Surrounded by undulating countryside views, this home provides all the luxuries of a boutique hotel with the decadence of having it all to yourself. Its combined coastal and country setting is reflected in its steel and stone decor, brought to life with warm touches of colour that invite you to luxuriate in the home’s tall, beamed living room. After waking up under the eaves of the mezzanine bedroom, head outside to the front garden to enjoy your coffee with views of the rolling hills and sheep grazing in the fields below. Then, make your way to the private ground-floor sauna for a sumptuously relaxing way to begin the day before setting off to explore Pwllheli (a twenty-minute walk or a five-minute drive away)  famed for its weekly market, watersports, and Blue Flag beaches. Alternatively, head to Snowdonia National Park for an afternoon of hiking, twenty minutes away by car. After a day of exploring, come back home for a delicious meal – you can choose whether to cook up a feast in the wonderfully sleek kitchen replete with a boiling tap and an ice maker – not to mention its gorgeous Belfast sink – or fire up the barbecue for an alfresco treat. Then finish the night off by stargazing around the outdoor fire pit or snuggling up with a glass of wine by the living room’s wood-burning fire before heading upstairs for a wonderfully peaceful night’s sleep.

One of the funkiest former grain stores we ever did see, this little home is part of a farm in the countryside just outside Pwllheli. Lovingly converted with a great deal of flair and imagination, it's far from your usual holiday home. Upcycled furniture, industrial pieces and pops of colour mix with natural wood, leather and slate. The ground floor living space is cosy and quirky, with a log burner, beamed ceilings and an open staircase. Cook up family meals in the fully kitted-out kitchen and choose to eat indoors or out in the private garden. There's so much to love about this place, but we particularly like the wet room, with its rain shower, light tunnel and penguins hiding in the built-in shelves, and the pretty garden with its fun seating areas. With the owners just next door, make use of the gym, make friends with the farm animals and cook on the fire pit in the evenings. It's just a ten-minute drive into the town, with loads more to see and do nearby, from walking and horse riding to playing on the sandy beaches.

But it’s the views of the patchwork countryside and glittering sea on the horizon that really steal the limelight – get a closer look from the patio with a glass of your favourite tipple in hand. 

Should the sky become overcast, put your feet up in front of the wood-burning stove or put together a hearty, home-cooked meal in the fully-equipped kitchen. When there’s a break in the clouds, grab your seaside essentials and make haste to Pwllheli Traeth Marian-y-de Beach. Spend an afternoon exploring nearby Pwllheli – check out the local shops, cafes and restaurants before watching the sunset from the promenade.

In the garden, you'll find a patio area complete with sofas and even an outdoor stove which will keep you toasty when the sun goes down. There's another wood-burner inside too, so you can enjoy the gentle sound of crackling logs both inside and out. Upstairs, the sumptuous beds assure you'll get a good night's sleep, and the huge windows will fill the rooms with morning sunlight. The sandy shores of Llanbedrog Beach are just half a mile away, and the charming village of Abersoch is only five minutes away by car. And, with surfing, watersports, golf, and hiking trails nearby, you're not likely to run out of things to do here.

Outdoors, there’s a charmingly wild garden, a sun-trap patio for morning coffees, and a hot tub for soaking your bones after long hikes in the Welsh countryside. Walkers are spoilt for choice with paths and lanes crisscrossing the surrounding countryside, and if you don’t mind hopping in the car, you’re a half-hour drive from some of the best walking terrain in the world in the form of Snowdonia National Park. Alternatively, head over to the long sandy beach at Morfa Nefyn, only seven minutes away in the car.

If you’re keen to explore a little further afield, jump in the car and drive for 2.5 miles to the picturesque market town of Pwllheli. Enjoy a spot of lunch in an award-winning eatery then head to Pwllheli Traeth Marian-y-de Beach for a dip in the turquoise water.

What could be more romantic than a tiny cottage in the country? This pretty little home on the Llyn Peninsula is surprisingly modern thanks to its recent refurbishment. Comfortable and stylish, it's the perfect retreat for couples trying to get away from it all. Set in a secluded rural area, with great walking on your doorstep, it's about as far from the madding crowd as it gets. There's a lawned garden and little deck to enjoy the views from, and inside you'll find a log burner to warm up even the chilliest of evenings. The building retains character features like a vaulted ceiling, beams and a mezzanine level, but it's been smartly modernised to provide an open-plan living space with a fabulous kitchen and breakfast bar, as well as a cosy seating area with patio doors to bring the outside in. And our favourite part must be the en-suite bathroom with its contemporary bath and walk-in rain shower. Special touches like the robes, slippers and a welcome pack of goodies make this place a real treat. Less than a fifteen-minute drive to Pwllheli, and ten to Abersoch, there are loads of great beaches, village pubs and local shops to explore nearby.

