This stylish, couple's hideaway, housed in a Victorian warehouse, in a cobbled courtyard in Central London, is just over a five-minute walk from The Shard. For artisan produce, head to one of the city's largest and oldest food markets, Borough Market, a four-minute wander. If you love art, the Tate Modern is ten minutes on foot, while one of London's most iconic landmarks, Tower Bridge, is under a twenty-minute saunter. Of course, there are plenty of restaurants and chic bars on your doorstep in this desirable location – there's even a historic wine bar one-minute away. You don't have to go anywhere, though, to admire Britain's tallest building – The Shard is thrillingly visible from your bedroom window. We love the designer furniture here, from the Isamu Noguchi coffee table and Eames chairs to the Italian suede sofa – all shown off to perfection by the walnut floors and exposed brick walls. Pour a glass of Champagne and survey the city from the Juliet balcony, then whip up some dinner in the sleek kitchen. We were surprised how tranquil this sunny home is, given its fabulous location – it’s a quiet haven after all that sightseeing.

Shard View

Foodies, rejoice – this home puts Borough Market on your doorstep. The area is rife with gourmet merchants, cosy gastropubs, and independent eateries. Keen on sightseeing? The Shard, the Thames, and Tower Bridge are within walking distance, while nearby London Bridge Station offers excellent transport links. The home consists of two separate apartments – although it won't suit everyone, there's plenty of space. In addition to a bedroom and a bathroom, each flat has its own kitchen and living space (just note that one is smaller). The cherry on top is the terrace overlooking the Shard – the perfect spot to nibble on goodies you got at the market.

Foodie's Paradise

We were bowled over by this apartment's location, just over a fifteen-minute walk from The Oval cricket ground. It has been the home of Surrey County Cricket Club since it was opened in 1845 and is a regular venue for test match cricket. 

If you're stumped for other places to go in the area, then head to Beaconsfield Contemporary Art (seven minutes on foot) – there's a lovely vegan café here too. Or one of London's best-loved attractions, the London Eye, is under a thirty-minute walk. History lovers, on the other hand, can visit the Imperial War Museum, a twelve-minute stroll away. It's the same walking distance to the Beefeater Gin Distillery, where you can take a tour or stop off at one of the many restaurants on the doorstep of this belter of a home. 

Relax on the sunny balcony with a drink in hand – we were hit for six when we saw the vistas over the capital's skyline. The living space is light and bright, thanks to its large patio doors, allowing light to flood in. After all that exploring, have a soak in the bath and then relax on the comfy sofa. This place is the perfect pad for a couple or solo traveller looking to take advantage of all that London has to offer.

You will still have your home comforts with a large communal space and well-finished bedrooms that lead onto the balcony. Moments from the banks of the River Thames, this Southwark apartment has been thoughtfully curated as a city sanctuary. Inside, the open-plan design makes it easy to relax, cook or catch up on work. It’s worth noting the second bedroom is compact, but it does open up onto a private terrace – perfect for evening drinks. Outside, it’s just a short walk to iconic landmarks like Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and the Shard. There are also great public transport links and you’ll find Borough Market, historic pubs and galleries are all within easy reach. 

Lightness of Life

Fall in love with this former warehouse, promising views of Borough Market and the Shard while you dine alfresco. Though the main bedroom wows us, some may wish to step around the glass panels on the floor. Plus, guests staying in bedrooms two and three might bump into each other in their shared en-suite. Dotted with accents reminiscent of its Victorian heritage, you'll find two living areas here – ideal for extended families. Restaurants and attractions are a stone's throw away, and London Bridge station can take you further afield.

This stunning Victorian warehouse has been converted into a stylish, vibrant home in Borough, one of London’s most interesting neighbourhoods. You’ll be just a short stroll from Borough Market, as well as being next to Southwark Cathedral and Clink Street. For exploration further afield, you need only walk 190 metres to London Bridge station to hop on the Jubilee Line. We love the terrace, from which you can admire the Shard, and the quirky, colourful decor. There are lots of stairs to climb so it won’t be suitable for everyone, but if you can manage them, you’ll be rewarded with one of the coolest bases in Borough.

Upon entering this three-bedroom home, you’re immediately drawn in by the breathtaking view. It's not in the most well-known part of London, but you will certainly be able to get to know the city from this home’s remarkable vista. The London Observatory views the entirety of the city, including landmarks such as the London Eye and The Shard. It's ideal for a family or a group of friends looking to stay somewhere with a difference. The home also has luxurious bathroom spaces, a modern kitchen and an in-house concierge.

It's around twelve minutes on foot to Borough Market, one of the largest and oldest food markets in London. Moments from Elephant and Castle tube station, this home provides a stylish city sanctuary. Inside, you’ll find thoughtfully designed rooms bring ease to daily living, while the private garden offers a sweet spot for summer afternoon drinks. It’s well equipped for families and couples with all the essentials you could need to settle in and make it your own. There is no private parking available here, but it’s just a short walk to the nearest shops, restaurants and cafes. Plus, the close proximity to the tube station means its easy to get across London. 


The Wilder Beauty

Groups of friends will have plenty of space to stretch out in this five-floor townhouse. We love the jewel-toned sitting room, with its bay window and sumptuous sofas, though the main suite upstairs (complete with a rolltop bath) is also a favourite. Even better, a walled garden out back is the perfect spot to sip sundowners and discuss your itinerary. If sightseeing is on the cards, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London are about thirty minutes on foot, while nearby Borough Market is a can't-miss for foodies. The nearest Tube station is just over a ten-minute walk away – or there's a parking space available if you'd prefer to drive.

