Tucked away just off of Tavistock Square, you’ll be living in the heart of Bloomsbury, a neighbourhood long known as the intellectual and literary capital of London. Throughout its network of quiet streets and charming squares, there's a wide selection of museums to visit, from those dedicated to Charles Dickens and the postal service to the daddy of them all, The British Museum, which can be reached in ten minutes on foot. The apartment itself is found in a striking Georgian building and is a peaceful escape from the non-stop going-ons of Central London on the streets below. The dazzlingly white kitchen with plenty of space is great for when you want a break from restaurant-hopping and, being on the top floor, we particularly liked the balcony for a blast of fresh air.

Gooseberry Crumble

It probably won't come as a surprise to learn that an architect designed and lived in this Bloomsbury apartment. You can see their attention to detail and creativity in every room, whether it's the colourful mural on the wall in one of the bedrooms, the cast copy of Elgin's Marbles in the living room or the striking wood panelling in the kitchen, which was repurposed from the floor of an old school. You can certainly detect a sense of playfulness too, especially with the gregariously gilded mirror and portrait frames contrasted against the stark and simple white walls. However, the meticulous design is only half the reason we fell for this flat. The location is pretty unbeatable, with The British Museum just across the road and the thrills of Soho reachable in ten minutes on foot.

Golden Folio

History and culture are right on your doorstep here at this stylish apartment in the heart of Fitzrovia. Surrounded by blue plaque buildings and just a one-minute stroll from the famous Fitzroy Tavern – where writers and authors like Nina Hamnett, Dylan Thomas and George Orwell once gathered – you’re in a prime position to get the most out of Central London.
 
Inside, hardwood floors, large windows and a vibrant contemporary decor set a welcoming scene in the open-plan living area. Make yourself at home on the plump sofa with a glass of wine or gather at the cosy dining table for an intimate soirée when you’re not out discovering the local dining scene. The bedroom, meanwhile, offers equally large windows and a beautifully dressed bed inviting a dreamy night’s sleep, and the dazzling metro-tiled bathroom is all set to get mornings off on the right foot with its luxurious rainfall shower. 
 
When you’re ready to set out for a day of adventure, you needn't go far before discovering the best of the city’s sights – Oxford Street is a three-minute walk, the British Museum is a ten-minute stroll and Soho is just ten minutes away on foot. With Covent Garden and Leicester Square also a fifteen-minute walk – not to mention sprawling Regent’s Park a twenty-minute walk away – you’ve got endless options when it comes to fun and entertainment.

Guests who want to be part of the action and still have a quiet home to return to at the end of a long day will fall in love with this Fitzrovia flat. Set over two floors in a Victorian building, the soothing colour scheme and all-modern interiors are an absolute delight. We loved how light and bright each room was – it felt like a relaxing respite from the city outside the door, and we enjoyed nothing more than sinking into the sumptuous sofa with a glass of wine after a busy day exploring. The kitchen is well-stocked for rustling up dinners, but the central locale means you're surrounded by some of the city's best restaurants, bars and pubs – chances are, you'll spend evenings dining out. Speaking of location, Fitzrovia has something for everyone – culture vultures will enjoy being a five-minute walk from the British Museum, fashionistas can roam the boutiques on Oxford Street and Regent's Street, and theatre fans are close to many of the shows in the West End. With Soho, Covent Garden and Regent's Park all less than a half hour's walk away and many underground stations nearby, you couldn't ask for a better place to be during your stay in London.