A long, private drive leads to this romantic retreat in the rolling hills of the Llyn Peninsula. A restored cottage just for two, it's been modernised to a high standard with slate floors, all-white walls and a sociable, open-plan layout to the ground floor. A perfectly well-equipped kitchen and cosy sofa area include a small indoor dining table, and contemporary bi-folding doors open the space up to the patio outside, so it's easy to eat outdoors on fine days. Upstairs, the romantic bedroom has vaulted ceilings, skylights and a unique full-length arched window so you can stare across the fields even from bed. And we love the huge, super stylish bathroom, with its walk-in shower and freestanding tub below a skylight. Just a ten-minute drive from the pretty seaside village of Abersoch, it's the perfect base to explore this beautiful part of the world.

This home in the charming coastal village is Abersoch is strikingly modern, with sleek glass dominating the facade, all the better to take in that sea view. You’re within walking distance of the beach – the soft sand of Abersoch Bay is three minutes on foot. If you want something more grand and sweeping than the harbour-side beach, head to Porth Neigwl, a six-minute drive away. The home itself has some serious wow-factor, starting with the hot tub in the garden and plush rattan sofa set on the patio, perfect for evening cocktails or barbecue lunch. Inside, you’ll find the main living room on the top floor, taking advantage of a view over the village out to where the fishing boats bob out at sea. It’s part of an open-plan living area that spreads across the whole top floor, all natural light from walls of glass and sleek eave angles. Bedrooms are all on the ground floor, with the master opening up to the private garden.

Cool and contemporary inside, it’s quite the contrast to the rugged landscape surrounding it. Just take care with the cliff edge – little ones and four-legged friends will need to be supervised.

If you get the master bedroom, make sure you throw open those French doors and enjoy the coastal view from the balcony. Outside the address, the Wales Coast Path is on your doorstep, so you could visit a different beach every day if you so wished. We love this home's interior. It exudes warmth and comfort, with a country-style kitchen that'll delight any home chef. But really, our favourite bit of this charming home is the suntrap of a garden. Surrounded by lush greenery, with a sweet converted shed at the bottom of the garden. And to top it all off, your bubbling hot tub awaits – submerge into its warm, muscle-soothing waters after a day exploring the area's many cycling and hiking trails. When you're not tucking into barbecue dinners in the garden or relaxing in the hot tub, you'll be cosy on the plush sofa, sipping on a glass of red wine in front of the crackling fire, watching a film on Netflix.

This breezy bungalow is the definition of contemporary coastal, with its natural textiles, soothing blue and white colour scheme and seaside-inspired decorations. It's as relaxing as it looks, especially the cosy living area – on chilly evenings, curl up by the fire after sharing a family meal around the dining table. Cooking is anything but a chore in the modern kitchen, and the bi-fold doors are a real treat – when the weather is nice, you can step straight into the sun-soaked garden and relax or dine alfresco. We suggest enjoying breakfast in the morning light before heading out for a day on the coast. Pack a picnic and hit the beach – National Trust's Llanbedrog Beach is a twelve-minute walk away, while Abersoch and Pwllheli are less than a ten-minute drive if you'd like to switch things up. After an afternoon splashing in the water and wandering the coastal paths, enjoy a pint and delicious bites at the two pubs in town – both are family-friendly and are a short stroll from home.

Towards The Sea

Perfectly situated for exploring the stunning Llyn Peninsula and Snowdonia National Park – this lovely cottage has a great location. If you like gardening, there’s a garden centre, with a café within walking distance, while the Wales Coast Path and Abererch Beach are 2.4 miles away. You don’t have to go anywhere for stunning views – a bench at the front of the cottage lovers over Cardigan Bay or take a seat in the private patio area, have a slice of complimentary cake and admire the vistas over to Snowdonia. This stone-built cottage is semi-detached and some of the lawned areas are shared, so you may not have the place totally to yourself though.

Gwynedd Dream

Offering stunning mountain and sea views, this semi-detached cottage is conveniently located just 3 miles from the seaside town of Pwllheli and its beaches, marina, and cafes. With a sociable open-plan living and dining set-up, the space opens onto the garden's private patio terrace overlooking Snowdonia. Meanwhile, an extended lawn area is shared with the holiday cottage next door. It's an excellent base for exploring the golden beaches and picturesque villages of Llyn Peninsula, as well as Snowdonia National Park.

This lovely 18th-century blacksmith’s cottage makes for a wonderful holiday home. It’s in a quiet location on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula, so you’re guaranteed a serene break but you’re within easy reach of plenty of attractions. There are countless small towns and villages to explore nearby, and you’re right on the coast. It takes fifteen minutes to stroll along to Llanbedrog Beach, where you can admire the beach huts, paddle in the shallows, and relax on the sand. Gorgeous Abersoch is just seven minutes away by car, too. 

