The location is excellent too – this home is in the centre of Lyme Regis, close to pubs, restaurants, cafes, and shops. Take a stroll along the Cobb overlooking the harbour – it’s within walking distance or spend the day on the golden sands of the town’s beach.

You're in the heart of the action here – you can wake up in the morning and be sunbathing on the beach in less than ten minutes. The cottage dates back to the 1600s, so expect lots of character inside – we're talking wooden beams, exposed stonework, and a toasty log burner in the dining room to make your dinners feel extra cosy. There's also a quaint gravel garden – it's not the biggest, but it works well for sundowners on summer evenings.

The beach is quite literally on your doorstep at this thatched cottage in Lyme Regis. It's not often you can pad out the front door and swim in the sea in seconds, but that's exactly what's in store here. Restaurants, shops, and activities like kayaking are also nearby. Back home, sweeping sea views can be seen from nearly every room – the best viewpoint is the living area's big bay window. Some design choices are a little dated, but given the location and the scenery, we think that's a fine compromise.

Location-wise, you’re just a twenty-minute drive to the seaside town of Lyme Regis, and the foodie haven, River Cottage, is even closer.

Once you've fully explored Seaton, make the 1.5-mile trip to the picture-perfect town of Beer or drive a little over an hour to the wilds of Exmoor National Park – famous for its spectacular landscapes and picturesque walks. You won't soon forget the woodlands, coasts and rivers that make up this naturally beautiful part of the world. 

After long days spent eating local produce and exploring spectacular South Devon, recharge at home in front of the TV with a drink in hand, ready to do it all again tomorrow.

The cabin is warm and welcoming, adorned with flowers from the farm, and boasting enough windows to flood the space with light. You’ll wake up each morning in the huge bed feeling rested, having enjoyed the kind of deep sleep you only get in the countryside. Charmouth Beach is ten minutes away by car and is the perfect place for a paddle. Hunt for fossils and skim stones, marvelling that this little haven is in the UK. The farm is only five miles inland from the sea, tucked away in between Dorset and Devon’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – keen walkers will be in heaven. 

After a long day of hiking and paddling, it’s a real treat to watch the sun begin to set over the cow meadow. Pour a glass of wine and admire the views that stretch all the way to Somerset. Later on, sitting around the fire pit, you’ll spot bats swooping through the trees above you. House martins and swallows nest around the farm, too, and you may also spot foxes, hedgehogs, badgers and roe deer. Rare orchids and meadow flowers bloom in the pastures surrounding the home, adding a sweet aroma to the country air. 

This is a perfect sanctuary for two – you’ll never want to leave.

On chilly evenings, you can throw a log on the fire and curl up to watch your favourite movies over a glass of wine.
