Splashes of colour throughout the apartment add vibrancy to every room – our favourite is the deep shades of blue in the living room. Relax on the balcony in the mornings with a toasty cup of coffee while tucking into a homecooked breakfast made with produce bought from the local Santo Amaro markets.

With just a short walk, you'll find yourself in the centre of Lagos with a wide variety of shops to browse. Treat yourself to a delicious slice of cake at one of the many central cafés, followed by a trip to the beach. Make sure you bring a bucket and spade if you're with children, so you can spend the afternoon building sandcastles under the sun.

Dine at Batata Beach Bar for some coastal delicacies and return home to unwind after a day of adventuring. Head up to the rooftop pool to sit on a sun lounger with a sumptuous glass of red while watching the sunset. A sleek kitchen provides everything you need to rustle up a delicious dinner if you fancy an evening at home, and still allows you to peek out at the ocean. 

If you’re not out exploring Lagos and its welcoming beaches where water sports are a must, you can while away the hours easily in this home. You won't have to travel far to discover Praia da Luz's sandy shores, coastal hiking routes and mouthwatering restaurants in the centre, as nearly everything is within walking distance. But for those craving some boutique shopping and buzzing nightlife, Lagos is an easy fifteen drive away.

When you're not dipping your toes in the Atlantic or admiring the views from the iconic Rocha Negra, we bet we'll find you basking in the sunshine back at home. You've got options when it comes to relaxing in the fresh air – upstairs, the main suite's balcony is a sweet spot to enjoy your morning coffee, while downstairs, a small patio with lounge chairs overlooks the complex's sparkling communal pool. Gaze across the picturesque bay and feel the sea tugging at you to pack your beach bag and hit the sand. Praia da Luz is just a fifteen-minute walk away, after all.

After a lazy day in the Portuguese heat, gather the group inside to cool down over a pool tournament, or split off for a solo soak in the jacuzzi bathtub. As the sun sets, return to the terrace for a debrief of the day as you sip vinho and tuck into a hearty meal whipped up in the kitchen.

But if you'd rather take things at a slower pace, Praia da Luz is about ten minutes on foot – perfect for a spot of sunbathing on the sand and swimming in the Atlantic Ocean.  

In between Algarve explorations, relax in style at this breezy townhouse. Wake up in the light-filled main bedroom and pad immediately out to the south-facing balcony to enjoy your cup of coffee in the fresh air. The sparkling sea view is a bonus – we can't think of a better way to start the day than gazing out at the ocean blue. Come evening, tuck into an alfresco Portuguese feast on the sun-dappled patio, enjoying a bottle of wine and good conversation as the sun slowly sinks overhead. Afterwards, unwind in the contemporary living room before bed, taking turns on the telescope to spot glittering stars, planets and constellations – you can even light the wood-burning fire for extra ambience.

We Are Twilight

Take in the sea glimpses from this home's private, spacious balcony – there's room to relax and dine here. The interiors are light and roomy, too, but we're not sure you'll be spending much time indoors when there's a large shared garden and swimming pool on offer. On top of this, the resort of Portimão, with its shops, restaurants and bars, is a short stroll away, as is the lovely sandy beach, Praia do Amado. Or, history lovers can hop in the car and visit the nearby Roman ruins of Quinta da Abicada.
