With extremely high ceilings and roomy interiors, you'll have all the comfort you need to unwind after a long day of exploring Porto's secrets.

You will be in the heart of Porto's art district, home to amazing galleries, and boutiques owned by rising artists, with glimpses of real Portuguese life around every corner. After grabbing a couple of Pasteis de Nata, walk across the Luis I Bridge, one that offers a panoramic view of both sides of the river and enables you to see exquisite aspects of the city that you would miss from the ground. Make a trip to Livraria Lello – if you're a Harry Potter fan, you'll know that this bookstore served as an inspiration for author J.K. Rowling, who resided in Porto.


Sweetness of Joy

If you want your city break to have a side of relaxation and luxury, this is the holiday home for you. This gorgeous duplex sits in a lovely spot close to the River Douro, offering beautiful views across the water. As soon as you arrive, you’ll be drawn out to the balcony, where – if you’re anything like us – you’ll tuck into breakfast each day, and round things off by watching the sunset with a glass of wine. It’s an idyllic spot. 

Inside, the apartment is just as striking. Exposed stone walls and dark wood furniture combine with floor-to-ceiling windows to stunning effect, and everything you need is close to hand. Cook local dishes in the kitchen and dine in together, opening up the balcony doors to merge the indoor and outdoor spaces for cocktail hour. 

When you want to see more of Porto, you’ll find that you’re within easy walking distance of all of the major sights and attractions. You’ll never want to leave this classy and convenient home. 


River View Rest

This deluxe penthouse, situated in the heart of Porto, is perfect for large groups of friends or families. It features a cosy living room, decorated in fresh plant life and tinges of light colours, which can host the whole group. Snuggle up on the sofas or gather around the circular table, sharing a bottle of port whilst you discuss the adventures of tomorrow.

Such is the proximity to Porto's main districts and iconic attractions, that adventure could begin right on your doorstep. Mosey through the charming cobbles and cute cafes located near the apartment, stopping off for some caldo verde or bite of gelato.

When the brightness of the day descends into the dreamy hum of the evening, make your way to the idyllic harbour. Take a stroll along the river, lined by colourful houses, and feel the romance of the city lace the vibrant bars, restaurants and shops.

Fresh Peaches

Situated right where the River Douro meets the Atlantic Ocean, this stylish apartment offers spectacular views and plenty of living space. Two balconies grant you the opportunity to relax in the sun – the one off the main bedroom is perfect for morning cups of coffee, while the downstairs balcony is ideal for cocktails as the evening draws to a close. Floor-to-ceiling windows show off the scenery all day long, a sleek kitchen makes rustling up meals a breeze and a cosy sofa is a perfect spot to kick back and relax after a busy day exploring. Our favourite room is the main bedroom. As well as the private balcony, it has all the bells and whistles you'd want – blackout blinds, built-in Bluetooth speakers and a lavish rainfall shower in the en-suite. 

When you're ready to explore, both the 1 and 18 trams run right past the home, so you'll have no problem getting to and from Porto's bustling city centre. That said, Foz do Douro isn't lacking in activities, either. Sprawl out on the miles of sandy beaches (Praia das Pastoras is a fifteen-minute walk away), grab dinner and drinks at one of the waterfront restaurants or just stroll along the river, admiring the many landmarks, lighthouses and sculptures representing Portugal's rich history.

Still River

In Porto, it doesn’t get much better than a riverfront location. And this super sleek apartment has enviable views of the Duoro from walls of glass. In the direct neighbourhood, you’re secluded from the bustle of the city centre, but you can watch it all from your quiet location across the river. It’s less than ten minutes on foot to the famous wine and port cellars that line the Duoro and twenty minutes will see you in the historic district of Ribera.

Stepping inside is like entering the pages of an interior design magazine, with warm wood and ink-black accents throughout and walls of glass letting the river view take centre stage. Modern artworks adorn the walls and everything feels open and spacious. There’s a sleek little stove in the living room, and the bedroom’s ensuite has a jetted Jacuzzi tub for an indulgent soak at the end of the day. 

Viticulture by the River

Pack your bags and head to lovely Porto for a stay at this sleek apartment, right in the town centre. Perfect for little families, couples or business travellers, you'll have a great time immersing yourself in this vibrant city. 

The open-plan living space has a calming ambiance with crisp white walls, natural wood floors, and soothing blue tones – you'll settle in here in no time at all. The bedroom is equally calming and guarantees you a good night's sleep after a day of adventures. But the best part of all has to be the large terrace – slide open the doors and head outside to sip your morning coffee in the sunshine, or enjoy a nightcap in the balmy evening breeze. 

From here, you can easily access the city's best-loved sights. Wander through the cobbled streets and visit port cellars, artisanal boutiques, and local restaurants to get a true taste of Porto life. You can walk down to the river, with its impressive bridges in under twenty minutes, stopping off at some of the city's beautiful churches on the way. And, with Livraria Lello just a twelve-minute walk away, you can be first in line to visit the iconic bookshop. 

