paris with a peaceful base to retreat to. While the small space won’t suit everyone, we think it’s a great option for anyone wanting to drop their bags and explore. And when you’re not in the city centre, there’s lots to discover in the local area, with an array of shops, restaurants and parks nearby.

Vibrant and cheerful, this apartment is a dreamy place to stay in Paris. It’s in the 14th arrondissement, with excellent transport links to the rest of the city, and in easy reach of Montparnasse Tower and the Paris Catacombs. The apartment boasts a sunshine colour palette, so it’s warm and bright. The reception room is the real heart of the home, with a dining space, cosy lounge area, and even a piano. There’s also a charming kitchen, though with so many restaurants and cafes on your doorstep, you won’t need to cook here.

There are plenty of metro lines within easy reach, too – Saint-Germain-des-Prés, served by line four, is just a short walk away. We love the refined style of this chic apartment, with its beamed ceilings, spa-like en-suites, and hotel-quality bedding. Staying in Paris should always be this appealing. 

The Parisian Style

It's easy to see why we love this apartment. First, the location is incredible. You're smack-dab in artsy Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one of Paris' most emblematic neighbourhoods. Although we could spend all day discovering the boutiques and eateries here, it's extremely well-connected to the rest of the city if you'd like to venture further afield. Secondly, the apartment itself is a real gem. The design combines traditional features with all the modern conveniences you'll need. Space can be a little tight with the sofa bed in use, but there's plenty of room in the main suite and the second bathroom is a nice bonus. If you're after a quintessentially Parisian experience, this is it.

With You, In Paris

In the eaves of a characterful Haussmann building, this apartment makes a cosy base for couples. Upon entering, you're greeted by original wooden beams, A-frame ceilings, and elegant details. The kitchen has all you need to rustle up dinner – though plenty of gourmet eateries are nearby – while the living area is awash with natural light. Best of all is the location. Situated on the Île de la Cité, you'll be just a short walk from Notre Dame Cathedral, the Seine, and a metro station. All in all, we can't think of a better spot for two.

Exceptionally located on the Île de la Cité, this apartment puts Notre Dame at your fingertips. Cafes and eateries abound in the Latin Quarter (ideal as the kitchen here is a little small and lacks a table), or you can stroll along the river towards the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, and other landmarks if sightseeing tickles your fancy. Though the design is simple, the lounge is filled with light – and the views of the tree-lined Seine are a real highlight. It's the perfect base for couples keen to be in Paris' beating heart.

Sitting in a central spot to the south of the Seine, we're sure that you'll be just as smitten with this bright apartment as we are. There's a simply huge amount of natural light from the windows and doors that line the living space and this shines rather nicely off the stark white walls, wooden floor and sleek kitchen surfaces.

While it may not have the Haussmanian period charm of other homes in the French capital, the furnishings and finishes are all contemporary – even a little minimalist so in places – and there are no parts that we can identify as needing some urgent love and attention. There's plenty of room to kick back and relax after some serious sightseeing, while the smartly designed kitchen is plenty big enough should you decide you need a night off the city's famous restaurants.

Whenever you choose to leave the home, you'll be immediately greeted by the building's plant-filled courtyard, which is a pleasing pocket of green in the heart of the metropolis. Beyond that, it's easy to stroll over to some well-known attractions, including the Luxembourg Gardens and Les Invalides.

Polished Perfection

Situated on the historic Île de la Cité, you'll be just steps from the Pont-Neuf bridge and riverbanks of the Seine. Guests will want to get a taste of Paris and sample the nearby restaurants, especially since there's only a kitchenette here for grab-and-go breakfasts. While we love the beamed ceilings and lamplit interior, this apartment lacks natural light and air conditioning for the summer months. That said, this home offers a central base to sightseers who are eager to experience the French capital.

If you’re hoping for more space, we’d stick to a guest count of four to avoid guests five and six sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room.

If you're in Paris to sightsee, you won't find a better spot for it. A fifteen-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower, this apartment puts you smack dab in the heart of Paris. Sightseeing is a given here, but there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars nearby where you can soak up the atmosphere. Back home, the living space allows you to relax in style. There's also a compact but well-appointed kitchen, a collection of cosy bedrooms, and two sleek bathrooms plus a separate WC.
