The French windows in the living room look out over an internal courtyard, so it’s blissfully quiet – perfect if you want to curl up on the velvet sofa with a book from the mini-library. An art lover’s paradise – this home is situated a four-minute stroll from the Pompidou Centre, while the Musée National Picasso-Paris is ten minutes on foot. If you’re more of a poetry fan, then head to Musée Victor Hugo, once the home of the Romantic movement poet, novelist and playwright, a fifteen-minute saunter away. Or, sample the stylish bars and restaurants, as well as hip galleries and boutiques on your doorstep in this Le Marais location. The iconic Notre Dame, on the other hand, is under a twenty-minute walk. 

Back at this stylish home, take a seat on the enclosed patio and enjoy a glass of French rosé wine. Still, it's the Musée National Picasso-Paris and the Maison Européene de la Photographie that should be at the top of the list. Elsewhere Le Marais is known for offering Paris' best shopping experience along the nearby Rue des Francs Bourgeois, a selection of fantastic restaurants to suit any budget, as well as being the hipster hub of the city's LGBTQ+ scene. Arriving at the majestic, marble-clad entrance is like stepping back in time - and things only get better as you take flight up to this light-filled treasure. 

As a new day dawns, fling the windows wide and let the sounds of Le Marais' happening streets drift in from below. Then get together for a tête-à-tête over coffee and croissants at the bistro table. The small but perfectly formed kitchen has everything you need to rustle up breakfast.

And after days of exploring the city of light, draw the drapes to let the apartment take on a sumptuous feel with the chandeliers all aglow. Sink into the twin armchairs with some pre-dinner drinks or draw yourself a well-deserved bubbly bath – there's fluffy dressing gowns and slippers at the ready. This luminous apartment in Le Marais is perfect for couples. Considered one of the city's most desirable neighbourhoods, this area boasts trendy cafes, fashionable boutiques, and upscale restaurants – and they're all just a short stroll from your door. French windows flood the living space with light and offer views of the medieval church across the road. Your host has a selection of books to choose from, and the kitchen is well-suited to rustling up meals using produce from the local market. There may not be a lift to the fourth floor, but factor in the proximity to a metro station (a three-minute walk) and it's no surprise that this gem caught our eye.

You’re going to need to be a fan of blue for a stay at this pad in Le Marais, with its bold blue floors and vibrant style. It’s a modern spot for unwinding between sightseeing adventures, and while there’s space for nine guests, we think that you might be more comfortable with a lower guest count. There’s a practical kitchen for light meals at home and a desk for remote workers. And with Le Marais’ boutiques, galleries and restaurants on your doorstep, you’re all set for your city break.

This pad is a great spot for those visiting Paris with a packed itinerary. The interior style is bold, and the space may feel a little cramped with all nine guests, but the open-plan living space is a loely spot for unwinding together. There's also a desk facing the window, so you'll have plenty of natural light if you’re working from home. Should you wish to explore further afield, Rambuteau metro station is right around the corner, although we think you'll spend most of your time mooching around the boutiques, bars and hidden backstreets nearby. And if it's a gallery day you’re seeking, Le Centre Pompidou and Le Louvre are a short walk from your door.

Set within a calm courtyard in the heart of Le Marais, this flat is an oasis of serenity within the buzz of central Paris. We love the exposed ceiling beams and the floating stairs that lead up to the mezzanine bedroom. Cocooned within a wrought-iron frame, this comfortable space feels rustic and warm in contrast to the contemporary decor of the ground level main room. The bold blue sofa beckons to be relaxed in, while the dining nook invites slow breakfasts over chats about the day ahead’s activities. Speaking of things to do, you couldn’t be better placed to see Paris’ main sights. You’re just a ten-minute walk from Notre-Dame and a fifteen-minute stroll from the Louvre and Place des Vosges. The Centre Pompidou is also just around the corner, three minutes away on foot. After a day of exploring, come back home for a glass of wine in the shared courtyard before dining out at one of the neighbourhood’s stellar restaurants. Niched in the heart of the lower Marais, you're only minutes away from the regal Place des Vosges and the surrounding pedestrian streets teeming with cafés, vintage stores and bistros.

The central location makes it a great base for work trips, and the proximity to cafes and restaurants makes it easy to indulge in local cuisine if you don't feel like cooking. You'll find some of the city's best bits within walking distance, including the Louvre and the Notre Dame Cathedral. Inside, the decor is quintessentially Parisian and the private balcony is great for sitting out and enjoying an alfresco coffee. Space is tight here so you'll want to pack light, but the sofa bed in the living room adds some flexibility to the sleeping arrangements, making it ideal for family and friends.

It might be slightly on the smaller side, but this home sure does pack a punch. Situated just around the corner from the Centre Pompidou, it enjoys an enviable location on the top floor of a 19th-century apartment building in the heart of the 4th arrondissement. 

Despite having been totally renovated, this place has managed to retain its old-school charm, featuring exposed brickwork and stunning beamed ceilings that branch out from the living room to the bedroom. The real highlight, though, is the terrace, where we’d highly recommend unwinding with your apéritif of choice after a busy day of sightseeing. And when it comes to mealtimes, living in Le Marais means you won’t have to venture far for a taste of your favourite bistro dishes.

With an ideal location in the very heart of the city, this apartment is an excellent choice for all travelling types. Art lovers look no further than the Pompidou Centre across the road for modern and contemporary exhibitions – should you fancy stretching your legs, the Louvre is just over a ten-minute walk away. For the history buffs and first-time visitors, the Notre Dame is fifteen minutes by foot and the Pantheon only ten minutes more. When it comes to food, you’ll be tripping over the assortment of mouth-watering restaurants in your immediate postcode. There are more vistas to enjoy from the large living space, and check out that vibrant feature wall in the dining area. We love the bedrooms too with their floating beds. With such a fantastic location, you may hear a bit of street noise, but there’s so much to explore on your doorstep here. The apartment is located in the 4th arrondissement, just a short stroll from Le Marais, the River Seine and the Latin Quarter.

Nestled on the fifth floor, you’ll need to be fit to climb the stairs to this apartment – but we think the cityscape views from the balcony are worth it. Inside is cosy, and you’ll need to watch your head on the low ceilings on the upper floor – particularly in the bathroom, which is a bit of a squeeze. That said, this is an ideal base for a couple wanting to explore the city with ease. And while the kitchen is best for light bites, there’s a whole host of Parisian cuisine on your doorstep waiting to be enjoyed.

The banks of the Seine are lined with artists, booksellers and some of Paris’ most magnificent sights. Position yourself on the river’s edge at this typically Parisian apartment. On Île de la Cité, you are quite literally in the heart of Paris – the iris-like island of the Seine. Notre Dame is your neighbour, a two-minute walk from your front door. The Latin Quarter, famous for its independent bookshops and student cafés is in one direction, while Paris’ artsiest neighbourhood, Le Marais, is in the other. The master bedroom is a real highlight too, with hotel style linens and a quality mattress that is guaranteed to send you off to the land of Nod. Although the home feels lived in it's the little details that makes the difference here.

A basic home in a great location, the heart of Le Marais close to Rambuteau station. There is so much happening in the neighbourhood, with great shops, cafes, restaurants and museums. The space itself is well laid-out with plenty of room for two guests. This home definitely favours function over form, well-equipped with a dishwasher oven and microwave. The decor is not stylish and those who favour looks will be disappointed. However it's well-priced and the location is unbeatable so as a base to jump from and explore the city it's an excellent choice.
