The balcony is dreamy, and where you’ll likely spend most of your time, though the rest of the home is charming too. With two bathrooms, it’s plenty big enough for four. You'll need to pay for your linen unless you plan on bringing your own.

The villa is sunny and tranquil, with a soft colour palette that allows the view to take centre stage. There are two stand-up paddleboards for you to use, which is a great way of exploring the coast a little further. There are plenty of beaches to explore aside from your own – why not drive seven minutes to Spiaggia dei Baracconi?

Rinse off the sand in the outdoor hot water shower, then start thinking about dinner. Maybe you’ll pop into town for some fresh seafood, or perhaps you’ll get to work in the outdoor kitchen? The place is unfussy but well-equipped and the separate bedroom and bathroom are ideal for those who’d like their own space. Outside, there are plenty of spots to unwind in the sunshine and the private pool offers knockout views of the Mediterranean Sea. Location-wise, you’re a short drive from traditional restaurants and Li Cossi Beach.

Switch off and experience the beauty of Sardinia at this home in Punta Molara. Despite lacking wi-fi, the dappled veranda and private swimming pool will be a welcome distraction. The views are pretty great, too – and the alfresco dining table and outdoor sofa are perfect places to enjoy them. All the bedrooms are a good size – one is even located on the lower level with its own entrance – but you'll need to pay for bed linen and towels or bring your own. As for location, Cala Ginepro's crystal-clear waters and pebbled beach are 800 metres away, while the city of Olbia and its many cafe-flanked piazzas is a 12-kilometre drive.

Incredible Mediterranean views await at this villa located in the village of Cugnana, just 13 kilometres from the city of Olbia. With a panoramic patio complete with outdoor seating and a sparkling infinity pool, you’ll find yourself whiling away sunny days taking dips in its waters and soaking up the far-reaching vistas in complete relaxation. The pair of living areas across the home’s two floors means it’s perfect for groups looking for a bit of autonomy, and while bed linens and towels aren’t included here, we’re willing to overlook this for its fabulous locale and picture-perfect views. Elsewhere away from home, the crystal-blue waters of Golfo Aranci are 15 kilometres away and the beach of Liscia Ruja – one of the jewels of the Costa Smeralda – is 14 kilometres.

Overlooking the sea on the Sardinian coast, this home caught our eye thanks to its enviable location. If topping up your tan is high on your holiday to-do list, you’ll welcome the sight of the communal pool, surrounded by sun loungers. For those who prefer some quiet time to unwind with a book, the shaded terrace back at home is a real treat, with the sea views only adding to its appeal. You’ll need a car to get around and for local amenities in Golfo Aranci – exploring the island further is a must. 


A Perfect Ambience

Featuring picturesque scenery – best viewed from the private terrace, this apartment offers a boutique hotel-like experience, with the added privacy of having your own cooking and dining facilities. While the swimming pool is shared with other guests staying in neighbouring apartments, the complex is quiet and residential and there are thirty apartments in total on-site. Separated into two buildings, three of the double-bedroom suites are located in the annexe. Meanwhile, the other two bedrooms are found alongside the living area and dining area in the main building. Additionally, the laundry room is bound to come in handy for those here on longer stays.

On a panoramic promontory, close to the glamour and glitz of the Costa Smeralda, this charming villa is the perfect base for exploring Sardinia’s splendid coast. The view over the Gulf of Portisco is the kind of sight we’ve been dreaming of all winter. Picture yourself soaking up the Sardinian sun beside the lagoon-like pool or gazing out over olive trees and deep blue ocean from the veranda. Inside provides a welcome respite from the heat of the midday sun, with cool terracotta floors, traditional furniture and local handicrafts. You’re 2km away from a string of white sand beaches, as well as the Marina di Portisco with its selection of waterfront restaurants. The characterful borgo of San Pantaleo is just inland and is ideal for picking up fresh produce for an Italian style feast come the evening. You’ll want to be back home before the sun goes down though, for an aperitif with a view.

You’ll find this unfussy villa in northeast Sardinia, around 500 metres from Le Saline Beach and 11 kilometres from the city of Olbia, home to the medieval San Simplicio basilica and a palm-fringed waterfront. Back at the abode, two living areas provide plenty of space for the whole group to stretch out and the garden is the ideal spot to relax in the sunshine or shade. Granted, there’s no swimming pool here, but with the coast so easily accessible we don’t think you’ll mind too much.

Although bed linen and towels are an additional cost, each bedroom is comfortable and cosy – but, as there's only space for eight around the table, we think ten guests will be a squeeze. Location-wise, Costa Paradiso is yours to discover. Li Cossi beach is less than a five-minute drive, with restaurants, bars and seasonal shops also within striking distance.

Serene Seas

With a private garden overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, this charming bungalow makes for a restful stay. The interiors are on the minimal side of things, but the space feels perfectly practical and inviting. Outside, you’ll find a dining table and barbecue to share alfresco dinners, and as night falls, you can enjoy the sunset with a glass of locally-produced Vermentino. Although there isn’t a swimming pool here, the sands of Quarta Spiaggia are just a few steps away, so after soaking up the sun, you can cool off in the crystal-clear waters.

