The Viola is a love letter to purple. We find the colour in all shapes and sizes from chairs to tablecloths, violet to lilac in this home. There’s even a purple Arne Jacobsen Swain chair, which is not something we see every day. This three-bedroom home’s got oodles of character and it’s in a great location, too. And we especially love how The Viola isn’t afraid of bright colour or mixing and matching playful elements with Danish design classics.

From the exposed brick wall to the typically-soaped wooden floor, the bioethanol fireplace to the gigantic hanging lightbulb, this place manages to effortlessly pull off a great industrial-chic look. Opening the French doors from the bedroom to the balcony, you get a real sense of space and plenty of natural light. If you feel like venturing out, it takes less than twenty minutes to reach the city centre. In true Copenhagen fashion, the bathroom is very small – it's not the kind of place you can relax and unwind after a long day.

Diagonals might not be the cosiest of flats we have ever seen, but it has a few unique features that we really like. The sloped ceilings create a warm atmosphere, and the orange shag rugs are a lot of fun and add some spice to this minimalist home. And let’s not forget about the incredible location. You’re right in the heart of Copenhagen’s Latin Quarter, so you’ve got plenty of homely cafés around - and you’re close to Strøget too.

Set in a renovated home that dates back to 1880 and opens up to a beautiful garden, Lykke (meaning happiness in Danish) is all we want from a Copenhagen home. Bright and luminous, it sets the scene for a wonderful holiday with the family. The immediate neighbourhood has a distinct character (it’s on the quiet side), but it’s filled with beautiful buildings and swanky villas. We love the delicate combination of colours, Danish design icons (Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton), and the eye-catching posters from the host’s own company.

It’s both playful and creative in the way it blends colour and its architectural solutions, making this a truly unique sanctuary in the middle of the city. We also love how the master bedroom feels a little like the hideouts we dreamt of when we were kids – because who said the little ones get to have all the fun? It has high ceilings and unbelievable stucco (straight out of a fairytale castle), and yet it feels very twenty-first-century Copenhagen. The fact that it’s a family home is evident in every corner (we noticed quite a few pen scribbles on the walls, original artworks courtesy of the three children). With its green parks and wide boulevards, Frederiksberg is great for families. Frederiksberg Gardens are very close, and Copenhagen Zoo is just a twenty-minute walk away.

Located in a quiet corner of Indre By but just a five-minute walk from the 17th century Nyhavn waterfront, this bright and welcoming apartment puts you right in the heart of Copenhagen’s action. We love the homey comforts on offer here, from the sheepskin throws to the inviting Scandi and vintage furnishings and the large windows proferring fourth-floor views over the city’s rooftops. Our favourite spot is the private balcony with its views of Christiansborg’s spire. Sit here with your morning coffee while soaking up the fresh air or gather at the elegant dining table with the French doors open to enjoy the warmth and cosiness of your home. With plenty of curios decking the shelves, original artwork, a record player to serenade your evenings and a beautiful antique bureau on which to catch up on work, you’re all set for a relaxing time here, whether for business or pleasure. Factor in the luxurious Hästens bed for a dreamy night’s sleep and you may never leave your comfortable home. Frederiksberg isn't the centre of Copenhagen, but it's a posh neighbourhood with plenty of upscale restaurants and quiet streets.

Split across two levels with a wooden ladder connecting the two, this two-bedroom home is ideal for younger travellers looking to be right in the centre of Copenhagen. Even though it lacks in entertainment options, you’ll not have to worry about finding things to do because The Conrad is situated in a repurposed office building on top of Strøget, Copenhagen’s busiest shopping street.

A bright and contemporary apartment set in a historic shell, this Copenhagen apartment is a coffee lover's dream come true. Equipped with its own coffee shop-style nook – perfect for morning breakfasts and afternoon pit stops. We love the white-painted wooden beams, exposed brickwork and sloped ceilings, stylishly paired with colourful touches and comfy textures. When you're not sprawled across the large "L" shaped sofa, take in dreamy views over the Copenhagen rooftops, which are well worth climbing up five floors of stairs for. 

And with an endless array of shopping possibilities in the local area, walk out to discover the sought-after locale, which also includes fabulous cafes and restaurants (and a wide range of bars and nightclubs in the Meatpacking District) to check out. Or why not go for a swim at Copenhagen harbour? Yes, you heard that correctly. Copenhagen boasts a uniquely clean harbour which allows locals and tourists alike to enjoy a spot of wild swimming just a kilometre away. When you're keen to venture further afield, you'll find Central Station approximately a fifteen-minute walk away.

It’s evident that this three-bedroom home is designed with a lot of love and personality. We especially love the stylishly curated picture wall in the living room that perfectly balances colour and shape. The location is a hipster’s paradise with Kødbyen just down the road, and independent eateries, design boutiques and cool coffee shops aplenty!

