For the colder months, there’s a wood burner to cosy up in front of too. You can enjoy the wonderful vistas from outside as well in the large garden with its terraced seating area, perfect for watching the sun set. If you want to explore this stunning location, the South West Coast Path is just beyond the garden. Or spend the day on beautiful Praa Sands, 3 kilometres away. We loved this home’s wooden deck – with stunning sea views, a dining table, barbecue, two loungers and Adirondacks facing the ocean, it’s fully equipped for time well-spent outside. Factor in that you’re less than a ten-minute walk from the beach and you have a real winner. Meander down the South West Coast Path to laidback Sennen Cove with its stretch of golden sand and tropical-blue water. Here Cornish fishermen brush shoulders with tousle-haired surfers. We recommend renting a board and catching a wave – there are two highly-rated surf schools in the area. When you return home, hit the outdoor shower and set your wetsuits to dry in the warm utility room before heading inside, where you’ll find it’s just as lovely as its surroundings – smart and minimal with touches of nautical chic. We especially love the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living area. Kick back on the sofas and play a board game or puzzle all together. Then gather around the light wood table for a feast before retiring to the bedrooms for some restful sleep, knowing there’s another beautiful seaside morning waiting for you when you awake.

The first thing to mention with this home has to be the marvellous location. Not only is it in the middle of one of Cornwall's prettiest villages, but it also has a superb view of the River Camel from the front garden. Here, it's possible to sit at the table eating a dinner fresh off the barbecue and watch the boats bobbing about in the water.

It seems that the interior designer was all too aware of this stunning scenery, as many of the windows have had their ledges converted into seating so you can take a perch with a book. All throughout, the decor is heavy on soothing neutrals and nautical-themed artwork, while the sleek white kitchen is contemporarily styled. The presence of a log burner is also sure to be appreciated after a day of swimming in the sea.

Rock Beach sits just below the home, with Daymer Bay Beach a thirty minute coastal walk from here, and Polzeath a further thirty minutes also. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants close to the home, as well as a sailing club. If you want to explore more of Cornwall, the passenger ferry to Padstow leaves from Rock just a few minutes walk from the home.

From the incredible sun deck, private freestanding tub and the beach barbecue area to the roaring wood burner in the living room, this home is perfectly set up to make the most of its enviable location, whatever the weather. 

The open-plan kitchen and dining room is decorated in white, with plenty of blonde wood that serves to remind you of the beach. There's a wood burner to keep you cosy on blustery days, while there are French doors that lead out onto a large decking area that can be flung open when the sun's out.

Elsewhere in the home, uncover a soothing colour palette of greens, blues and oranges that echo the breathtaking sea views and jaw-dropping sunsets that you'll witness from the west-facing terrace. It's a theme that continues through to the tranquil bedrooms including the main room's stylish Soho House bed. In addition to a fantastic night's sleep on the comfy mattress, this room also benefits from a private patio complete with a freestanding tub – perfect for sunset pampering sessions with a glass of wine.

If you love the thought of drifting to sleep while gazing up at the stars, this dreamy cabin could be the holiday home for you. The cabin is tucked away in a lush garden in a romantic setting that will make you instantly forget any of the worries of day-to-day life. It’s a studio-style cabin with one wall entirely made of glass, blending the interior and exterior. A skylight above the bed means you’ll go to sleep each night staring straight up at the stars. 

The cabin is based just outside of Launceston in Cornwall, close to the border of Devon. It’s brilliantly located for outdoorsy adventures, whether you’re keen on surfing or prefer to explore the countryside on foot. Dartmoor National Park is twenty-seven minutes away by car, with its wealth of wonderful hikes and cycling trails. You might take a day-trip to St Isaac to paddle in the sea and eat fish and chips and ice cream at the shore – it takes forty-three minutes to drive there, and it’s well worth the trip. 

After a day of exploring Cornwall and its gems, you can look forward to sipping wine on the terrace. Perhaps you’ll cook dinner on the barbecue before enjoying a relaxing bubble bath in the beautiful copper tub. Or to take the romance to the next level, you might soak in the hot tub under the stars. It’s impossible to leave here feeling stressed out.

Brimming with original artwork and oozing charm, this coastal cottage is a real knock-out. We love every inch, from the inviting living space to the sumptuous bedroom. It's snug, but that's what makes it so cosy, and for a small space, it sure is packed with personal touches. Egyptian cotton sheets, electric fireplace, fluffy bathrobes, beach essentials, a welcome basket overflowing with breakfast items – your host has all the little details taken care of. As much as we adore the lovely kitchen, our favourite spot has to be the rustic courtyard. Dotted with olive trees and surrounded by leafy potted plants, it's the perfect place for morning coffees, alfresco dinners and evening tipples as the sun goes down. As far as locations go, this home is close to everything – it's only a ten-minute walk to Gyllyngvase Beach and five minutes to the restaurants, shops and pubs along the waterfront. While there's private parking on-site, you won't need the car for much. Don your comfiest shoes and set off on foot instead, exploring Falmouth's coastal walks, art galleries and cafes with ease.

