You can stroll to Centre Pompidou and Place de la République in no time, and there are excellent transport links to the rest of Paris. The apartment is compact yet comfortable, equipped with everything you’ll need during your stay in the City of Lights. At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living room – if you’re hoping for more space and privacy, we recommend sticking to a guest count of two.

In the heart of Paris, these three apartments make one stylish home for large groups. The private courtyard offers space to sit outside with an alfresco meal or drink, though if you're planning on staying inside things might feel a bit cramped at full capacity. Several of the beds are on mezzanine levels and will be best suited to younger guests, making it ideal for groups travelling with children or teenagers. In a couple of the apartments, you'll find kitchenettes rather than full kitchens, but some of Paris's best restaurants are within walking distance. The central location does mean there may be some outside noise, but public transport is conveniently close by.

The interior follows a chic monochromatic theme, but it also scores highly in the comfort stakes, too. It would suit a large group or family planning to split their time between hitting the must-dos of Paris and discovering a neighbourhood that's brimming with activities and attractions, including Le Centre Pompidou — less than fifteen minutes' walk away. Despite this enviable position in the middle of the French capital, we found it to be quieter than we were expecting.

Not many apartments in Paris can say they have waterfront views, but this home in the lively Canal St-Martin overlooks the neighbourhood’s beautiful canal and its boats, local fishermen, swallows and ducks. The home itself is classically Hausmannian and beautifully decorated, with large windows, Hungarian point hardwood floors, marble fireplaces and intricate mouldings that contribute to its old-world regality. Bright blue velvet couches and vibrant contemporary artwork brings a pop of colour and ground us firmly in the 21st century – as do the TV, air conditioning and modern kitchen. We love that the couches face each other to create a lounge conducive to conversation, while the large dining table can seat up to twelve guests for an animated dinner party. If you don’t feel like eating in though, you’re staying in the right place. You’ll find excellent bars and restaurants in this busy neighbourhood teeming with artists and musicians. Plus, you’ll be around the corner from what is widely considered the best bakery in Paris – Du Pain et des Idées – so grab some of their delectable pastries to enjoy on the banks of the canal (or on your private balcony). On the weekends, the city closes the area for pedestrians – making a canal-side stroll or bike ride particularly pleasant. Should you want to reach other corners of the city, the Place de la République metro station is a quick five minutes’ walk away.

Just like the nearby area of Le Marais, colour is king in every room of this charming apartment. From the yellow kitchen to the blue and palm-print feature walls in the bedrooms, the use of colour brings a playful and uplifting vibe. While the main living area is open plan, the clever decor helps create three distinct spaces. The Persian rug is the chill-out area where you can kick back with a pinot noir and some music. The pale wooden floors represent the dining area, where you can feast with your friends. Tucked away on a quiet block within this arty quarter, the clean, white facade simply cannot prepare you for the interiors. A joyous cacophony of art and design sings out to you from the moment you step inside. With a unique cartoon mural and Keith Haring-style feature walls, feast your eyes on a space that feels nothing like traditional Paris. The light-hearted and colourful decor is contrasted by the classy dining area, and the sophisticated architecture of the mezzanine bedroom floor. As much as you might like to stay in, the local area is also full of vibrant surprises. Ten minutes away on foot, head for dinner and drinks at the Cour des Petites Écuries, a cool area for eating out with local creative types. And just fifteen minutes from home, one of the city’s oldest districts, Le Marais, is the place to go for unique shops, cafés, and cocktails. Of course, some classic sights of Paris are close by. Place de la République is only a five-minute walk and is also home to a metro stop – ideal for exploring further afield.

With a country-house style dining room boasting a large dining table and ornate fireplace, as well as a separate sleek, marble top kitchen I was amazed at just how much space there was - even if you did choose to accommodate a couple of extra guests on the sofa bed in the living area. Perhaps not for those seeking a more colourful, design-centric space, the bedroom is pretty basic in terms of decor, but it does have a charming Juliette balcony filling the room with plenty of natural light.

Three of the four bedrooms are set-up like upscale hotel rooms complete with their own television as well as a place to sit down and work. Situated in a cool neighbourhood right next to République station, where events, protests and concerts are held frequently. To cap it off, your host, Anthony, is so sweet and eager to accommodate his guests – an added highlight!

We love the spa here, with its sauna and jacuzzi, lit with candles – who wouldn’t? Pour a glass of Champagne from the bar and completely unwind on the beautiful mezzanine, play some pool or get some fresh air on the terrace. 

Situated in the heart of the Haut Marais, a chic and central spot, you’ll find plenty of sophisticated eateries, as well as cool galleries and stylish shops on your doorstep. If you’re looking for creative inspiration – it’s under a twenty-minute walk to the Musée National Picasso-Paris, as well as the Pompidou Centre, though this stunning abode offers more than enough on its own.

