This is a classic, shabby chic Notting Hill flat. The huge bay window and sense of space in the living room make it feel incredibly relaxing and calm. It's not stuffed full of hi-tech entertainment and isn't super luxurious, but if you want a peaceful haven this is a proper gem. Perhaps the biggest highlight is the outdoor patio and gate leading onto the communal garden. Literally, nothing could be more classical Notting Hill.

There were a lot of features about this home that we really loved. While it is a fairly small space, it has been thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind, and your host is also one of the loveliest people we have had the pleasure to meet. The interiors do have a contemporary feel, with the Andy Warhol photography adding character. Accessed via a ladder-style staircase, the bedroom here is on a mezzanine level, so you'll have to be prepared for some mid-stay climbing. The surrounding location is idyllic, with a bohemian vibe and within easy reach of the coveted Notting Hill.

This London home is all about location, location, location. Tucked away on a quiet mews, just off the iconic Portobello Road, you’re at the heart of fashionable Notting Hill. Needless to say, you’ll have shops and restaurants aplenty on the doorstep, and for reaching the capital’s must-sees, Ladbroke Grove Tube station is a five-minute walk away. With two kitchens, the home is a great option for a group or two families, as you can have a bit of space to yourselves if you need it. At full occupancy, guests seven and eight will be sleeping on the day bed in the small downstairs living/kitchen area, but with the larger living/kitchen/dining area upstairs, this needn’t be a deal-breaker.

We really liked the feel of this classic Notting Hill home, it’s stylish while also laid-back, which reflects the vibe of the neighbourhood. There’s a gas fire in the living room, charming wooden floors, and a glass chandelier in the bedroom. It’s filled with personal character too, such as the fashion photography and vintage sewing machine. While the kitchen is fairly small, it’s well stocked and there’s a great selection of cookbooks to inspire you. Another highlight is the generous balcony – enjoy a BBQ in the summer or cosy up with a cup of tea and a blanket in the winter.

Elsewhere, the kitchen in a deep shade of green has plenty of sleek surface space for preparing home-cooked dinners, while the bathrooms play it comparatively safer with the dazzlingly white tiles.

The fact that we've got this far without mentioning the home's incredible location is a testament to the quality of the interior. The bottom of Portobello Road can be reached in ten minutes' walk, as can Holland Park and Kensington Gardens.

We also like the addition of the balcony, perfect for sunset drinks or contemplative cups of coffee. Out here, you can also look out over the rail line. It's worth noting it is a working line and the trains running could be a disturbance for some. Still, it's bright, pet-friendly and well-located.

Whether you’re in search of an action-packed adventure or a slow-paced city escape, this Notting Hill apartment provides a versatile base in a fantastic location. Outside, you’ll find everything you could need within walking distance – including Portobello Road and the nearest tube station.
