The cottage dates back to the 1600s, so expect lots of character inside – we're talking wooden beams, exposed stonework, and a toasty log burner in the dining room to make your dinners feel extra cosy. There's also a quaint gravel garden – it's not the biggest, but it works well for sundowners on summer evenings.

Or, enjoy a pootle on the pond with the rowing boats and say hello to the resident ducks.

When tummies start to rumble, swing by the on-site farm shop to pick up supplies to rustle up back at home. There's everything you need to prepare meals in the country-style kitchen with a cosy dining area. And outside, the sunny private terrace commanding spectacular views across the Bride Valley is prime for afternoon teas and barbecues on long summer nights. Fancy keeping things simple? Then jump in the car bound for your nearest shores, Hive Beach, with its much-loved café dishing up some of the freshest seafood imaginable for lunch (a short drive away). And even closer, the village pub for hearty grub and a warm welcome, is a mere stumble away.

Plush sofas huddle around the wood-burning fireplace – a lovely space for chilly evenings – while the fully-equipped kitchen and diner offer direct access to the garden. Enclosed for privacy and boasting a lush lawn, the outdoor space beckons you to unwind in the fresh air. Let the dog roam free here and, after long walks through the countryside, fire up the barbecue and gather on the pretty terrace for a delicious alfresco feast.

An idyllic coastal retreat awaits at this blue cottage in Lyme Regis. The beach is just a twenty-minute walk away, and the rest of the Jurassic Coast is easily accessible by car. We love the bright and cosy living space back home. It's the ideal remedy after a day in the fresh air – and the glimpse of the sea from the kitchen window is a nice touch. The cherry on top is the enclosed garden, where you and your four-legged friends can enjoy dinner and drinks as the sun goes down.

Spend your days voyaging through the twenty acres of bucolic country grounds – there’s rowing boats and fishing on the lakes, woodland and meadow walks on your doorstep, and a playground (and a games room and skittle alley, if the weather misbehaves). And, of course, there’s the mighty Jurassic Coast. Pack up your bucket and spades for seaside days down at Hive Beach – its sandy, golden shores, and cafe for lashings of ice cream is an afternoon well spent.

You can always swing by the on-site farm shop to pick up some fresh local produce. Begin your mornings at the dining table with a cooked breakfast before finishing the last of a pot of tea on your private balcony. When the sun is shining, wander around the grounds – follow the Woodland Nature Trail through open fields or enjoy a moment of stillness by the lake. Should rain threaten, head to the games room for a round of table tennis. 

You’ll find your home a ten-minute drive from the surf-lashed Hive Beach. Look for fossils as you pick your way across the sand then enjoy a brisk paddle in the water. In the late afternoon, appease grumbling tummies with some proper pub grub at The Three Horseshoes in Burton Bradstock – it’s only 3.5 miles away.
