With a fantastic address, just off the Paseo de la Castellana, this apartment has a wealth of attractions nearby. The upmarket districts of Salamanca, Chamberi and Justicia are all close, so you'll have plenty of fine restaurants, chic boutiques and art galleries to enjoy. With one of Madrid's main avenues on your doorstep, the slight downside is you will hear some street noise here, but it's easily fixed with some earplugs if you're a light sleeper. We have to say, we love the views over Plaza Villa de París from this home. The kitchen is well-equipped, so you can cook some homemade meals or let your host arrange a private chef to create some of your favourite tapas dishes.

This apartment is located in the Malasaña-Universidad barrio in Madrid. The neighbourhood is known for its mix of 18th-century architecture and contemporary street art. Looking directly out over Plaza de Chueca, Cuadro is in the middle of the action. The two balconies bring loads of natural light into the living room, and they have double glazing, which keeps out the majority of the noise (you might still get a bit though – such is the nature of the centre of Madrid). It would be nice to have some sort of view from the bedrooms, but having the windows facing internally does mean that they’re calmer than the living room, and in the long run, that’s more important.

If you’re after easy living in the heart of a cultural hotspot, this chic apartment is right for you. The building's located in Madrid’s charming and vibrant Justicia neighbourhood, albeit on a quiet street so you slip in and out of the urban hustle and bustle as and when you please.

Inside, the overarching impression is one of stylish simplicity. Muted grey walls and wooden floorings are a classy combination and work particularly well with the vintage framed artwork and modern furnishings. We're also impressed by the sleek finishes and generous amount of surface space in the minimalist kitchen — here, you can quite easily take a break from the city's restaurants for a night.

Take a glance out of the large windows in the living room and bedroom, and you're greeted with beautiful views across the city, which should inspire you to head and explore. El Retiro Park is only a fifteen-minute walk away, while there are also seven museums that can be reached in under fifteen minutes on foot. If you want to feel the wind in your hair as you get to know Madrid, there are also bikes for hire just outside the building.
