You’ll feel instantly welcome here – this place feels alive and lived-in and is perfect for families seeking a laid-back base and that home-away-from-home feeling. The bright and cosy lounge area is framed by a large bay window – which just happens to look out to a bay too – and there is an abundance of space here for snuggling up and enjoying quality time together. Gather everyone for movie nights, and on chillier evenings make use of the fireplace to add to the cosiness. 

Rustle up delicious meals in the modern kitchen and enjoy them all together by the wooden dining table, strategically placed so that you can admire the magnificent views outside. Have a good night’s rest courtesy of the comfy bedrooms – they too reflect the family-friendly vibe of this home, with each room designed to cater to a different demographic. This home in the charming coastal village is Abersoch is strikingly modern, with sleek glass dominating the facade, all the better to take in that sea view. You’re within walking distance of the beach – the soft sand of Abersoch Bay is three minutes on foot. If you want something more grand and sweeping than the harbour-side beach, head to Porth Neigwl, a six-minute drive away. The home itself has some serious wow-factor, starting with the hot tub in the garden and plush rattan sofa set on the patio, perfect for evening cocktails or barbecue lunch. Inside, you’ll find the main living room on the top floor, taking advantage of a view over the village out to where the fishing boats bob out at sea. It’s part of an open-plan living area that spreads across the whole top floor, all natural light from walls of glass and sleek eave angles. Bedrooms are all on the ground floor, with the master opening up to the private garden.

The Llyn Peninsula is often overlooked when it comes to planning a getaway in the UK, but it's a region of long stretches of sand, colourful beach huts and yachts bobbing in harbours. This beautifully designed home is a wonderful place to stay in order to see the best of the area. If you get the master bedroom, make sure you throw open those French doors and enjoy the coastal view from the balcony. The kitchen is made for lavish group dining with a dedicated wine fridge and a huge range-style cooker. Every detail has been meticulously thought through — both inside and out, where well-furnished patios feature both an alfresco dining setup and an outdoor lounge to retire to after dessert. Outside the address, the Wales Coast Path is on your doorstep, so you could visit a different beach every day if you so wished. Here, there's some of the best surf in Wales, great for beginners and seasoned surfers alike. History and intrigue are all around — the nearby village of Llangian can be reached in just over half an hour on foot and boasts a sixth-century church, while the spectacular Italianate village of Portmeirion (home of cult classic The Prisoner) is only a forty-five-minute drive away.

Inside, oak wood tones, blues, and a natural colour palette keep the sea at the forefront of your mind, without overdoing the seaside theme. A huge, squashy sofa makes for a great place to put your feet up after a country walk, and there's a log burner for cosy evenings in winter. A new kitchen, complete with all the mod-cons, makes cooking at home a pleasure, and it's easy to spill out onto the terrace on fine days.


Just a short walk away, sea and surf await you on the shores of Cardigan Bay. With traditional village pubs dotted along the route down, it would be a shame not to stop off for a drink on the way back. But as evening draws in, be sure to head back home – the hot tub is the place to be as the sun sets.


Infinity Bay

A two-minute walk from the fine sands and shallow water of Abersoch Harbour Beach, this home is perfect for a family or group of friends looking for a modern seaside escape. Inside, light and space are cleverly maximised – we loved the open-plan living area with its enormous windows and double-height ceilings. Your mornings begin here with a coffee on the comfortable sofa before choosing to breakfast on one of the sun trap balconies. 

If exploring is on the agenda, lace up your hiking boots and follow the Wales Coastal Path to Pwllheli or stay local and take the ten-minute amble into the heart of town for indie shops and fantastic seafood eateries. Surfing enthusiasts should make a beeline for Hell’s Mouth, a seven-minute drive away – keep an eye out for Bottlenose dolphins as you carve through the waves. When the day draws to a close, head back to your pad for a chilled glass of wine as the sun starts to set and an early night in the cosy bedrooms, ready to do it all again tomorrow.

With the local park and playground located a minute's walk away, you'll find keeping the kids entertained here an absolute breeze. Since the home is gated, rest assured in knowing that younger children can also play freely in the garden at their own leisure. 

Come evening time; you'll have the choice of strolling down to one of the local pubs for a nightcap or curling up in front of the fireplace for a cosy night in. What’s more, you’ll be treated to stunning sunrises, sunsets and unbeatable sea views across Abersoch's inner harbour, towards Warren beach and Llanbedrog headland which can be enjoyed not only from the terrace, but also from the living area and first-floor king-size bedrooms. We don’t know about you, but that sounds like heaven to us. Seduced by the sight, sound and smell of the sea, why not get your togs on and take one of the stand-up paddle boards out for a spin before grabbing a bite to eat at one of the local beach cafes? You won’t regret falling in love with Llŷn peninsula life.

This cute little cottage makes the most of its location right on the seafront. It’s just steps away from a small sandy bay where the sea laps at the shore of the Llyn Peninsula. You’ll be in the heart of Abersoch village, a charming harbour town where fishing boats bob in the water and beach cafés line the shore. If you like your beaches long and practically deserted, it’s an eight-minute drive to Porth Neigwl. The cottage itself is fishing-village white on the outside and has a handful of balconies and terraces all facing the beautiful sea view. There’s a walled patio with an outdoor fire for chilly evenings and a dining table on the terrace for sunny days. That’s not to mention the glass-fronted balcony that looks out over the boats in the harbour too. Inside, it’s cottage-chic with wooden floors and nautical decor touches – driftwood fireplaces and anchor cushions. The main living area is open plan, on the ground floor, where a living room is set around an electric stove and the big breakfasting table is set for six. Upstairs, a more formal living room opens up onto the top terrace with views out over the harbour below.  

Ysbryd y Môr

This family home is mere footsteps from Abersoch’s soft-sanded beach, and a short dander sees you in the centre of this harbour town for meals out and coastal strolls. It feels undeniably beachy in a white clapboard exterior reminiscent of the beach huts nearby. Inside, the space is far from shed-like though, with towering ceilings in the open living area and a wall of windows showing off the view of the fields outside Abersoch. A cast-iron stove in the living room and purring Aga in the kitchen provide warmth in a traditional way and the dedicated double wine fridge in the dining area can keep your whites cool as you like. 

If the sun makes an appearance, there’s a long dining table for the group out on the patio, and an added bonus is the rooftop balcony, accessed by a spiral staircase, and looking out over the countryside towards the sea. 

The Seashell Harvester

This coastal home sits within beautiful grounds at the entrance to the village of Abersoch, making it an ideal setting for seaside escapes. The uninterrupted sea views are undoubtedly the star of the show here, and they can be enjoyed from inside and out. We love the flower-filled garden, and the front terrace with its table and chairs – it’s a stunning spot for afternoon tea. Inside, you’ll find high ceilings and antique furniture. Given that it’s a period home, it’s unsurprising that some of the decor is a little dated – it won’t appeal to everyone.
