Our favourite feature, without a doubt, is the private leafy terrace. As it’s heated, you can spend peaceful mornings here with a good book and a cup of coffee or evening drinks as the sun sets, at any time of year. While we wouldn’t blame you for wanting to stay holed up in your arty haven, go out and explore the nearby sights – of which there are many. Feeling groovy? This snug but stylish apartment is influenced by retro design. We love the candy pink kitchen and colourful floral wallpaper. One bedroom and bathroom are in the basement – take care, as the stairs are a bit steep – with the rest of the rooms conveniently located on the ground floor. It's not the biggest in terms of space, especially with the sofa bed in use, but we think it's perfectly functional for smaller groups. As for location, the 11th arrondissement is full of quaint bakeries, vintage shops, and sidewalk cafes frequented by locals. Exploring further afield is also easy, thanks to the nearby metro station.

This family home in Paris boasts unbeatable views over Place de la Bastille – the Colonne de Juillet feels like it’s in your very living room.
