They say that first impressions are everything and we defy anybody not to be wowed upon laying eyes upon this Georgian property close to the West Sussex – the handsome brickwork, large sash windows and manicured front garden give off a real air of grandeur.

We're happy to report that this attention to appearance continues inside. The design treads the fine balance between heritage and modernity rather adroitly, with antique furnishings and decorative items sitting quite happily alongside more contemporary artworks and a smart kitchen. As well as looking the part, you won't struggle to get cosy in the pair of living rooms, complete with shelves packed full of books, a fireplace and a grand piano next to the bay window.

Nor will there be any difficulty in finding somewhere to unwind in the large garden during bursts of warm weather. Little ones will love bouncing about on the trampoline, while there's a large alfresco table that is the perfect setting for an alfresco dinner party – as well as a barbecue to help make that a reality.

If you're ever in need of ingredients, there's a farm shop just next door to the home. You don't have to go far to find distractions, either. The seaside village of Selsey is just over five minutes' drive away and there's a great choice of beaches in the local area, including West Wittering about twenty minutes away in the car. The cathedral city of Chichester takes a similar amount of time northwards, too.

Located in the heart of beautiful Chichester on England’s south coast, this bright modern flat is part of an eco-friendly development that features a sedum natural-plant roof, underfloor heating, and sustainable furnishings. The apartment’s social design, with its open plan living room, kitchen, and diner make it an ideal setting for a group of friends looking to explore the region’s mix of natural beauty and rich history. While immediate sites include the city’s cathedral and Roman baths, the stunning beaches at Wittering and the beautiful South Downs National Park are only a short drive away.

The Green Cube

With direct access to a picturesque beach and light-filled interiors, this wooden house on the shores of Bracklesham Bay is a great place for a family on a lookout for a peaceful holiday base. Here, you’ll be able to enjoy all that this area has in store, with miles of nature walks, water sports and activities and some excellent pubs to be discovered. 

The inside offers plenty of space for everyone to find a quiet nook for relaxing with a holiday read, as well as for coming together and enjoying communal feasts and evenings of movies. With two living rooms – one on each floor – it doesn’t even have to be the same movie! 

Delicious family meals can be put together with ease in the well-equipped kitchen and savoured at the indoor dining table or outside on the large patio, where you can feast with the view of the sea before you. 

After a night of restful sleep which awaits in the six comfy bedrooms, wake up feeling restored and ready for more coastal adventures. 

Pebbles & Wood

Nestled in the village of West Ashling, this cottage offers a homely stay for four guests. Sure, the bedrooms are a bit of a squeeze, but this home has everything you need for a relaxing retreat – including a cosy wood burner for winter months and a sun-kissed terrace that’s perfect for summer. Just a short stroll from three country pubs, the village restaurant, and with a vineyard nearby offering wine-tasting tours, you’ll never be short of places to eat or drink here. Fancy a day on the coast? West Wittering beach is a short drive away.

Golden Seasons

This pet-friendly barn conversion in West Sussex is perfect for a couple or solo traveller seeking a peaceful rural retreat. A rock garden and tended lawn provide ample opportunity for sundowners and alfresco meals, while inside, cosy country-style decor and beamed ceilings provide plenty of English charm. You’ll need to climb a flight of stairs to reach the mezzanine bedroom but waking up to apex views of the surrounding nature is a fair reward. The bus stop at the end of the road offers regular services to Chichester, while the village of Funtington – right on the home’s doorstep – has a selection of restaurants and pubs to enjoy. 


The Barn Light

Glorious views, fresh sea air and an abundance of coastal charm – the tranquil village of West Wittering makes it easy to slow down and embrace life in the great outdoors. And just a short five-minute drive from East Wittering Beach, this home provides a welcoming seaside sanctuary. 

From slow morning breakfasts around the table to lazy afternoons with a book by the wood-burning fire and long soaks in the bath, you’ll find everything you could need for a restorative retreat. And with the welcome addition of a barbecue and pizza oven, summer evening’s can be spent embracing family fun and delicious meals in the garden. 

Back inside, you’ll find the living room sets the tone for cosy movie nights while the snug bedrooms will ensure you awaken feeling refreshed and ready to explore. 