Sunshine on the Terrace

From its enviable position in the centre of Porto, this stylish yet functional apartment is an excellent choice for families and groups of friends alike. The open-plan living space is perfectly proportioned, with enough room for entertaining your loved ones or enjoying a quiet moment with a cup of coffee. We had a particular soft spot for the individually designed bedrooms and we loved the kitchen’s handy serving hatch.

When you’re ready to explore your surroundings. Begin with a trip to Porto Cathedral, just a short walk from your building. Or why not head down to the water? Amble alongside the Duoro River with an ice cream in hand before watching the world pass by in a charming cafe. In the early evening, we recommend watching the sunset from the nearby Miradouro da Rua das Aldas viewpoint. 

Peach & Emerald

Found in one of the oldest residential buildings in Porto, this apartment might not look 200 years old thanks to modernisation, but it remains historic. Now updated to house families itching to explore this UNESCO World Heritage City, it's comfortable – though the two bedrooms with the sloped ceilings might be better for kids – and bright with a fantastic location. Walk to Porto Cathedral and other landmarks in minutes, buy fresh produce from the Bolhão market only a short stroll away, and hop on the trams to find points of interest further afield. 

A Little Piece of Porto

We had to break from doing some serious shopping to tell you about this Porto gem. This elegant apartment, housed in a recently renovated 20th-century building, is located right in the heart of the pedestrianised retail hub of Rua Santa Catarina. For fresh produce and a vibrant atmosphere, head to Mercado do Bolhão, a three-minute walk away. It's not all about shopping, though – the Chapel of Souls is a two-minute walk away, where you'll discover its beautiful azulejo tiled façade. Or take a break in the Café Majestic, a beautiful Art Nouveau café, a five-minute walk from this home. A little further, Porto Cathedral is fourteen minutes on foot. Then stop off at the small port wine shop opposite this home and take some back to this apartment.

Inside, there are furnishings from Portuguese designers and artists. Lots of large windows allow light to flood in. We adore the spacious open plan living space with its two French doors, which open onto a small balustraded balcony overlooking the street. Off the bedroom, there's a secluded terrace too, perfect for a coffee or glass of Port. Later, chill out on the mezzanine level or have a game of chess. There's plenty of room for a family or friends to spread out here. If you prefer to eat in, whip up a bacalhau à Gomes (cod casserole) in the modern kitchen and enjoy it at your dining table. Honestly, though, you probably won't be spending that much time indoors with so much on your doorstep.



Blue Sails

To find a home this pretty and right in the beating heart of Porto, well, that’s special. But to bag a place with an all-too-rare outdoor terrace too? Then you’re onto a winner.

Inside, while this apartment is studio living, we think it’s expertly formed and feels surprisingly spacious. The designers knew what they were doing here, with earthy textures, warm wooden hues, and pops of botanical greens fusing beautifully.

Over in the made-for-action kitchen, there’s everything you could need to rustle up a bite to eat. And don’t get us started on the bedroom area with charming views over the terrace to the lofty palm trees and blue skies beyond.

Sunny mornings call for breakfast and freshly brewed coffees on the veranda as you hatch plans for the day ahead. And you won’t have far to go when it’s time to get out and about. 

Lose yourself in the city’s alley-woven historic heart brimming with boutiques, including the neo-Gothic, Livraria Lello (twelve minutes on foot) – the bookshop was a source of inspiration for the Harry Potter books, we hear. Grab a sunny spot for a bite to eat at one of the many Petiscarias (that’s Portuguese-style tapas bars to us). Then enjoy a post-lunch hazy walk along the banks of the Douro River (nineteen minutes on foot). Or hop on the Trindade metro station (a four-minute walk away) to discover further-flung corners of this opulent city.  

Super Naturals

This modern apartment is in the middle of Porto, an easy walk from the Douro River where you’ll find the famous wine warehouses and day cruises. The streets around this place are packed with restaurants and bars, yet the living room faces an internal courtyard for a bit of peace. While there’s nothing particularly unique about the design, the open living area is a comfy spot to unwind with a full kitchen for meals at home. The main bedroom leads out to a private balcony which is great for a breath of fresh air, despite the lack of view. 

The Warmth of Your Smile

Not too far from central Porto, this apartment is just around the corner from Faria Guimarães metro station. It makes an excellent base for sightseeing – you're close enough to explore on foot, but still tucked away from the hustle and bustle in livelier neighbourhoods.

Spend your days roaming along the postcard-pretty Praça da Ribeira, sampling Portuguese cuisine at the local cafes and discovering the hidden gems that lurk down every alleyway. Then, following your adventures, make your way home to this cosy flat and unwind in style. Stretch out on the sofa to rest weary legs before rustling up something to nibble on in the kitchenette. After dinner, pour yourself a glass of the city's famous port wine to enjoy alfresco on the terrace, watching as the sun slowly sets beyond the horizon.
