This space is filled with gorgeous pieces and unique touches we love, not least the striking wood beams separating the room in the middle. On the other side, you’ll find a dining table where you’ll be able to enjoy communal feasts. Putting together delicious meals will be a breeze thanks to the well-equipped kitchen. After supper, kick off your shoes and relax on the plush sofas in the company of your loved ones. 

For a night of rest and blissful sleep head over to the luxurious bedrooms – before you retreat to the land of sweet dreams, enjoy an indulgent bath in one of the spa-like bathrooms. We love the lovely art which creates a pattern running through the whole apartment, and the bathrooms are no exception. 

When the morning finds you refreshed and ready for a day of city exploring, you’ll be happy to know that you’re in the best possible place from which to reach all the landmarks of this magical city. Lose yourself in the rich art collection at the Prado Museum situated a ten-minute walk away and make the most out of the fantastic range of restaurants and bars in your area.

And, if you're craving some green space, head to El Retiro Park for a picnic with views of the lake – it's a twenty-minute stroll from your front door.

This duplex apartment is an excellent option for a base in central Madrid. It’s filled with light and has all the amenities you might need during your city break. One of the beds is a mattress without a bed frame, and as it’s at mezzanine level above the living room it’s not entirely private. This room also doubles as a workspace for anyone needing to catch up on work. We love the location of this home, just a ten-minute walk from Atocha station and within easy reach of shops, restaurants, and many of Madrid’s best museums, including Museo Nacional del Prado.

Homes in Madrid often strike a careful balance between playful colours and minimalist features, and Pumpkin Flower is a great example of Madrileño chic. The natural light is great and the neighbourhood you'll be staying in, Lavapiès, is one of the hottest places to stay if you're into world cuisine and urban art. While the insides of this home are immaculate, the building itself could do with a fresh lick of paint, especially the hallway. If this isn't too much of a turn-off for you, Pumpkin Flower is a true find.

At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room and the main bedroom is located on the mezzanine level (with no door), but you’ll find all the essentials needed to make it your own. Despite being so close to main attractions and located among the most vibrant streets, it’s a space where you can relax. This apartment is classy, colourful, and comfortable. The host has taken it upon themself to create a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city, curating an eclectic look with antiques and flea-market finds. We love the living and dining room, complete with mid-century chairs and a chandelier to create an elegant glow for dinner parties. Another fabulous use of light comes from the shuttered windows to your private balcony. With three sets of rich, wooden folding doors, you can step out to the railings with a glass of tempranillo after supper to watch the city light up at nightfall. With decorative, gilded bed frames in the sumptuous bedrooms, you’ll even feel stylish while you sleep. Rest up well, because you’ve got some exploring to do the next morning – the three galleries of the Art Walk are all less than fifteen minutes away.

It can be difficult to find accommodation suited to larger groups in the heart of the city, but this smart apartment will tick all the boxes. With plenty of space and flexible sleeping options, this central home is the perfect place to spend some quality time with your guests between your sightseeing excursions. 

You'll love the spacious living area, with double-height ceilings and huge windows that flood the space with natural light. The bike sculptures and selection of houseplants add some quirkiness, while the open-plan layout is perfect for socialising. This fabulous three-bedroom apartment is stylishly decorated throughout and brimming with character. The open-plan living room has lovely high ceilings, beautiful period windows, and a bright and airy feel. The bedrooms might not be the largest bedrooms we've ever seen, but they all have a lovely, calming feel and do the job just fine. We also love all the original paintings  throughout the home - this host has style!

Just a ten-minute walk from Plaza Mayor, this stylish flat isn't messing about when it comes to location. Interesting museums, high-end shopping and many of Madrid's must-see landmarks are a quick stroll away – including Puerta del Sol, Parque de El Retiro and Palacio Real de Madrid, just to name a few. If you love trying new cuisine, you're in luck – this neighbourhood has an array of delectable restaurants and lively bars to while away the evenings in.

Or, if you're partial to homecooked meals, make your way back to this stylish flat and rustle up something tasty in the kitchen. It has everything you'll need – a large island, built-in appliances and plenty of counter space. The rest of the flat is impeccable, too – two glossy bathrooms (one decked out with bold palm leaf wallpaper, another en-suite) feature rainfall showers, the comfortable bedrooms are cosy and pared-back and the bright living area boats a squishy sofa and a lovely Juliet balcony that floods the room with light. We think you'll love calling this apartment home, whether you're in town for a few days or a few weeks.

It can be found in the colourful La Latina neighbourhood, and is within walking distance of all the major sights in the city while still giving you an authentic taste of Madrid. 
 
The apartment is bright and cool. Light pours in through the balcony doors, which open onto a charming outside space ideal for breakfast or for a late-afternoon tipple after a day seeing the sights. The balcony is like a theatre box from which to watch the bustling neighbourhood come to life each day – you’re in the heart of the city here. 

La Latina is a lively part of Madrid, full of chic restaurants and stylish boutiques. Street art adds a modern touch to the architecture – this is a cool part of town for sure. Finding a cosy corner for a glass of wine or a round of tapas is effortless – it’s the choosing that’s tricky. Luckily your hosts are passionate about the area so can give you their top tips. 

An eleven-minute walk will take you to Plaza Mayor, a bustling square lined with restaurants and cafes. We love a spot of people-watching on holiday so it’s a firm favourite of ours. You might like to wander over to the Royal Palace, which is built on the site of the old Alcazar fortress. It’s sixteen minutes on foot from the apartment. For an afternoon of fresh air, take a picnic to El Retiro Park. We like to stop by a market for fresh bread and Spanish cheese and meats. The park is twenty-seven minutes from the apartment. 

If exploring on foot is proving too tiring, you can zip around the city on the metro. The La Latina stop is just three minutes from your front door. This apartment is a haven in the middle of a vibrant and beautiful city – it makes for a wonderful home base, and has everything you need.
