This cute little cottage makes the most of its location right on the seafront. It’s just steps away from a small sandy bay where the sea laps at the shore of the Llyn Peninsula. You’ll be in the heart of Abersoch village, a charming harbour town where fishing boats bob in the water and beach cafés line the shore. If you like your beaches long and practically deserted, it’s an eight-minute drive to Porth Neigwl. The cottage itself is fishing-village white on the outside and has a handful of balconies and terraces all facing the beautiful sea view. There’s a walled patio with an outdoor fire for chilly evenings and a dining table on the terrace for sunny days. That’s not to mention the glass-fronted balcony that looks out over the boats in the harbour too. Inside, it’s cottage-chic with wooden floors and nautical decor touches – driftwood fireplaces and anchor cushions. The main living area is open plan, on the ground floor, where a living room is set around an electric stove and the big breakfasting table is set for six. Upstairs, a more formal living room opens up onto the top terrace with views out over the harbour below.

Pwllheli Beach is an easy walk away, and the nearby town has restaurants, shops and pubs to enjoy.

What could be more romantic than a tiny cottage in the country? This pretty little home on the Llyn Peninsula is surprisingly modern thanks to its recent refurbishment. Comfortable and stylish, it's the perfect retreat for couples trying to get away from it all. Set in a secluded rural area, with great walking on your doorstep, it's about as far from the madding crowd as it gets. There's a lawned garden and little deck to enjoy the views from, and inside you'll find a log burner to warm up even the chilliest of evenings. The building retains character features like a vaulted ceiling, beams and a mezzanine level, but it's been smartly modernised to provide an open-plan living space with a fabulous kitchen and breakfast bar, as well as a cosy seating area with patio doors to bring the outside in. And our favourite part must be the en-suite bathroom with its contemporary bath and walk-in rain shower. Special touches like the robes, slippers and a welcome pack of goodies make this place a real treat. Less than a fifteen-minute drive to Pwllheli, and ten to Abersoch, there are loads of great beaches, village pubs and local shops to explore nearby.

Dating back to the 13th century, this former mill cottage has been beautifully restored to a two bedroom home that feels much lighter and airer on the inside than the old stone exterior would have you believe – charming though it is. Poised on a private estate on the outskirts of the seaside town of Pwllheli, this breathtaking barn conversion offers the ultimate relaxing getaway. Surrounded by undulating countryside views, this home provides all the luxuries of a boutique hotel with the decadence of having it all to yourself. Its combined coastal and country setting is reflected in its steel and stone decor, brought to life with warm touches of colour that invite you to luxuriate in the home’s tall, beamed living room. After waking up under the eaves of the mezzanine bedroom, head outside to the front garden to enjoy your coffee with views of the rolling hills and sheep grazing in the fields below. Then, make your way to the private ground-floor sauna for a sumptuously relaxing way to begin the day before setting off to explore Pwllheli (a twenty-minute walk or a five-minute drive away)  famed for its weekly market, watersports, and Blue Flag beaches. Alternatively, head to Snowdonia National Park for an afternoon of hiking, twenty minutes away by car. After a day of exploring, come back home for a delicious meal – you can choose whether to cook up a feast in the wonderfully sleek kitchen replete with a boiling tap and an ice maker – not to mention its gorgeous Belfast sink – or fire up the barbecue for an alfresco treat. Then finish the night off by stargazing around the outdoor fire pit or snuggling up with a glass of wine by the living room’s wood-burning fire before heading upstairs for a wonderfully peaceful night’s sleep. 


Golden Daffodils

One of the funkiest former grain stores we ever did see, this little home is part of a farm in the countryside just outside Pwllheli. Lovingly converted with a great deal of flair and imagination, it's far from your usual holiday home. Upcycled furniture, industrial pieces and pops of colour mix with natural wood, leather and slate. The ground floor living space is cosy and quirky, with a log burner, beamed ceilings and an open staircase. Cook up family meals in the fully kitted-out kitchen and choose to eat indoors or out in the private garden. There's so much to love about this place, but we particularly like the wet room, with its rain shower, light tunnel and penguins hiding in the built-in shelves, and the pretty garden with its fun seating areas. With the owners just next door, make use of the gym, make friends with the farm animals and cook on the fire pit in the evenings. It's just a ten-minute drive into the town, with loads more to see and do nearby, from walking and horse riding to playing on the sandy beaches.

