Walk into town in twenty-five minutes or drive in five to get to the centre of Lagos, where you’ll find a healthy balance of tranquillity and bustling vibrancy. The walled town is steeped in history and has plenty on offer to keep you busy. Still, we really wouldn’t blame you if you never left Cubic Living. After all, the high-end furnishings, appliances and amenities create a most luxurious home that is sure to make your vacation magical.

There’s no need for a car at this contemporary apartment, just a twenty-minute stroll from Lagos town centre. You’ll be within walking distance of an array of restaurants and bars, as well as a trio of sandy beaches. Located on a quiet complex, you can use the shared swimming pool here (although inflatables and jumping into the water aren’t allowed so that might be a deal-breaker if you’ve got kids). The home boasts direct access to the pool area, a sociable open-plan living space, and a private terrace overlooking the pool and gardens. If the pool rules don’t bother you, we think this home is a great choice for a hassle-free holiday with family or friends.

We love the generosity of this home when it comes to space to spread out as a family – it’s a sociable space, but with two living areas, there’s space for the adults to gather and enjoy quiet conversation over a bottle of wine, and a separate space for your little ones to kick back on their own comfy sofas and make the most of their games console. A sleek kitchen provides everything you need to rustle up a delicious dinner if you fancy an evening at home, and still allows you to peek out at the ocean. 

If you’re not out exploring Lagos and its welcoming beaches where water sports are a must, you can while away the hours easily in this home. Gain some respite from the Portuguese heat and sink into your private pool, swim a few lengths and you’ll soon feel re-energised. If you’d rather relax, you can hop into your hot tub and feel wrapped in the warmth of the bubbles, or head up to the rooftop terrace, settle down on a sun lounger and enjoy your holiday read. The only thing likely to distract you is the vast blue ocean stretching out before you – but, what a lovely distraction to have.

This contemporary villa is all about the location for us. Keen to explore on foot? Lagos town is a pleasant fifteen-minute stroll away and Porto de Mós beach is reachable in twenty minutes. That said, the local bus service makes hopping around the area a breeze, and if you do hire a car, further afield you’ll find a whole host of golf courses and water parks. After a busy day, back at the villa sun-drenched terraces and a private pool await, ready for you to finish the day relaxed, with a drink in hand.

A classic example of Portuguese architecture, the whitewashed home features terracotta tiles, shuttered windows and bright interiors. Outside, a vast private pool invites you to spend your days dipping in and out – and with a heated setting, you can keep swimming even when the sun goes down.

As far as the eye can see, luscious greenery and gently undulating landscape surround you. From the upstairs terrace, you can even glimpse a strip of sea in the distance. Hop in the car and arrive at the sparkling coastline in just twelve minutes, where impossibly turquoise waters and jagged cliffs await. Come evening, head into Lagos for a traditional seafood meal and a sampling of the local wine.

Splashes of colour throughout the apartment add vibrancy to every room – our favourite is the deep shades of blue in the living room. Relax on the balcony in the mornings with a toasty cup of coffee while tucking into a homecooked breakfast made with produce bought from the local Santo Amaro markets.

With just a short walk, you'll find yourself in the centre of Lagos with a wide variety of shops to browse. Treat yourself to a delicious slice of cake at one of the many central cafés, followed by a trip to the beach. Make sure you bring a bucket and spade if you're with children, so you can spend the afternoon building sandcastles under the sun.

Dine at Batata Beach Bar for some coastal delicacies and return home to unwind after a day of adventuring. Head up to the rooftop pool to sit on a sun lounger with a sumptuous glass of red while watching the sunset. We recommend going for a late-night swim under the stars, the perfect way to relax while making some amazing new memories.