There’s just something special about Everland. The perfect family home, it feels a little like an oasis in the heart of Frederiksberg, which is also one of Copenhagen’s more quiet neighbourhoods. Erland and Eve are wonderful hosts, and it’s clear to see that their home is filled with love. Every detail tells a story and invites you to spend some quality time with your loved ones. We love the semi-private garden (it’s shared between all residents), it’s the perfect place to unwind with a barbecue and some great conversations.

Don’t let the graffiti on the front door scare you off, The Green Market is a little haven in young and trendy Nørrebro. Located on the fifth floor, it’s got a loft-like atmosphere with plenty of green plants, vintage furniture and fun artworks. We also love the exposed wooden beams that add a charming touch to this little home. Since it is a studio apartment, it’s especially great for young couples or travellers looking to be in the epicentre of all things cool. It could feel a little cramped – but for what it lacks in size, it makes up for with its charismatic atmosphere.

It’s evident that Mikkel loves reading. Books are hiding in every corner of his home, manifesting his personality in the feel and look of the home. We love this home’s retro feel, the most outstanding features being the collection of classic Danish design furniture. Mikkel is an analogue kind of guy, so there’s no TV in his home. But why not use that as an opportunity to take advantage of all the things to do in his home (large vinyl collection and record player, books, fully equipped kitchen), as well as bustling Nørrebro, an oasis for artsy, creative types.

Under the Sea is a happy family home. Many of the building’s original 1811 features are intact – we especially love the 200 years old wooden floor that oozes character. With plenty of colourful inputs (pillows, artwork, furniture) that pairs well with the homely atmosphere, it feels like a little family oasis close to Kongens Have. Due to the sleeping arrangements, we recommend that two out of the six guests are children (there’s a cot in bedroom one and junior size bed in bedroom two).

Under the Sea

Nestled in between calm Frederiksberg and fashionable Vesterbro, we find International Orange. Brimming with plenty of design treasures from the 1960s and 1970s (we love the Wassily Chair), it’s one for the interior design aficionados. The warm colour palette is eye-catching, and there are lots of striking art pieces and sculptures too. Well-suited for a family due to the sleeping arrangements, it’s also in a wonderful location, just moments from Værnedamsvej, one of Copenhagen’s most cherished streets.

Located in the back building of a courtyard close to vibrant Nyhavn, this unique apartment channels old Copenhagen in a light-hearted way. We love this place – it's quirky, quiet, and crooked (it's in a typical timber-framed building with brick walls and low ceilings). Your host, Mikkel, is a music-lover, so there's an abundance of instruments, sound equipment and a huge record collection, as well as cool design classics by Hans J. Wegner – one of Denmark's most creative furniture designers. We also couldn't take our eyes off the lion foot bathtub, elegantly paired with a surfboard for a playful touch – though the tub is for decoration purposes only. Step out into Copenhagen's charming streets, and you'll find yourself just a few hundred metres from the colourful waterside bars and restaurants of Nyhavn. Stroll a few minutes further and you can browse the boutiques that line pedestrianised Strøget. Finally, head away from the centre, and the world-famous Little Mermaid statue is around twenty minutes' walk away. Alternatively, do as the locals do and cycle around the city to cut your journey times in half.

This penthouse apartment is located right on Strøget, the main pedestrian street in Copenhagen, making it ideal for visitors who want to explore the city on foot. Climb up to the top of the building and once you arrive, and you'll find a wonderfully light and welcoming space that's full of Scandi-style and designer furniture. The lovely kitchen and living space are great for socialising over some smørrebrødands and a glass of wine, and the gorgeous wooden floors and high windows add an extra level of charm. However, our favourite part of this home is the romantic little nook in the bay window where you can look out over the city's spires and rooftops. Back on ground level, you can stroll to Tivoli Gardens, the famous 19th Century amusement park, in less than ten minutes, while the iconic Nyhavn waterfront is a fifteen-minute walk away. 

The Olive Tree Loft

For design buffs, Candy Shop is like a treasure map – there are plenty of things hiding around every corner, waiting to be discovered. The townhouse dates back to 1735, so naturally, it’s brimming with history, which carefully blends with modern amenities and charming furniture. We especially love the pastels palette and the charismatic striped wallpaper that reminds us a little of the traditional Danish candy, bolsjer. Perfect for a family, this home places you right in the heart of Copenhagen – Strøget is nearby, and so is Kongens Have and Rosenborg Castle.

Small but brimming with character, this historic fourth-floor home has tonnes of charming details. We love the exposed wall timbers and creaky wooden floors. The nature of the building comes at a price – climbing up the uneven and low-ceilinged staircase isn’t for the faint-hearted. This is worth it for the silence the distance from the busy street creates, providing a super calm atmosphere, right in the centre of Copenhagen. Parallel to Strøget (the famous shopping street) and Gråbrødretorv, this home is bang in the action.

Forest Clearing oozes style and charm. Its little balcony with BBQ has lovely French doors which flood the kitchen with natural light. Crammed with entertainment, including a games console, HBO and Netflix streaming services and a sound system in the kitchen, it has plenty to keep you entertained during your stay. In true Copenhagen fashion, the bathroom is on the small side – it’s more like a wet room. It does have underfloor heating though, so at least it dries quickly!

