As soon as we stepped through the door, we instantly felt at ease in this basement-level apartment – its modern country style, neutral tones and thoughtful presentation make it cosy and welcoming. We loved the quaint, whitewashed courtyard with bistro seating – a great spot for an evening meal in the summer or leisurely breakfasts in the early morning. Both bedrooms overlook the patio so they are quiet and calm – you can guarantee a restful sleep night after night. The location is also ideal, right in the heart of Notting Hill and within a ten-minute walk of High Street Kensington. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to places to eat and drink – especially given your enviable position between two fantastic pubs. For picnics and quiet afternoons, Hyde Park is ten minutes away, while Notting Hill Gate tube station is just three minutes around the corner should you fancy a trip into central London.

There were a lot of features about this home that we really loved. While it is a fairly small space, it has been thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind, and your host is also one of the loveliest people we have had the pleasure to meet. The interiors do have a contemporary feel, with the Andy Warhol photography adding character. Accessed via a ladder-style staircase, the bedroom here is on a mezzanine level, so you'll have to be prepared for some mid-stay climbing. The surrounding location is idyllic, with a bohemian vibe and within easy reach of the coveted Notting Hill.

Whether you’re in search of an action-packed adventure or a slow-paced city escape, this Notting Hill apartment provides a versatile base in a fantastic location. First of all, we'd suggest browsing the gorgeous boutiques of Westbourne Grove, right on your doorstep. The antique stalls of Portobello Road Market are around a fourteen-minute walk away, while it's a few more minutes to the Museum of Brands. Or culture lovers can head to the Gate Theatre, nine minutes on foot. On top of all this, Notting Hill Station is a ten-minute saunter if you want to explore the rest of what London has to offer. In a residential building minutes from the beloved Portobello Road Market, this apartment puts London explorers in the heart of Notting Hill. This close to Latimer Road Station and bus stops, you can easily zip around the city to tick off the sights on your bucket list. As for the flat, it's cosy enough for five guests. We also like the addition of the balcony, perfect for sunset drinks or contemplative cups of coffee. Out here, you can also look out over the rail line. It's worth noting it is a working line and the trains running could be a disturbance for some. Still, it's bright, pet-friendly and well-located.

We really liked the feel of this classic Notting Hill home, it’s stylish while also laid-back, which reflects the vibe of the neighbourhood. There’s a gas fire in the living room, charming wooden floors, and a glass chandelier in the bedroom. It’s filled with personal character too, such as the fashion photography and vintage sewing machine. While the kitchen is fairly small, it’s well stocked and there’s a great selection of cookbooks to inspire you. Another highlight is the generous balcony – enjoy a BBQ in the summer or cosy up with a cup of tea and a blanket in the winter.

Located in leafy Holland Park, you’ve got the best of both worlds here – tranquil living with easy access to the city centre (Holland Park tube station is a seven-minute walk away). In fact there are two staircases in this house, both of which are narrow and steep, so this place won't appeal to guests with limited mobility. We do like that this abode has a first-floor balcony perfect for enjoying a glass of fizz, and both bedrooms are en-suite.
