Although the street below is fairly busy and lively, this apartment is a pocket of calm and the perfect spot to relax. We really loved the authenticity of the home – from the wooden flooring, exposed beam ceiling and elegant Parisian windows – the apartment keeps true to its roots. Enjoy your coffee and croissants around the vintage wooden dining table for two or simply spend lazy mornings sat in the sunshine with a good book. Light pours into the living space making a fresh and airy spot to unwind on the comfy sofas after an afternoon exploring the city.

If you're coming to Paris for the first time, a stay in Le Marais is highly recommended. The neighbourhood has the je ne sais quoi that people search for when they visit the French capital — winding cobbled streets, a wide choice of art galleries and plenty of late-night bars and cafes in which to enjoy a glass of red on a street-side table. This apartment is found in the heart of the area and despite the ceaseless activity happening at ground level, the space is as calm as they come. When you're not entertaining, your prime location on the famous Place de la République gives you plenty of options. For a start, the trendy North Marais — or NoMa if you want to impress the locals — is one street to the south, while galleries such as Centre Pompidou and Musée National Picasso-Paris can be reached in twenty minutes on foot.

There's a thoroughly polished feel to this Parisian apartment that was recently modernised by an interior designer. The kitchen is a chef-worthy space with its high-end appliances, marble countertops and striking gold light fitting, while the open-plan living space is ideal for evening drinks and socialising.
