There are a lot of things we like about this lodge in the Alpine village of Cortina d'Amprezzo, but we'd be lying if we didn't single out the rather lovely view from the balcony as our standout highlight – from this spot, it's possible to gaze out over the locale's rooftops and dramatically beautiful mountains beyond.

Back inside, the interior design is as rustic as you might imagine, with an abundance of wood in everything from the walls and floors to the furnishings and finishes. A few pieces of artwork and natural decorative items lend a little character, while the horseshoe-shaped kitchen has enough space for cooking up hearty dinners when you're fresh off the slopes.

Ah yes, skiing – there's plenty of opportunity for winter sports here, with lifts up to the slopes lying within walking distance. Even closer, there are restaurants, shops and a museum within the town to explore.

But with three floors and steep steps here, it will be difficult for guests who struggle with stairs. The charm of this home rests in its infinite list of hidden surprises, in each and every room, prepare to be amazed at the never-ending array of things to see and do. At the heart of the home, there is a vast living room of nearly 200 square metres – furnished with amenities; it is divided into several zones to enjoy moments of solitude while still spending quality time as one big group. From the relaxation zone with a TV and the reading area with an extensive well-stocked library to the kitchen and dining area – we love how the layout and open space of the main living quarters creates a sociable space to enjoy together. 

Take a stroll in the gardens, where tall trees and plants form a serene setting for strolling amidst the abundance of flora and fauna. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the fish and turtles swimming in the pond. Once you've taken it all in, head back to the Mediterranean conservatory lounge for some shisha and herbal tea. From there, the world is your oyster. Why not book a massage at the spa? Or head out to discover the local town of Vitorio Venito steeping in history. It's safe to say we wouldn't recommend leaving here without going on a wine tour and tastings of one of the local Prosecco vineyards either. 




Prosecco Mansion

Nestled in Cecina village, where rolling green hills form an enviable backdrop, this villa lies only minutes from the famous Lake Garda. But it isn't all about location, even though we love how quickly you can walk to a restaurant from here. With most of the rooms spilling out onto large terraces, where you can appreciate the landscape from poolside or under vine-covered pergolas whilst having an alfresco breakfast, it feels like a celebration of the beautiful untamed surroundings. Throw in the typical architecture, rustic decor – though it might not be to everyone's taste – and ample space and we had to add it to our collection.