If you’re feeling active, you might lace up your hiking boots and set off on the Llanbedrog walking trail to Mynydd Tir-y-Cwmwd. You’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Cardigan Bay and the peninsula. When you return to the cottage, you can rest your weary muscles in the fabulous hot tub. Sip Champagne as you soak in the bubbles and relax. When the sun has set, you’ll be treated to wonderfully clear skies for stargazing. 

The cottage itself has all the charm of a period property, but it’s been brought up to date so you can look forward to luxurious touches. When you’re not soaking in the hot tub, you might be curled up in front of the log burner. There’s also a cute beach hut in the garden where you can dine, having fired up the barbecue for dinner. It’s practically impossible to leave here feeling anything less than completely blissed out.

The house is a quick walk to Machroes Beach, a long sandy expanse perfect for splashing around in the shallows or practising a wide range of watersports like sailing and windsurfing. Follow the coastal path which runs close to the house, for rambling walks through stunning scenery. Machroes Beach backs onto Abersoch golf course, where you can have a swing and a putt on their 18-hole course overlooking the ocean. 

Emerald Shores

This coastal home sits within beautiful grounds at the entrance to the village of Abersoch, making it an ideal setting for seaside escapes. The uninterrupted sea views are undoubtedly the star of the show here, and they can be enjoyed from inside and out. We love the flower-filled garden, and the front terrace with its table and chairs – it’s a stunning spot for afternoon tea. Inside, you’ll find high ceilings and antique furniture. Given that it’s a period home, it’s unsurprising that some of the decor is a little dated – it won’t appeal to everyone.

Gwynedd Glamour

This cute little cottage makes the most of its location right on the seafront. It’s just steps away from a small sandy bay where the sea laps at the shore of the Llyn Peninsula. You’ll be in the heart of Abersoch village, a charming harbour town where fishing boats bob in the water and beach cafés line the shore. If you like your beaches long and practically deserted, it’s an eight-minute drive to Porth Neigwl. The cottage itself is fishing-village white on the outside and has a handful of balconies and terraces all facing the beautiful sea view. There’s a walled patio with an outdoor fire for chilly evenings and a dining table on the terrace for sunny days. That’s not to mention the glass-fronted balcony that looks out over the boats in the harbour too. Inside, it’s cottage-chic with wooden floors and nautical decor touches – driftwood fireplaces and anchor cushions. The main living area is open plan, on the ground floor, where a living room is set around an electric stove and the big breakfasting table is set for six. Upstairs, a more formal living room opens up onto the top terrace with views out over the harbour below.

A two-minute walk from the fine sands and shallow water of Abersoch Harbour Beach, this home is perfect for a family or group of friends looking for a modern seaside escape. Inside, light and space are cleverly maximised – we loved the open-plan living area with its enormous windows and double-height ceilings. Your mornings begin here with a coffee on the comfortable sofa before choosing to breakfast on one of the sun trap balconies. 

If exploring is on the agenda, lace up your hiking boots and follow the Wales Coastal Path to Pwllheli or stay local and take the ten-minute amble into the heart of town for indie shops and fantastic seafood eateries. Surfing enthusiasts should make a beeline for Hell’s Mouth, a seven-minute drive away – keep an eye out for Bottlenose dolphins as you carve through the waves. When the day draws to a close, head back to your pad for a chilled glass of wine as the sun starts to set and an early night in the cosy bedrooms, ready to do it all again tomorrow.

First of all there’s that view from the garden out over the green of the LLyn Peninsula and to the denim-blue Cardigan Bay beyond. This family home is mere footsteps from Abersoch’s soft-sanded beach, and a short dander sees you in the centre of this harbour town for meals out and coastal strolls. It feels undeniably beachy in a white clapboard exterior reminiscent of the beach huts nearby. Inside, the space is far from shed-like though, with towering ceilings in the open living area and a wall of windows showing off the view of the fields outside Abersoch. A cast-iron stove in the living room and purring Aga in the kitchen provide warmth in a traditional way and the dedicated double wine fridge in the dining area can keep your whites cool as you like. 

If the sun makes an appearance, there’s a long dining table for the group out on the patio, and an added bonus is the rooftop balcony, accessed by a spiral staircase, and looking out over the countryside towards the sea.

It may be a five-minute drive from the beaches of Hells Mouth, but this home is more like heaven. Dating back to the 13th century, this former mill cottage has been beautifully restored to a two bedroom home that feels much lighter and airer on the inside than the old stone exterior would have you believe – charming though it is.