In the hilltop hamlet of Trowan, this old stone house hides many a secret. It’s right on the South West Coastal Path – the long-distance walking trail that snakes across the Cornish coast – so days can be spent hiking right from your doorstep. The stunning seaside town of St Ives is a mile away, where the fresh catch of the day is landed in the harbour and a horseshoe of sandy beach attracts the crowds. 

Stepping inside, you can feel this history radiating from wood-beamed ceilings in the bedrooms and flagstone floors in the living area. Get a fire crackling in the wood-burner for a cosy evening in. This coast was once a hive of smuggling and in the kitchen, you’ll see a smuggler’s hide for storing contraband through a glass panel in the floor. Your host has added a few vintage touches like an old treasure chest and an antique ship’s light so you can really feel like you’re on a castaway adventure. 

Then there’s the outside; a fabulous green garden brimming with flowers and a perfectly manicured lawn. On a hilltop location, you can see the sea from the outdoor dining table and there are a couple of deckchairs for sunny summer days.

Tucked away in the peaceful wooded valley of Porthluney, this luxurious manor (which featured as one of GQ Magazine's "best holiday cottages in Cornwall for a relaxing summer break") welcomes up to sixteen guests to spend a few glorious days surrounded by beautiful countryside and romantic landscapes. The house is just a seven-minute walk from the centre of Padstow and its pretty, characterful harbour. Perhaps you’ll stroll into town first thing for breakfast in one of the many cafes and restaurants, before making your way to the beach. Lower Beach is our favourite, and it’s just an eighteen-minute walk from the house. Take along your bucket and spade and make memories in this most picturesque part of the UK. 

When you make your way back to the house, sun-kissed and sandy, fire up the barbecue. Spend your evening in the garden, admiring the views of the Camel Estuary and watching the sun slowly set. The garden is the jewel in the crown of this lovely home, with comfortable seating and bi-folding doors than can be opened wide to give the living space a holiday feel.

With Bodmin Moor’s rugged landscape and ancient monuments right on your doorstep, this stone-walled cottage just outside St Breward makes a perfect escape for those looking to make the most out of Cornwall’s natural beauty. 

Though the countryside surrounding you is as old as time itself, this lovely cottage has been curated with a chic contemporary touch and boasts all the modern comforts you could want to make yourself at home. Put your feet up on the stylish sofas with a glass of wine while enjoying the crackle of the wood-burning fire, or sit down to a romantic meal at the cosy dining table before heading out to the garden for some stargazing. This pretty outdoor spot is where you’ll want to begin your days over breakfast too – made with ingredients courtesy of the charming village store a four-minute walk away – before setting off for a day of walking and exploring. 

Make a beeline for the trails that begin straight from your garden and that take you to King Arthur's Hall and Alex Tor (both a forty-minute walk), or hop in your car to experience Cornwall’s gorgeous cost with Port Isaac and Padstow a thirty-minute drive from your door. After a day in the great outdoors, reward yourself with a meal at the nearby dog-friendly pub (a one-minute walk), which is famous in these parts for its Sunday carvery.

This cosy bungalow on Cornwall's northern coast is the perfect base for exploring as much or as little of this remarkable region as you please. Beautiful beaches, dramatic cliffs and stunning sunsets all await you in this charming county. Idyllic locations such as Padstow and St Ives can be reached in less than an hour, and the famed Eden Project is just a forty-five minute drive away.
 
On the other hand, Holywell Bay has one of the most beautiful beaches in the county. You’ll be pleased to know it's only a five-minute walk from your door, where alongside stunning scenery, you’ll find a gorgeous coastal path, and a handful of charming beachside cafes and eateries. Refuel on local produce at the Gull Rocks Bar & Coffee House at the beach’s entrance after an afternoon spent splashing about, and take in the stunning vistas afforded by its prime location. The Treguth Inn, hailing back to the thirteenth century also awaits just five minutes away, while several more traditional pubs and desirable restaurants can be found within a fifteen-minute drive. The choice is all yours. 

A short twenty-minute drive away is the Gannel Estuary, which separates neighbouring Crantock village from Newquay. Have a go at canoeing in the estuary, or try your hand at paddle-boarding over in Crantock. On quieter days, why not go for fish and chips followed by some ice cream in idyllic fishing villages such as Mevagissey, Mousehole or Gorran Haven, all within an hour's drive? Whatever you choose to do, you won't be short of fun.
  
Of course, such is the high-quality amenities, you don't even need to leave the house. An open living area is blessed with natural light and plenty of space, perfect for social evenings. Chill on the sofas, sit with a glass of beer on the kitchen bar or take to the circular table for dinner. On cooler nights, gather around the log burner, or venture out to the garden for a spot of stargazing by the outdoor heater.
 
On warm summer evenings, get comfy on the cushioned sofas as you watch the sunset, or take in views of Penhale, a protected area for wildlife and ecology. When the sun sets, turn on the outdoor lights, and for true indulgence, treat yourselves to a dip in the hot tub.
