You can also simply relax on the terrace shaded by the vine covered pergola and take in the countryside views. Inside, there’s a traditional French vibe, and the vistas from the main bedroom deserve a mention, too. Both bedrooms have air conditioning, which is handy for when the temperature rises. And when you feel like exploring, this villa is ideally placed. Port Grimaud is just a five-minute drive, while Saint-Tropez is also easily reached by car. You'll find it remarkably easy to embrace the Provençal lifestyle here. The twice-weekly market at Place des Lices is just around the corner and there are beaches you can reach on foot, too. With one facing southeast, and the other west, you can catch both the sunrise and sunset if you're inclined, and having two lets you enjoy some time alone. When you want to explore, you'll find the nearest beach only 800 metres away, and there are all manner of distractions and eateries to be found in the nearby town centre.

From its rustic exterior to the lush green grounds, this home is a true slice of Provence, set only a ten-minute drive from the French Riviera. Here, the glitz and glamour are swapped for understated country chic, with an interior that feels homely and timeless. A traditional kitchen is the heart of the home, but you can cook outside on the barbecue too. And for more formal occasions, a grand oak table stands in front of a set of French doors. Push the doors open to discover the covered terrace, swimming pool and leafy gardens. Don’t forget to bring plenty of holiday reading to enjoy in these moments.

Then, why not head to the beach which is reachable in a short eight-minute drive, or in the centre of La Croix-Valmer you will find a free shuttle bus to get you there, plus many other amenities including restaurants and shops. While closer to home, you can enjoy a competitive game of petanque or cool off in the refreshing waters of the shared swimming pool.

Comfortable for four people, just bear in mind that at full capacity, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. We were immediately drawn to this villa's sea views – one glance, and you'll understand why. Perched above Saint-Tropez and just a ten-minute drive from its famous beaches, it has coastal relaxation written all over it. Just 450 metres from the sea and 950 from La Bouillabaisse beach, you'll be well-placed to soak up both the sunshine and the vibrant French Riviera atmosphere. It's part of a residential complex, which looks a little tired if we're being honest (as we usually are). However, the apartment is cosy and bright, with a boho-chic design that's anything but dated. The balcony is a lovely bonus – we can already imagine sipping champagne out there in the evening sun. You may want to pack earplugs, though, as it's right by a busy road.

Moments from the winding medieval streets of Cogolin, this newly built home has views over the mountains and fields. Days can just as easily be spent at the Riviera's beaches as they can be by the private pool – and at the latter, you know you're guaranteed a sun lounger in a prime position. Double-height ceilings, hardwood floors, and a floating staircase add a sense of grandeur to interiors, with a cavernous living-and-kitchen space perfect for family meals or movie nights. Bedrooms are minimalist and simply done, with pops of colour from feature walls – the real scene stealers are the balconies found in two of the rooms. Come evening, it's not far to a clutch of pretty streetside restaurants, but with a barbecue and outdoor dining furniture, we suggest whipping up your own feast, with sunset vistas as your reward.