This home is great for people who are travelling for business or who need to carry out work remotely, as it's unfussy in terms of design but has plenty of practical space. There's an adjustable standing desk in the living area and a further desk in the master bedroom. Close to London Bridge station, you have excellent transport links to anywhere in the city, also ideal if you are working in Canary Wharf and the City is even walkable. There is also lots to do in the immediate area, being close to the bustling Borough Market and the Tate Modern art museum.

Positioned within a gated development, this two-bedroom home will spoil you for choice. Minutes away from Tower Bridge, Tate Modern and the famous Borough market, there is no better location to explore Central London and its best landmarks. London Bridge station is also nearby, so you have excellent transport links to anywhere in the city. This is also ideal if you are a business traveller, as Canary Wharf is easy to get to and the City is even walkable.

Only a stone's throw from London Bridge, get ready for a prime position in the city. This may look like just another Victorian warehouse from the outside, but the modern interior spans three floors while retaining some vintage touches. The private terrace is ideal for alfresco tea time, courtesy of the complimentary welcome pack. Though two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed, there's space to breathe in this home. But on your doorstep, you'll be treated to restaurants, sights, and plenty of public transport.

Or, why not take a stroll along the Thames? Cross over Westminster Bridge to be among the city’s most recognisable sights. Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament are no more than a twenty-minute mosey from your doorstep.

Housed in a former stable building in Southwark, this quirky home is full of characterful curiosities and charming original features – like the kitchen’s repurposed tie points once used for horses. With its high ceilings, A-frame windows and eclectic art featured in every room, you’ll have plenty to marvel at whether you’re in the large open living room or tucked away in the mezzanine bedroom. While the giant stuffed gorilla perched above the living space is an immediate eye-catcher, our favourite feature of this home has to be the rooftop terrace. Whether you start your mornings off here with a coffee or spend sunsets around its table and chairs over drinks, you’ll feel on top of the world in this secluded spot. When you’re not out sampling Borough Market’s international food stalls, visiting the towering Shard or admiring art at the Tate Modern – all within walking distance – enjoy a quiet hour or two in the study with a good book or kick back in the living room (under King Kong’s watchful eye) with a glass of wine and your favourite tunes on the Sonos sound system. Cook up dinner on the impressive Mercury range cooker, enjoy a final tipple on the terrace, then finish the night off with a soak in the Jacuzzi tub.

This former pub has been transformed into a chic homestead ideal for London getaways. Modern touches abound here – there's an egg-shaped barbecue on the private terrace, an exercise room with a Peloton, or chef-grade kitchen appliances ideal for keen cooks. One of the bedrooms is a tad snug, but we think that's a worthwhile trade, especially in such a central location. Elephant & Castle Station is less than ten minutes on foot, while sightseeing hotspots like the South Bank, Westminster, and Buckingham Palace are also within easy reach. Your host is also happy to arrange any services or extras you may need, from pre-arrival groceries to bespoke London experiences.

As you walk down the street towards your home, you may get a sense of familiarity. The road has been featured in countless films and TV shows, including Legend, A United Kingdom, Dr Who, Call the Midwife, Mr Selfridge and Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, among others. The Grade II listed home itself has also garnered a plethora of accolades, having been highlighted in the Property and Homes sections of The Times, The Telegraph, Metro and Evening Standard newspapers – once you step inside, you’ll soon why. Spread across three floors and filled with interesting pieces of contemporary furniture, there’s a cool modern vibe to the space despite its period exterior. Our favourite feature of the home, however, is undoubtedly the private patio garden. Bursting with palms and leafy plants of all sorts, this peaceful outdoor haven is the ideal spot to unwind in the mornings with your morning coffee or toast to good times over sundowners. With a sleek kitchen, a study area, two comfortable bedrooms and a beautiful dining space that invites meals prepared by a private chef (your host is happy to organise this), there’s no end to the relaxation and enjoyment to be had here. Outside of your home, you’ve got countless London attractions and cultural behemoths within easy walking distance, including the London Eye (twelve minutes), the National Theatre (six minutes), the Old Vic (five minutes) and the Tate Modern (fourteen minutes).

This three-floor home combines a film-set location with space, soul and style. Very recognisably ‘London’, this classically terraced street has played a starring role in many a movie and TV series. The same goes for the South Bank riverside walkway, lined with trees, historic pubs and restaurants, a few minutes away, along with the National Theatre, Tate Modern and London Eye. Inside, the house impresses with its many distinct spaces, from a beckoning kitchen to the decked garden. We especially loved slumbering in the two luxury bedrooms, where goose down duvets rest atop memory foam mattresses. You're well served for public transport links, with Southwark and Waterloo stations both within a five-minute walk, as well as several convenient bus routes to whisk you into Central in under fifteen minutes.

The Air of Whittlesey

Let's not beat around the bush – we love this apartment because of the spectacular views. What it lacks in home comforts, it makes up for with panoramas spanning across the whole of London. Floor-to-ceiling windows put the scenery front and centre, but the balcony takes the cake for the best vantage point. After all, nothing beats a sundowner with a view of the Shard and Canary Wharf. The design is ultra-contemporary, if a little uninspired, but the location is spot-on. Foodies will love being a short walk from Borough Market and the area's trendy eateries, while the nearby Tube makes exploring the city an absolute breeze.

The home itself isn't anything to brag about, but it's central location more than makes up for the minimalistic interiors. You're only a short stroll over the river from Tate Britain, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben, with the London Eye just fifteen minutes away on foot. And, of course, you're surrounded by shops, museums and restaurants.

The London Eye is a thirty-minute walk away, while the nearby Tube has adventures further afield covered.
