When you're exploring further, you'll also find Sentier Metro station lies just steps away. Note that the home is on the second floor of an apartment building with no lift, so you'll need to climb some stairs here. That said, the apartment is bright and modern, with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a fully-equipped kitchen and an open dining area for enjoying meals at home – that's if you're not out sampling the local cafes and eateries on your doorstep.

This apartment welcomes you to a calm sanctuary in the heart of the city. Located in a traditional Haussmann building, the rooms perfectly embody classic Parisian style. You will also find plenty of socialising space across the living and dining room, while the bedrooms bring ease and comfort to daily living. Housekeeping is included in your stay and there is a concierge on hand to organise extras like private chefs and grocery deliveries. There is no private parking here, but you will find shops, galleries and restaurants all within easy walking distance.

The Seine and Notre Dame Cathedral are your neighbours in this charming apartment. Set on the sought-after île-de-la-Cité, you'll be well-placed to explore on foot. Restaurants and cafes abound in the nearby Latin Quarter. Or, if seeing the sights is more your speed, you can stroll along the river towards the Louvre and Eiffel Tower. Back home, the climb to the fourth floor won't suit everyone, but we think the views overlooking the streets are worth it. The kitchen is a tad small and there isn't a dining space, but overall, it's a cosy and comfortable base for two.

This apartment is in the heart of Paris - it is right on the banks of the River Seine, between the bridges Pont Neuf and Pont des Art. The decor is luxurious throughout - the interiors may be a little flashy for some but the whimsical and indulgent touches complement the exposed ceiling beams and features of this 1830's apartment. The round bed with its freestanding bathtub in the bedroom bring an air of romance while the toilet is injected with disco vibes through the shiny golden surfaces. A perfect apartment for a couple visiting Paris.

What a treat this home is. Set in one of our favourite parts of the city, just on the banks of the river, it's tucked away in such a peaceful little courtyard you may find it hard to comprehend you're in the centre of Paris. This ground-floor apartment has been refurbished recently and mixes period features like high ceilings with modern minimalism, a sleek white kitchen and a touch of industrial styling. Comfortable, bright and surprisingly private, it's a real retreat away from the bustling city streets.

Step outside each morning and grab a coffee and croissant as you stroll along the Seine – it's just a six-minute walk to take in the impressive view of Notre Dame, currently being restored. Close to the buzzing Latin Quarter, there's no shortage of great places to eat, drink and shop, and most of the city's big attractions are within walking distance.

While we love the beamed ceilings and lamplit interior, this apartment lacks natural light and air conditioning for the summer months. That said, this home offers a central base to sightseers who are eager to experience the French capital.
