The Hazy Melody

With mountains on one side and the ocean on the other, this villa is as idyllic as the scenery that surrounds it. The whitewashed exterior has an art deco feel, with its geometric columns and grand portico. Set across two floors, this is lateral living at its finest. There are seven enormous bedrooms, each with an en suite and sliding glass doors that lead out onto the garden downstairs, or the wraparound balcony with ocean views upstairs. There’s plenty of room for everyone to relax in the open plan living area, complete with a wood panelled bar for whipping up cocktails come evening. The spacious kitchen is well stocked for cooking up big family meals, or fire up the barbecue and enjoy lunch alfresco on the balcony, with a gentle sea breeze. 

You are perfectly placed to explore Cape Town’s natural delights here. The house is on the edge of Table Mountain National Park, where you’ll find a myriad of hiking trails through breathtaking scenery. Drive eleven minutes to reach the hiking trail leading to the mountain itself, with its jaw dropping views. Drive four minutes and spend the day at Camps Bay Beach, with its white sands and promenade lined with restaurants and beach bars. There’s a lively nightlife scene here, when the beach bars turn into buzzy night clubs. If you’re here for relaxation, head home and draw a bubble bath before a sunset dinner in your private paradise.

The Twelve Apostles

Cute as a button, this cottage dates back to the Victorian era with bay windows, wooden shutters and a manicured garden. It’s within the town of Stellenbosch, in the heart of South Africa’s most famous wine-producing region – the Cape Winelands. For an exciting getaway in Cape Town, this brightly lit apartment is just the thing. Neutral tones sweep through the apartment, which is completely illuminated by the South African sun. It's tempting to have a lazy morning on this large terrace, sipping on coffee and enjoying the clear view of the mighty Table Mountain. Why not go see it up close? It's only a twenty-minute drive away. Hike to the top of the rugged mountain and take in the sweeping views of Cape Town. Or, if hiking's not your thing, Table Bay which lies at the mouth of the mountain is a beautiful stretch of white sand, backed by plenty of shops, restaurants, and of course, Table Mountain.

If you want to glide through the Indian Ocean, head over to the west side of Cape Town. Muizenberg is a thirty-minute drive away and a beautiful place to experience the warmer, more shallow Indian Ocean. 

However you spend the day, you'll love getting home to your modern oasis. Enjoy a drink on the terrace, watch the sun dip behind Table Mountain, and finish the day cosy in your luxurious bed. Or, explore Cape Town's famous nightlife – you're just a six-minute drive or sixteen-minute walk from Long Street, where you can party 'til the wee hours.