Often overlooked for its showier cousin – Costa Smeralda – the authentic port town of Olbia remains relatively untouched by tourism. Discover its charms at this dazzling new apartment overlooking the waterfront and just a short walk from the town's historic centre, crammed with boutiques, wine bars and a restaurant-lined plaza. More like a hotel room than an apartment – it's important to note there's no kitchen or living area here. If you're staying in a home situated on the Sardinian coastline, it would be a crying shame if the address didn't have an outdoor spot from which to admire the majesty of the local landscape. Thankfully, this apartment in the north of the island really delivers on the front.

Not only is there a large sun terrace with 180-degree views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and Tavolara island, but there are two further verandahs with alfresco tables and a well-kept garden. There are pleasant views out through the home's windows too, which, thanks to the elevated position, also bring in lots of natural light. This asset works particularly well with the bright and contemporary design throughout, from the white walls and glossy kitchen surfaces to the rather striking head sculpture in the living space.

When it comes to seeing a little more of the local area, there's a rock beach only eighty metres from the home and the sandy Spiaggia Mare Rocce is two hundred metres' walk. There's a decent choice of restaurants in the surrounding town of Pittulongu, while you can find a wider choice, plus some archaeological ruins, in the city of Olbia, just over fifteen minutes' drive away.

This wonderful villa is located in the north of Sardinia, just a stone's throw away from the rugged coast. It's the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing getaway on this sunny island, the second largest in the Mediterranean Sea. 

The spacious home is actually composed of the main house and a separate outbuilding, meaning that all guests can enjoy some peace and quiet. You can flop down inside with a good book to hide from the heat, but we think you'll want to spend most of your time enjoying the fabulous outdoor space. Follow the path, and you'll find a chill-out zone, where you can relax with a glass of Pinot Grigio as you admire the sea views. And, there's even a sparkling swimming pool – take a dip before refueling with an alfresco meal cooked on the grill. 

If you're taking a boat with you, you can arrange to moor it at the Marina di Sa Jaga, just a short walk away. When you fancy a beach day, hop in the car and drive over to Spiaggia di Marinella for a day on the sand. And, if you're feeling adventurous, head inland to hike through the epic landscapes – there's no place quite like Sardinia.

This villa stands in the village of Budoni, within easy reach of the beautiful Cala Brandinchi beach and Lu Impostu. The decor is simple, and there isn’t much space for everyone inside – but with views like this, you won’t be spending much time indoors. The terrace is a great spot for alfresco meals, and kids will love the private swimming pool. We recommend hiring a car so you can get out and explore more of Sardinia. 

Sea Breeze Reverie

Located in Porto Istana, on the northeastern coast of Sardinia, this terracotta-toned home is a slice of botanical beauty with its palm and cactus-filled garden and its idyllic coastal setting. 

Inside, exposed beams, Provençal yellow walls, comfortable furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows create a warm welcome in the living room, which gives way to the shaded patio area outside. Make yourself comfortable on the outdoor wicker sofa or stake your claim on one of the garden-facing sun loungers to soak up some rays. 

When you’re not spending time in your private oasis, sandy Porto Istana beach is just a five-minute drive away. Olbia’s palm-lined waterfront is also within easy reach in less than twenty minutes, where boutiques, wine bars and cafe-rimmed piazzas wait to be explored. After a day at the beach or sightseeing, come back home for cocktails in the garden, followed by an alfresco barbecue dinner of dreams.

This villa is an excellent spot in which to admire the natural beauty of Sardinia. Thanks to the home's elevated position, guests get a wonderful view of the dazzling blue waters of Porto Rotondo from the upper floors. However, don't be surprised if the paradisical garden immediately below grabs your attention, too.

Out here in among the colourful flower beds and handsome granite walls, you can while away lazy afternoons paddling about in the swimming pool, catching some rays on the loungers or cooking up a storm in the outdoor kitchen (complete with a barbecue and pizza oven).

Inside, the home is spread across four floors, so while there are plenty of stairs, it feels cool and airy, thanks to the high ceilings, stark white walls and terracotta tiling underfoot. There's a discernible rustic theme to the design, from the wicker chairs and natural-themed artwork to the large rock feature in the main entrance hall.

With the nautical location, you might not be surprised to learn that there are two beaches that can be reached in just over a quarter of an hour's walk (Spiaggia dei Sassi and di Ira), while the historic city of Olbia takes a similar amount of time to reach in the car, too. Closer to home, there are a handful of restaurants, bars and discos in the local area.

Location wise, you’re a short drive from the centre of Golfo Aranci, where you’ll find a picturesque harbour and a selection of restaurants and bars, and a fifteen minute drive from the historic town of Olbia.

However, we think most of your time will be spent outdoors – taking advantage of this great location.
