Set on a gently sloping hillside above the semi-circular bay of Vasiliki, this home has amazing views of the sandy, family-friendly beach of Ponti. There’s a sparkling private swimming pool and sun terrace for those long sunny days. Inside, the minimalist chalet-style decor lets the wonderful sea vistas do the talking. Location-wise, it’s 1.5 kilometres to the nearest taverna and 200 metres further to the sandy beach of Ponti (remember to wear comfy shoes if you decide to walk, as it's uphill on the way back). This area is perfect for wind and kite surfing, kayaking, yachting, and scuba diving too, making it a perfect base for active and leisure travellers alike.

Bright, modern and only 350 metres from Vasiliki Beach, this villa is an excellent choice for a family or close-knit group of friends wanting to while away the hours in the sunshine. Roll out of bed and onto the balcony to bask in the morning breeze. Should you start to feel peckish, put together a platter of fresh produce in the kitchen and dine outside in the shade of the covered terrace. 

When the sun reaches its highest point, slink into the private pool and cool off with a couple of unhurried laps. Loll about on the loungers or take a break from the heat and relax in the breezy living space – we loved the juxtaposition of the curved wall and sharp lines of the contemporary furnishings. If exploring is on the agenda, take the short five-minute drive into Vasiliki village. Watch the boats to and fro from the picturesque port and feast on delicious Greek cuisine in waterside tavernas.

Nestled into the hillside, overlooking the glittering Ionian Sea, this bright and boho-chic villa offers tranquillity and comfort in a postcard-perfect setting. We loved the laidback interiors – the neutral colour scheme and natural textures are instantly calming. Wake up feeling refreshed in pared-back bedrooms then tuck into a traditional Greek breakfast in the open-plan living space. Throw open the glass doors to let in a fresh, salt-tinged breeze. 

In the lull before lunchtime, soak up the glorious sunshine from the patio loungers or cool off with a gentle swim in the private pool. When it’s time for something to eat, take the quick five-minute drive into the charming fishing village of Vasiliki. Dine in waterside tavernas framed by blooms of bougainvillaea and follow with a stroll along the golden sands of Vasiliki Beach. And when the day draws to a close, head home to watch an unforgettable sunset from your terrace. We think it’s best enjoyed with a glass of your favourite tipple in hand.

On the southern coast of Lefkas, the azure waters of the Ionian Sea stretch out for miles. This island plays host to the spectacular Mount Elati, and the foot of the mountain is just a fifteen-minute drive from this coastal villa. En route, you’ll also pass by the Fabbrica Olive Museum, housed in an old olive oil factory. But if you’re more interested in beaches, you’ll have plenty of choice too.

Six minutes from Vasiliki Beach, this villa stands tall by cliffs that are simply made for panoramic views. In traditional style, the home has white plaster balustrades around its terrace and balconies, as well as terracotta roof tiles and native foliage at its entrance. However, the interiors are surprisingly modern. Understated furniture, a white tiled floor, and a neutral colour scheme allow for the main feature to stand out – that view. 

Open the curtains to see rolling hills, quaint coastal towns, and of course the big blue sea. And if you peer over the edge a bit more, look down to your very own covered terraces, and a pool area on the lower ground level. Sun loungers, a stone-built barbecue, and parasols complete the poolside vibe, with striking views continuing over the edge.

The interiors in this Greek home may be on the simple side, but the sun-drenched terraces, private pool and swoon-worthy views make up for it. If you like your coastal getaway with a little pinch of sea vistas, this villa will be in the running for you. Take your pick of outdoor spaces to enjoy an apéritif as you drink in the scenery and if the coast starts calling your name, you’re in luck – the nearest beach is just twenty metres away. With sandy shores and shallow waters, it’s a popular spot for watersport enthusiasts and families alike.

Blessed with a privileged position overlooking Vasiliki beach, this beautiful hillside villa is perfectly placed for a blissful Greek retreat on the island of Lefkada.

The villa's interior is elegantly simple, with a well-equipped kitchen leading directly to an outdoor dining area with a retractable awning so you can seek solace from the heat of the midday sun at lunchtime before dining under the stars in the evening. 

Upstairs, the two bedrooms benefit from jaw-dropping panoramas, private outdoor spaces and their own en-suite bathrooms. The curved design of the main bedroom is a particular highlight and offers 270-degree views over the surrounding landscape.

Lesser known than Corfu to the north and Kefalonia to the south, Lefkada is where you want to head for some of the best beaches this side of the Indian Ocean. With secluded coves, golden sands and crystal-clear waters, you've got all the ingredients for a picture-perfect escape. The nearby western coast will dazzle you with its beautiful beaches, such as Porto Katsiki​, fifteen kilometres away. 

Closer to home, the village of Vasiliki is something of a watersports and windsurfing mecca with a pebble and shingle beach that makes for stunning clear seas. There are plenty of traditional tavernas and lively bars, particularly around the harbour, where you can practically eat with your toes in the water.

Few views are more breathtaking than this. Luckily, you'll be able to make the most of them from the radiant terrace and oodles of outdoor spaces – every nook and cranny, both inside and out, shows off the Ionian Sea glistening on the horizon.

Morning, noon or night, a home like this calls for spending every spare moment outside. Rise with the sun each morning and savour a coffee on the balcony, then pad downstairs for breakfast on the terrace. Enjoy long, lazy afternoons splashing in the pool, snoozing on the lounge chairs and watching the waves crash on nearby Vasiliki Beach. Craving the feel of the sand between your toes? Grab your bag and set off for the shore – it's just a brisk 450-metre stroll away.

Later on, once the daylight begins to fade, return home for dinner and drinks alfresco. Fire up the barbecue and dine underneath twilight skies before ending the evening with a glass of wine and good company – toasting those unforgettable panoramas, of course.

There's nothing quite like a sea view, and this home delivers panoramic scenery in spades. It's located outside the small but idyllic village of Vasiliki, just 20 meters from a sandy beach. All levels have balconies or terraces so you can enjoy the Ionian vistas with ease, whether you're swimming in the private pool, sipping cocktails on the balcony, or dining on Grecian delights under the covered terrace. Inside, the rooms are cosy, if a little dated. The style may not win any awards, but it doesn't have to with views like that.