The stunning cladding carries through to the peaceful master bedroom, where it contrasts nicely with the original floorboards. A cool and diverse neighbourhood, Canal St Martin has plenty of great bakeries and South-East Asian restaurants to tempt you out of your apartment, plus plenty of vibrant bars to keep the party going into the night. On Sundays, your canalside location right by comes into its own. Quai de Valmy is one of two streets reserved exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists each weekend – an ideal opportunity to saddle up and explore the neighbourhood under your own steam. And on warm days, it's the perfect picnic spot as you people-watch by the water. 

Five Miles on the Canal

This beautiful home is designed to host guests in style – we love the architectural spiral staircase, as well as the large loft windows and skylight, bringing in plenty of natural light. The open-plan kitchen, island and table combination is excellent for big family meals, but if you prefer to eat out, the home is situated in a cool neighbourhood, right next to République station. Canal St-Martin, (nine minutes away on foot), with its towpaths, locks and bridges, is perfect for a romantic stroll. Or head to fashionable Le Marais, just over a fifteen-minute saunter, for hip boutiques, stylish art galleries, and cosmopolitan bars. Not only does this home have a fabulous location, but to cap it all off, Anthony is a fantastic host. He thinks of everything from providing Nespresso pods for your morning coffee to umbrellas to keep you dry while you're sightseeing.

This chic apartment is perfect for families, friends, and couples seeking a cosy base in Paris. It’s in the 10th arrondissement, one of the liveliest parts of the city, with a wealth of restaurants and bars nearby. Shoppers will love having designer boutiques within easy reach, and culture-vultures will enjoy the proximity to excellent museums and galleries. The apartment is attractive and equipped with everything you might need for a city break, though we’d recommend a guest count of two if you’re seeking more privacy as the mezzanine-level bedroom is open to the living space below.

Inside, it's a timeless canvas of high ceilings and hardwood floors, adorned with a sophisticated blend of contemporary and mid-century decor. Double French windows, embraced by wrought-iron grills, beckon sunlight to flood the space, and we love the free-flowing layout, creating a calming ambience primed for relaxation. 

After a restful slumber, spend slow mornings in this chic pad, brewing espressos on the Moka pot and tucking into croissants from the artisan bakery downstairs, Sain Boulangerie. Enjoy a morning stroll along the tree-lined canal, admiring elegant iron footbridges, trendy eateries and bars and boasts passing through, before heading to Parc des Buttes-Chaumont for a picnic in the sunshine.

Colourful and chic, this delightful apartment is an excellent choice of base for a Paris stay. It’s in the lively Faubourg Saint-Martin district but is tucked away at the end of a pretty courtyard, giving it a peaceful atmosphere that belies its central location. The apartment is chic and cosy, with an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen space at its heart. Two comfortable, attractive bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, though there’s only one WC for all six guests. Two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living room – if you’re hoping for more space and privacy, we’d stick to a maximum of four guests. 

Le Saint-Martin

You’ll find this apartment in the Strasbourg-Saint-Denis neighbourhood, a short walk from small plate restaurants, trendy bars and laidback cafes. Château d’Eau metro station is four minutes away, connecting you to the Sacré Coeur and Palais Garnier in no more than twenty. The home is ideal for any family or group of friends, though four guests will be on sofa beds at capacity. You’ll find everything you need in the kitchen for recreating French classics, and there are desks in the bedrooms for those mixing business with pleasure.

If you suspect that staying in a loft in one of Paris' most exciting neighbourhoods might be the life for you, then this home is the perfect pick. The open-plan living space is thoroughly modern, with crisp, white walls and a giant skylight that ushers in plenty of natural light. Retro lovers will enjoy hours of entertainment with the old-school arcade game machine, while fitness fanatics can use the collection of weights for an invigorating workout. The Canal Saint-Martin is just two minutes away, and while this area is not especially central, it has become one of the coolest neighbourhoods in recent years. And, if you want to head into the heart of the city, just hop on the métro at Jacques Bonsergent station to arrive there in around fifteen minutes.

Boasting charming lived-in spaces with period features and a modern decor, there are also lots of entertainment options here. With two children's bedrooms with a trundle bed each, it allows for plenty of flexibility and makes a great match for a young family. Our favourite room? Its modern kitchen-diner without doubt – not only is it well-equipped but it's a light-filled sociable space for cooking and sharing family meals.

Madeline's interiors are a fresh and contemporary take on a large, family home. The immediate neighbourhood is popular and lively, with many shops, restaurants, museums and theatres nearby. While some noise can be heard from the street when the windows are open, the stylish design of the home and bright living room more than make up for this. Cook up a feast in the modern kitchen and enjoy a night in around the large dining table.

That being said, there is enough space to take the guest count up to eight people, if two guests don't mind sleeping on the sofa bed.