This home feels like a celebration of the sea and the great outdoors. First of all there’s that view from the garden out over the green of the LLyn Peninsula and to the denim-blue Cardigan Bay beyond. Make the most of days outdoors in the summer kitchen, perhaps prepping and grilling some freshly-caught fish for the nearby sea. Dining can take place by the blooming hydrangea on the lawn, or on the patio. 

From the wall of glass in the living room, you’ve got a view of the boats in the bay – get a closer look through the telescope. Heading into town, you’ve got a soft-sanded beach lined with beach huts, ice cream parlours and waterfront cafés. Or, opt for a secluded beach a little closer by – Llanbedrog is a five-minute drive or half-hour walk.

The home itself stands pristine white against the green fields, with a glass frontage to make the most of the view. And it really is a fabulous view. From the furnished patio, you can gaze out across the vast greenery to the shimmering blue of Cardigan Bay. Glass sliding doors lead to an open living area, letting natural light fill the room. A long dining table is big enough to accommodate the group and the kitchen is a vision of sleek, white modernity. Choose between the main lounge with its sea view, or cosy up by the stove in the second sitting room. The master bedroom is a sight to behold, with its wall of windows looking out over the landscape, and we love the nautical touches throughout – a reminder of your seaside locale.

Inside, the home gives guests plenty of room to socialise and comfortably relax. And the host will kick-start your stay with complimentary tea and coffee upon arrival. With an art gallery and cafe on-site, too, you needn't go far to enjoy the local culture either. Meanwhile, Snowdonia National Park and the nearby coastal towns, such as Abersoch and Pwllheli, are just a short drive away. 




Warm Waters Below

Located on the rural outskirts of Abersoch, this 200-year-old renovated lead miner's cottage provides a great base for a family holiday. Though the interior is quite traditional and the exterior could do with a lick of paint, it comes with some lovely amenities. There’s a fireplace to get all cosy during those colder months and outside, you'll find a small patio with outdoor seating and a tiered lawn, bordering the green hills beyond. There's beach gear in the garden shed for when you’re headed to one of the nearby beaches and if you’re looking for a meal out, you can take a walk down to the local family-friendly pub.

This breezy bungalow is the definition of contemporary coastal, with its natural textiles, soothing blue and white colour scheme and seaside-inspired decorations. It's as relaxing as it looks, especially the cosy living area – on chilly evenings, curl up by the fire after sharing a family meal around the dining table. Cooking is anything but a chore in the modern kitchen, and the bi-fold doors are a real treat – when the weather is nice, you can step straight into the sun-soaked garden and relax or dine alfresco. We suggest enjoying breakfast in the morning light before heading out for a day on the coast. Pack a picnic and hit the beach – National Trust's Llanbedrog Beach is a twelve-minute walk away, while Abersoch and Pwllheli are less than a ten-minute drive if you'd like to switch things up. After an afternoon splashing in the water and wandering the coastal paths, enjoy a pint and delicious bites at the two pubs in town – both are family-friendly and are a short stroll from home.

This lovely 18th-century blacksmith’s cottage makes for a wonderful holiday home. It’s in a quiet location on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula, so you’re guaranteed a serene break but you’re within easy reach of plenty of attractions. There are countless small towns and villages to explore nearby, and you’re right on the coast. It takes fifteen minutes to stroll along to Llanbedrog Beach, where you can admire the beach huts, paddle in the shallows, and relax on the sand. Gorgeous Abersoch is just seven minutes away by car, too. 

If you’re feeling active, you might lace up your hiking boots and set off on the Llanbedrog walking trail to Mynydd Tir-y-Cwmwd. You’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Cardigan Bay and the peninsula. When you return to the cottage, you can rest your weary muscles in the fabulous hot tub. Sip Champagne as you soak in the bubbles and relax. When the sun has set, you’ll be treated to wonderfully clear skies for stargazing. 

The cottage itself has all the charm of a period property, but it’s been brought up to date so you can look forward to luxurious touches. When you’re not soaking in the hot tub, you might be curled up in front of the log burner. There’s also a cute beach hut in the garden where you can dine, having fired up the barbecue for dinner. It’s practically impossible to leave here feeling anything less than completely blissed out.

Not much more than a five-minute drive from the popular village of Abersoch, this character cottage was once the farm's grain store and dates back to the 1800s. Set among a small group of similar homes, and close to a touring campsite, it comes with plenty of shared outdoor space and a private terrace with sea views. Just a short walk from The Warren beach and a mile from Abersoch's golden sands, it offers views across the Llŷn Peninsula and is a great base for keen walkers, cyclists and adventurers.
