Head downstairs, and you'll find a vast three-dimensional, wall-mounted sculpture that sets the tone for the neighbourhood. Next, take a five-minute stroll to The Rail Park. Much like New York's High Line, it's an urban nature walk that winds between the skyscrapers. Come evening, those in the know flock to Spring Garden Street for its cool brewpubs and live music venues like Union Transfer, or head over to Underground Arts for music, comedy, poetry, and theatre performances. Elsewhere, vibrant 13th street is lined with lively bars and chic eats, while the area's art galleries show off eclectic works by local artists. With exceptional neighbourhood restaurants and vibrant LGBTQ+ nightlife right on your doorstep, and many of Philadelphia's headline attractions a short distance away, this accessible Midtown Village studio is set within a historic red-brick building that certainly stands out from the crowd.

Inside, its soaring ceilings and hardwood floors provide a pleasing contrast to the eye-catching modern art adorning the walls, while there are small nods to the building's industrial past dotted around. It's small, and there isn't a kitchen, but it's a fantastic base for exploring nonetheless.

Spend your days discovering the neighbourhood and unwinding in Rittenhouse Square. For Rocky fans, no trip to the city would be complete without making the pilgrimage to the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps for a chance to recreate that iconic shot from the movie. Afterwards, return home for a chance to freshen up before painting the town pink on a night out in the Gayborhood.

To say this place has kerb appeal is an understatement. A smart apartment in a recently converted office building, it dates from the late 1890s and features one of the most impressive facades in the city centre. Originally built for the Presbyterian Board of Publications, its sculptures and ornate decoration describe the story of this denomination. Step inside and you'll find the lobby is warm and welcoming, with high ceilings, a seating area and a fireplace. But it's been thoroughly modernised – with an emphasis on the modern. The apartment is so new it practically sparkles. Minimal and neat, its white walls and wood floors make for a calm feeling and its open layout makes it a sociable space for up to four guests. Just down the street from the unmistakable Philadelphia City Hall, you'll be right in the heart of things and just a short walk from most of the area's major attractions.

Whether you're visiting Philidelphia for work, to see friends and family, or simply to explore this vibrant city, this apartment is a great place to call home during your stay. With an excellent location and a range of excellent amenities, you're guaranteed to settle into city life in no time at all. 

Take the elevator up to your apartment, and you'll find a sleek space with a subtle and chic colour scheme. The comfy sofa invites you to kick back and get comfortable, while the kitchen is well-equipped for you to cook up your favourite home-cooked meals. Start your mornings with freshly-made coffee at the breakfast bar, and spend your evenings on the shared roof terrace overlooking the city – you might even make friends with your new neighbours. 

You're in the perfect position to immerse yourself in Philidelphia's rich history, with landmarks like Elfreth's Alley Museum and the Betsy Ross House just five minutes away on foot. Take a fifteen-minute stroll over to visit the Liberty Bell, stopping off at one of the Old City's independent cafés on your way, or treat yourself to some retail therapy at the local boutiques. And if you want to explore more of the city, then Spring Garden Station is only seven minutes away from your front door. 

Roaring Success

This building was once the site of a major manufacturer and there are certain industrial-chic aspects retained in the current apartment, such as the exposed whitewashed brickwork and the bare lightbulbs hanging artfully from a girder. The huge windows that line the walls feel similarly functional, in that they flood the space with natural light — the fact that they also give wonderful views of the Philadelphia skyline is an added bonus. Despite this direction with the interior design, the minimalist white kitchen and bathroom look completely brand new. We appreciated the mural on the bedroom wall by a local artist, which feels appropriate given the creative spirit of the surrounding Callowhill neighbourhood. Here, it's possible to catch concerts at Franklin Music Hall and Union Transfer, both around ten minutes' walk away, or you can take a wander along The Rail Park, which sits just across the street.

The Eagle Has Landed

A visit to Philadelphia means the chance to immerse yourself in history, architecture and fantastic culture – the food and drink scene alone is worth a weekend or two. This attractive apartment is just a nine-minute walk from Old City, the area known as America’s most historic square mile. Explore the area on foot, stopping to recharge with coffee or a pint in any of the bustling local spots – it’s easy to see which are on-trend. 

Maybe you’ll start your day with a jog along the banks of the Delaware River, stopping off on a pier to take in the views of New Jersey. After a refreshing shower back at the apartment, you’ll be ready to continue your tour of Philly. The Betsy Ross house is just seven minutes away on foot, and Independence Hall can be reached in seventeen minutes. The nearest subway station is less than ten minutes away from the apartment, so it’s easy to get around without a car. 

Round your day off with a beer on the roof terrace, and admire the way the sun sets amid the architecture of this fascinating city. Maybe tomorrow you’ll head out to see the Liberty Bell, or walk across the Benjamin Franklin Bridge to take in the amazing views.

Also known as the 'Loft District', the former industrial area is now lined with resorted factories, hip bars and indie coffee houses that attract a cool, artsy crowd. Mirroring the soulful, creative streets below, this industrial-chic loft space is the perfect base for those looking to explore the surrounding area. Filled with exposed beams, concrete rafters and oversized lightbulbs, this one is an interior designer's dream. Natural light pours in through the crittall windows framing the red brick buildings opposite, creating a sunny reading spot for a quiet moment's downtime. Sink into the mellow yellow chairs or sip a glass of wine at the sleek breakfast bar as you wait for dinner to cook – you'll find all of the mod-cons needed for a comfortable stay in this unique attic space, far removed from the excited crowds and Philly locale. With beautiful Rittenhouse Square and the conveniently located Walnut-Locust station nearby, plenty of trendy restaurants and lively bars right on your doorstep, and Philadelphia City Hall only a short stroll away. Experience all the vibrancy the area has to offer from this chic, colourful pad right in the heart of it. From its wood floors to the colourful modern art on the walls, there’s a feeling of laid-back, stylish comfort from the moment you walk through the door. We love the sleek kitchen's beautiful blue cabinetry and the inviting window-side sofa that lets you take in rooftop views while kicking back with your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. The two bedrooms, meanwhile, have been carefully curated with design and comfort in mind – we’re particularly fond of the city views here too. And then there’s the communal rooftop terrace. Head up there at sunset and take in panoramic vistas over Philly’s skyline before heading out to sample the local cuisine – a Philly cheesesteak is obviously in order. If you’re in town at the right time, Frankford Avenue’s galleries and studios open to the public on the first Friday of every month. Elsewhere, leafy Palmer Park is four minutes away on foot while historic Independence Hall is an eight-minute drive away.
