A home steeped in history, La Dauphine is located in an ancient religious house – the convent of Saint Marie. As you walk through each room, you can feel the spirituality washing over you, resulting in a sense of calm and peace. The style and decoration have been very sympathetic to the history of the building, with a traditional aesthetic and antiques throughout. Budding chefs might want to note the compact kitchen. While it's perfect for knocking up light bites, this home would perhaps be more suited for those gourmand guests wishing to go out to eat. You're in luck, however, given the apartment's proximity to a host of incredible restaurants. Enjoy grilled fish and lobster at Restaurant Gaya (a one-minute walk), neat bistro plates at the always-booked Racines des Prés (two minutes away), or modern French fare at La Laiterie Saint-Clotilde (a five-minute walk).

Steeped in history, La Favourite is located in the old convent of Saint Marie. The style and decoration call on the origins of the building, with duck egg blue walls, pastel hues and gorgeous antiques alongside all the usual mod-cons needed for a comfortable stay in the city of love. You'll have a real restful night's sleep here in the soothing bedroom, after a relaxing soak in the rainfall shower and contemporary metro-tiled bathroom. A word of caution for those wanting to cook, the kitchen is more of a kitchenette, so the home would be more suited for those guests who enjoy eating out. Luckily, we hear the food's pretty good in Paris. In fact, you're beautifully placed for dining in style, as there's a dazzling array of fine-dining restaurants and authentic eateries in the Saint Germain district. You're also a fourteen-minute stroll from the Louvre, in case you're in need of a culture fix – although, at this characterful home, we don't think you will be.

Wow was the first word we uttered when we saw the views from the living room of the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, Montparnasse Tower and the West Parisian rooftops. But that was just the start – the large terrace with tables and chairs, as well as a long balcony has incredible vistas of Notre Dame, Église Saint-Sulpice, and Église de Saint Germain des Prés – this place is truly divine. Enjoy some oysters and Champagne here as you take in the breathtaking city panorama. 

Each bedroom has its own private balcony, too, so there's plenty of outdoor space, and with air conditioning, you're guaranteed to keep your cool. Unwind on the blue velvet sofa before heading out to explore this exclusive neighbourhood.

It's a five-minute amble to the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens – perfect for a romantic wander through the rose gardens and orchards. Or soak in the atmosphere at Saint Germain market, just eight minutes on foot. There are plenty of high-end boutiques, boulangeries and stylish eateries right on your doorstep too. 

Alternatively, culture vultures can head to Théâtre du Vieux Colombier, a four-minute stroll or go to the local cinema a twelve-minute saunter away. A characterful home if ever we saw one in an exceptional location, a stone's throw away from Saint-Germain metro station – this was an inevitable addition to the Plum collection. The decoration is bold yet brilliant, with a mix of thick grey horizontal and vertical stripes alongside exposed brick walls, old rustic beams and solid wooden doors complete with their original steel latches. It should be warned, that there is no air conditioning so things can get hot during the summer months, this aside, the home is well-equipped, with everything you'd need for a comfortable stay in Paris.

Pocket-sized it may be, this apartment is the epitome of Parisian living. It places you in one of the city's most emblematic neighbourhoods, Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Sidewalk cafes, independent boutiques and antique shops characterise this area. But, even without leaving home, you can bask in the charm of it all. The French doors lead straight onto a cobblestone street, while inside, the layout is compact but cosy. We love the little details, from the record player to the well-equipped (albeit small) kitchen. This chic apartment in the 7th arrondissement has a wrap-around terrace to take advantage of. Featuring postcard-perfect views of the hustle and bustle below, you'll want to spend every sun-kissed afternoon sipping Champagne and basking in the Parisian ambience. Even indoors, the views are lovely. Framed by panoramic windows, the dining area offers a glimpse of Notre Dame, Saint Sulpice and the Pantheon. When you're not out exploring, you'll find plenty to keep you busy here – from the piano to the library of books. It’s within walking distance of the Luxembourg Gardens and Orsay Museum, among many other famous sights. There are chic bars, cafes, and restaurants nearby. Saint Germain des Près metro station is close, too, so getting around Paris is as easy as can be. For a location like this, there are some compromises to make: two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living space, and the decor is corporate in style. It’s also worth pointing out that the lift only goes up to the fifth floor, so to reach this sixth-floor home, you’ll need to be able to climb a flight of stairs.