With wooden floors, high ceilings and luminous windows, Union Jack is a typical Frederiksberg apartment. Located by Forum Station, you’re close to Sankt Jørgens Sø and some of the cosy cafés by the lakes. This three-bedroom home isn’t luxurious, but it comes with plenty of charm – we especially love the vintage pieces, nods to the host’s home country and the vibrant colour scheme.

Even though The Lana is largely minimalist, it’s got plenty of charm with intimate sloped ceilings, bursts of funky colour, and artsy decorations. The bright orange two-seater adds joie de vivre, and we also love the impressive collection of royal blue Arne Jacobsen Ant chairs. This one-bedroom home is right in the centre of Copenhagen, so if you’re looking to be bang in the middle of everything, The Lana could be the one for you.

On the third floor of a beautiful 1870s building, we find Opera Diva. It has expressive interiors with a mix of Scandinavian chic furniture and antique pieces that are paired with some of the host’s own illustrations. And it also comes with a bathtub, which is something we rarely see in Copenhagen. As as an added bonus, one of the most famous Danish opera singers lives next door – and even though she’s retired, you can still hear her practising her singing now and then.

Every room has a different character in this Vesterbro home. We love the glamorous Hollywood Regency-inspired materials in the living room that mixes well with an exquisite 1960s teak cupboard. Pink Parakeet is artistic to perfection – and it’s fun to see how trivial art mixes with artsy exhibition posters for a new and personal look. The bedrooms are largely bohemian in style, offering plants, colourful patterns, and cosy bedspreads aplenty.

Winsome is a one-bedroom home in trendy Vesterbro. It’s eco-friendly, and the efficient open-plan layout is typical of Copenhagen, especially when it comes to this part of the city. We love how the host’s personality shines through the chic original artworks, unique graphic prints, Danish design furniture, collectibles, green plants and the many, many books on art, philosophy and aesthetic. If you want to experience the authentic Vesterbro vibe, this gallery manager’s well-curated home is the place. 


Winsome

Located a short walk from buzzing Kødbyen, The Good Egg is a typical Copenhagen apartment with lots of charm. Even though it’s not the most unique home in our collection, it has a cool mix of vintage pieces and classic Danish design items. We especially love the superior king-size bed with crisp, high-quality linens, which is definitely not something we see every day in Copenhagen.

The Yellow Brick Road is truly the best of both worlds. Found by the lakes (one of our favourite spots to go for a walk), you’re within walking distance to Nørrebro’s arty, hipster scene, as well as Indre By, Copenhagen’s city centre. The building itself dates back to 1842, so expect lots of charming period features – we found the exposed brick wall particularly mesmerising. On top of all that, Jerrod is also a lovely host – excited to welcome you to his home, you can rest assured he’s thought of everything to make your stay perfect.

Brimming with natural light, Danish design furniture, as well as a lovely garden that invites you to spend time with your loved ones, Look At You is one of those homes you’ll never want to leave. It is a family home to perfection, and it has a modern, fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook up a feast. While there’s only one bathroom, we love that it has both a bathtub and a shower, a rarity in Copenhagen. Located in peaceful Frederiksberg, charming Værnedamsvej is close by, and so are the lakes, a popular spot to go for a walk.

Look At You

Scandinavian through and through, this home is a minimalist haven with brilliant technological features, such as the Philips lighting system. The high ceilings and gabled windows make the living area bright and airy, perfectly matching the modern interior. There’s also a rainfall shower and the whole flat benefits from floor heating, making it the perfect place to come back to after a long day exploring the Danish capital. Best of all, your host is delightful and will make sure you have a great visit.

Let’s start by saying something obvious from the outset – this Copenhagen penthouse is one of the most impressive apartments we’ve ever seen! Louise's eye for design, detail and hosting is extraordinary – she can even arrange for a private chef if that’s something you’re in the mood for. The home's interior is pure Scandinavian chic, with plenty of natural materials, sculptural light fittings and elegant furniture throughout. Through to the bedrooms and the neutral decor and blackout curtains making switching off at the end of the day an effortless experience. And if you thought that was the end of it, wait until you see the huge rooftop terrace – at over 2,500 sqft, it has to be one of the largest in the city. Its sheer size combined with views of the water, old Copenhagen, and the many modern buildings in Islands Brygge ensure that we can’t think of anywhere we’d rather be. And while it's true you won't be staying right in the heart of the city, we'd suggest hiring a bike so you can do as Copenhageners do. Truly extraordinary and one-of-a-kind, this home needs to be experienced at least once in your life.

It’s easy to tell that The Baker & The Photographer is a much-loved home. Flooded with natural light and unique details (we love Pernille’s own photography in the living room), it’s one of those homes that embody Copenhagen really well. Niels dabbles in baking, so you can also expect a fully equipped kitchen, with lots and lots of soul. Located in Islands Brygge, the immediate area isn’t central – but if you love great views and easy access to the world-famous harbour baths, this home could be for you.
