Nestled in the historic Latin Quarter, this home is excellently located for exploring. Walk five minutes in one direction and you'll reach the spires of Notre Dame, while nine minutes the opposite way lies the leafy Luxembourg Gardens. Charming bookstores, local eateries and cosy cafes abound in this neighbourhood, so if living like a true Parisian is what you're after, you can't go wrong with this postcode. Inside, it's minimally decorated with Scandinavian-inspired pieces – think clean, uncluttered living spaces and classic, contemporary design. We adored the large windows and their quintessential Juliet balconies – although there's nowhere to sit on them, you can still throw open the French doors and watch the city pass by on the streets below. The kitchen is a little tiny – we think it's better suited towards light meals and smaller bites – and there's only one bathroom, but otherwise, this fantastically-placed pad is a great option for small groups or families wanting a typical Paris getaway.

One of Paris' most famous landmarks is your neighbour at this central apartment. Notre Dame is only a short walk away, but next door is the Church of Saint-Séverin. It may not be as iconic as its neighbour but it’s just as beautiful – and you'll be treated to panoramas of the gothic architecture from the living room windows. View aside, we love the space on offer here, even if the second bedroom is a tad snug and two guests will sleep on a sofa bed. The contemporary finishes are a nice touch, too. There's a soaker bath, a sleek kitchen, and even air conditioning – no wonder it caught our eye.

Outside, it’s less than a ten-minute stroll to Notre Dame, and you’ll find cafes, restaurants and shops all within easy reach. There is no private parking available here, but you’ll find great public transport links and your host can arrange a private chauffeur service. Inside, the bedroom and living room are separated by a glass wall – a clever design feature that ensures you have plenty of space to switch off and unwind. At full occupancy one guest will be sleeping on the sofa bed, but this is a handy option for families travelling with children.

In an art nouveau building located in the latin quarter, you can find this light and bright home that ticks every box. The large windows are luminous, drenching each room in light, as well as offering stunning views of the Eiffel tower. Decorated in a Scandi-style, the rooms are minimal and pared-back, yet cosy and warm – a delight after a day's exploration. The kitchen is well-equipped, ideal to cook up a storm, but there's only a small counter to enjoy dinner at, so a better choice for those who want to eat out.

The Panthéon, Notre Dame, and the Louvre are also within walking distance – now that's convenient for sightseeing. Each bedroom has its own marble en-suite and a desk as well – ideal if you’re here on business or leisure.

A home for those who prioritise decluttered spaces and a great postcode, Redberry is located in the historic Latin Quarter, just a 5-minute walk from Île de la Cité and Notre-Dame. While its minimal look will probably not feature on interior design magazine covers, we valued its bright spaces and coherent aesthetic. A couple will find it's a home that's perfectly equipped as a comfortable base in the city.

A trip to Paris is always a magical experience – particularly when your base is as romantic and charming as this rare gem of an apartment. Situated on the Left Bank and overlooking the majestic Notre Dame, you could hardly ask for a more enchanting spot. 

But the thrills aren’t confined to the location alone – the inside is just as exciting. We love the old-world feel of this place, with its high ceilings, wooden floors and ornamental wall carvings. The host also made every effort to preserve the apartment’s period ambience – you’ll find yourself surrounded by unique art pieces, plush furnishings and of course those decorative fireplaces are impossible to resist. Kick off your shoes and relax after a long day of exploring the City of Light, snuggling up on the sofa or enjoying a light supper for two at the dining table. 

While the kitchenette is compact in size and more suited for preparing quick meals rather than elaborate feasts, there’s certainly no shortage of great restaurants in the vicinity, should you crave a fine dining experience.

We love this home for its location within an authentic enclave that's a stone's throw from Luxembourg Gardens and the Latin Quarter. The home itself is more functional than sumptuous, although it does shine for its great cleanliness standards. A well presented terrace offers the option of enjoying a drink or meal al fresco, while there's also a cocktail bar just downstairs, and although it's more of a boozer, it's still a great spot for a classic cocktail. A couple looking for a base from which to explore the nightlife of the Latin Quarter need look no further.

Game of Chess is a lovely home celebrating Second Empire style, ideal for more mature guests with distinguished taste. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming with soft carpet underfoot and comfy furniture to snuggle up on with a good book. Located in the Rive Gauche district which is a safe and secure area, although not particularly near a station, so this home may feel slightly out of the way for those needing a central Parisian locale.

Incredibly furnished with antiques, treasures, art and sculptures and perfectly located to boot, this home is hard to complain about. Based in the heart of the Latin Quarter, you get a great view of the Place de la Contrescarpe from the bright living room. It should be warned, Trinkets & Travels is only available for a long stay booking rather than a tourist trip to Paris.

Located on Rue Saint-Jacques, one of the oldest streets in Paris, you’ll be a short stroll from the Jardin du Luxembourg. The Panthéon and Notre Dame are also both within walking distance. Situated on the first floor of a 400-year-old building (without a lift), this apartment faces the communal garden and inner courtyard and offers a relaxing place to stay. We love the glimpses of the Panthéon over the Parisian rooftops, and the open-plan living space has a sofa bed for guests three and four. There’s also a desk in the bedroom if you need to work while away in this vibrant city.

In the eaves of a characterful Haussmann building, this apartment makes a cosy base for couples. Upon entering, you're greeted by original wooden beams, A-frame ceilings, and elegant details. Situated on the Île de la Cité, you'll be just a short walk from Notre Dame Cathedral, the Seine, and a metro station. All in all, we can't think of a better spot for two.

Comfortable, bright and surprisingly private, it's a real retreat away from the bustling city streets.

Step outside each morning and grab a coffee and croissant as you stroll along the Seine – it's just a six-minute walk to take in the impressive view of Notre Dame, currently being restored. Close to the buzzing Latin Quarter, there's no shortage of great places to eat, drink and shop, and most of the city's big attractions are within walking distance.