Days can be spent strolling along the seafront, braving invigorating swims, following hiking trails and admiring the beautiful views. You’ll find it's just a short walk (or drive) to the local shops, pubs and restaurants, while the historic city of Chichester is easily reachable by car too.

Sunlight Glow  

Well, there's no mystery why this home has made our collection. The apartment is right on the beach in East Wittering, so as you can see, it has great views of the sea from the private sunny balcony as well as most rooms. Yes, the galley kitchen is a bit compact if there are more than two people in there, but it's modern and well-equipped. If you tire of East Wittering Beach (unlikely we know), West Wittering Beach, with its views of Chichester, is less than a ten-minute drive. Otherwise, Chichester Marina is just over ten minutes away in the car, and Goodwood House is around a thirty-minute ride.

Light & Sea

If location is at the top of your list when searching for places to stay in Chichester, look no further than this central three-storey home. Shops, cafes and restaurants are no more than a minute’s walk away, and the train station is reached in around ten minutes by foot. If you fancy a trip to the coast, it’s a twenty-minute drive to Aldwick Beach. The home is modern and well-appointed – there’s plenty of storage space and a full kitchen, making longer breaks a breeze. Just so you know, the staircases are curved, which may be a problem for those with mobility issues.

Chichester Charm

Keen to escape your daily grind without going too far away from reality? This house, just a mile out of Chichester, has you covered. Set up like your typical modern family home, the space presents everything you'll need to seize the moment and feel genuinely settled in (as though it were your own home). 

With an open plan kitchen, dining and living area, the main hub of the home extends out onto the garden – presenting an abundance of extra space to enjoy, particularly when the weather is kind. And with a separate, additional living room, plus secluded bedroom spaces – you'll find plenty of quiet spaces to work from home if required from here too. 

Nestled just a twenty-minute walk from the town centre of Chichester and around a twenty-minute drive from the coastline of West Sussex, you'll have the local beaches and amenities at your fingertips here. 




Seize the Moment

Perfect for a rural retreat with easy access to the coast, this home is just the spot for a family or group of friends. While inside the home is well-equipped and tastefully decorated, it’s the outdoor space that caught our eye. Generous gardens invite little ones to run around and play while the grown-ups relax with a glass of wine on the terrace. The cherry on the cake? It’s the hot tub for us – ideal for relaxing under the stars after a busy day exploring all West Sussex has to offer. 

The Divine Canter

Though small, this bright garden annexe in Bosham is perfect for solo nomads and couples looking for a romantic coastal break. With a double sofa bed facing the wall-to-wall bi-fold doors, you can wake up to a green view of the shared garden. The kitchen, although not the biggest, has a coffee maker and everything you need for light bites to enjoy alfresco on the terrace. A short drive from Aldwick Beach, Portsmouth and Waterlooville Golf Club, there's a little something for everyone here.

The Dashing Prince

When we boast that this amazing home is beachfront, we really mean it, with direct access to Bracklesham beach via the garden, you really couldn’t get much closer. Wander along the pebbled shore with your four-legged friend and listen to the crunch of stones beneath your feet, brave a dip in the sea, or even challenge the kids to build sculptures from the stones. 

Built in the 1920s around a classic railway carriage, this home has been extensively modernised, and expanded over the years but still holds much of that original charm. We would love nothing more than to wake up here to the soothing sound of the waves and seagulls calls before enjoying breakfast on the balcony to truly admire the views. 

Spend the day relaxing at home, reading a good book on the terrace while the children entertain themselves in the playroom which is filled with kids’ books and toys, or taking a dip in the swimming pool. 

Head out for the day and visit West Wittering’s stunning Blue Flag Beach – a short six-minute drive away – for a sandy beach experience, and let the children play in the salty waves and build castles on the sand. Visit Chichester Cathedral – a twenty-seven-minute drive away, or spend a day at the races at Goodwood horse racing course or Goodwood Motor Circuit, reachable by car in twenty-nine minutes and twenty-three minutes, respectively. 

In the evening, dine together as a family, and then when the children are all in bed, why not end the day with a cool glass of wine on the balcony as you enjoy the outstanding sea views.
