The first has been redesigned to be the living quarters with a whitewashed interior, orbicular hanging lights and a huge collection of house plants — not to mention a wood-burning stove for chillier evenings. On warm days, head out for a walk in the neighbouring valley, which has a private arboretum to visit. It takes just over an hour to reach the top of Kelston Round Hill, which offers sweeping views. Alternatively, you can drive to the centre of Bath in under half an hour.
