Although the location is great, we’ll start with the apartment itself – you can see why with views like this. The vistas from the balcony over the Eiffel Tower, River Seine and the Quai des Orfèvres are fantastic. The open-plan living room and main bedroom have a wonderful outlook too. Now about the location – the home is situated on the exclusive Île de la Cité, so there are plenty of riverside strolls to be had. The nearby iconic Notre-Dame de Paris is also a short walk away, while across the Pont Neuf, you’ll find the Louvre Museum.

This apartment’s address is great – it’s a short walk from the Musée des Arts et Métiers and the Centre Pompidou. Other places of interest within walking distance include the Louvre Museum and Palais Royal. Back at this apartment, we love the views from the open-plan living room’s balcony of the typically Parisian architecture. This room also sleeps guests three and four on a comfy sofa bed. Another bonus of staying here is there's free access to a shared gym too – this place is ideal for business and leisure travellers alike.

The kitchen is a tad snug, but there are plenty of places nearby to grab a coffee and a bite to eat.

It’s not always possible to get outdoor space in cities like Paris, but luckily this home has a balcony overlooking a communal courtyard. Just off the terrace, there’s a bright living room which also sleeps guests nine and ten on a sofa bed. Another bonus of this apartment is that all the bedrooms are en-suite. When you want to explore, the Palais Garnier is a short walk away, while the Jardin des Tuileries and the Place de la Concorde are also reachable on foot.

We fell head over heels for this charming home before even stepping foot over the threshold. Why? You really couldn't be better placed. Just a two-minute walk from Paris' most loved art gallery: the Louvre Museum. While you're only six minutes (on foot) to the Palais Royal and a short eleven-minute stroll to Tuileries Gardens. Although the street below is fairly busy and lively, this apartment is a pocket of calm and the perfect spot to relax. We really loved the authenticity of the home – from the wooden flooring, exposed beam ceiling and elegant Parisian windows – the apartment keeps true to its roots. Enjoy your coffee and croissants around the vintage wooden dining table for two or simply spend lazy mornings sat in the sunshine with a good book. Light pours into the living space making a fresh and airy spot to unwind on the comfy sofas after an afternoon exploring the city.

This home is also just a short stroll away from the Musée du Chocolat and the chocolate theme continues with this apartment’s cocoa-coloured decor. There are two king-size bedrooms with en-suites here and a comfy sofa bed for guests five and six as well. Stepping inside to look around the decor, you'll notice colourful velvet furnishings, original lighting and impressive art objects. Bright and roomy, the sociable open-plan living space is bathed in natural light. Sink into the plush sofa while flicking through an art book from the marble-topped coffee table. Rustle up a croque madame in the brass-fitted kitchen to enjoy around the industrial-chic dining table. And with so much to see and do around here, ensure you save time for a little afternoon nap – the moody master bedroom makes for an ideal spot to get some rest. With ethnic ornaments and dramatic lighting, we really loved both rooms. Plus, there's the glamorous black-tiled bathroom that's perfect for getting all dressed up before heading out. You'll find the surrounding area full of life with playful Parisians frequenting an array of hip cocktail bars and luxury boutiques. Plunge into the spirit of Marais by looking around the local art galleries or even walking to Notre Dame Cathedral – it's under twenty minutes away.

Just a short stroll from the iconic Louvre Museum, the Jardin des Tuileries and the Palais Royal – the location couldn’t be much better if you’re looking for a cultural break. Other attractions within walking distance include the Place de la Concorde and the Centre Pompidou. This home has all the modernity and style we’ve come to expect from a city loft. Formerly a railway company office, huge, warehouse-style windows fill the place with natural light and the double-height living room is a big open space made for socialising. A mix of pendant lamps and sparkling chandeliers blend industrial-chic with pure Parisian grandeur and we love the quirky touches like graffiti-style art on the wall and a film reel lamp on the coffee table. 

In the open space, you’ll find a dining table for the whole group, a hang-out corner with a sound system and foosball table, and a lounge lined with towering bookshelves. The kitchen is tucked beneath the mezzanine bedrooms and is super sleek in shining chrome. You’re in one of Paris’ artsy and most fashionable neighbourhoods here, packed with trendy bars, bistros and chichi cafés. It’s also only a fifteen-minute walk from the Gare du Nord if you’re arriving by Eurostar, while the Louvre and the Palais Garnier are both less than fifteen minutes away on the metro.

We love this architect-designed apartment’s elegant open-plan living space – it’s perfect for spending quality time with your family and friends. Less than five minutes' walk from the opulence of Palais-Royal, there's something quite palatial about this apartment, too. Some of this is down to the high ceilings and tall windows, but there's also a noticeable touch of grandeur in its modern design.

However, the apartment's lavish size is a major reason, too. The mezzanine arrangement increases the living area in the home without it ever feeling cramped in any way, while open-plan modern kitchen is perfect for socialising whilst you try your hand at French cuisine.

Another big perk with this home is that many of the city's most famous attractions are but a short wander away. For instance, the Louvre takes seven minutes to reach on foot and its contemporary acquaintance, the Centre Pompidou, is a thirteen-minute walk.

Although it's on the smaller side, it's a cosy space to wind down following a busy day exploring the city. The post stamp balcony is perfect for two to enjoy an apéritif in the evening sun, while the relaxed vibe in the living area is a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle outside. This neighbourhood is a lively hub of shops and eateries, and it's known for secret passages and traditional nineteenth-century Parisian arcades that hark back to a different era. Quatre Septembre station is mere moments from your door, but many of the city's must-see sights are within walking distance. Admire the Mona Lisa at the Louvre (a twelve-minute walk), do a bit of shopping on Rue St-Honoré (eight minutes away), or if you're feeling up for it, make the climb to Sacré-Cœur in thirty minutes and admire the breathtaking views.

Set across two levels, the rooms are an art lovers dream. Both bedrooms have access to a private bathroom and there is the handy addition of a sofa bed in the living area.

With Notre Dame in one direction and the Louvre in the other, you won't find a location in Paris better than this. Housed in a listed building dating back to 1860, the apartment's original features are impressive, though as you'd expect with a home of this heritage, there are a few quirks. Two bedrooms are adjoined with a glass door partition – great for a small family sharing, but it won't suit everyone. It's also worth noting the last two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the lounge. But we're happy to let that slide for such a stylish, elegant home with a knockout location.

This apartment works nicely for those seeking a base in central Paris. Though two guests will sleep on a sofa bed, there's just enough room to unwind in the lounge. Both bedrooms feature serpentine wallpaper inspired by Tibetan murals – it adds a whimsical touch to your nightly routine. The kitchen has all you need to rustle up a bite to eat, though we suggest dining out at the restaurants on your doorstep. Speaking of location, you're well-connected by metro or on foot to all the must-sees – be it the Louvre, Le Marais, Opera Garnier, or Notre Dame.

It’s on a semi-pedestrian street just 50 metres from Sentier metro, surrounded by shops and bars. The apartment is bright and attractive, a converted loft on the third floor of the building – you’ll need to be ready to tackle quite a few stairs. The bedroom is on an open mezzanine level, with two guests on a sofa bed in the living room below, so it’s not the most private setup. But for a location like this, that’s easily forgiven.
