The main villa boasts an open, breezy living area where a sleek white kitchen and ink-black dining table are pure zen, and soft blues and teal in the living room remind us of the sea scene outside. There’s a second sitting room which can act as a private office should you need to work remotely – the sea view from glass balcony doors here can’t help but inspire and you can pause for a break on lounge furniture as boats drift by. Those that appreciate a bit more privacy can opt for the garden annexe with its own entrance, kitchenette and sitting room.

This stunning home sits on the beachfront facing the Ionian Sea. You can be on the soft white sand of Sivota Bay in just a few steps, and can take boat trips from the jetty. The villa and its gardens are where you’ll likely want to spend most of your holiday though. There’s something for everyone, from the private pool and shaded veranda to the giant chess board. Inside, a home cinema in one of the living rooms will help keep little ones entertained, and there’s a sauna and hammam for relaxing.

Situated on the edge of Greece's Ionian sea, this villa offers a slice of Corfu's historic beauty, but with all the trimmings of modern luxury you could possibly need on a trip away. The star attraction here is your proximity to a wonderful private beach, which is quite literally at the foot of the garden. Wake up late with a black coffee in hand, and wander a matter of metres until your bare feet touch warm sand.

The location of this home is one you'll most likely not want to leave. But if you do fancy venturing further afield, Corfu is an island with so much to explore. Those with a hire car will be able to take full advantage. Lefkimmi is a lovely town you can reach in less than ten-minutes for evenings out dining on a different kind of mezze, while the party hub of Kavos can also be reached in a ten-minute drive. If lively bars aren't your cup of tea, then why not take advantage of the vibrant beaches here? There are plenty of them dotted around this southern part of Corfu.

This villa grabbed our attention for its spectacular views of the Ionian Sea. Best appreciated from the poolside – where you can watch the sunset over the water – each room inside also has sea views. Add to this an infinity lap pool, a shaded alfresco dining area, and direct access to a rocky beach, and you have all the ingredients for a memorable holiday. Located on the island of Paxos, which is only 10 kilometres by three kilometres, nothing is far away here. We recommend hiring a car to visit the island’s three villages, Gaios, Loggos, and Lakka, and discover some of the many swimming coves along the coast.
