If you love shopping, you’ll be happy to know that this apartment is just a few metres from Gran Vía. Other attractions a short stroll away include the Plaza de España and the Royal Palace of Madrid. This home is perfect for couples, single travellers and business professionals seeking an exceptional location. After all that retail therapy or exploring, there’s a terrace here to relax on, or on not-so-warm days chill out in the sunroom. We love the light and bright open-plan living room overlooking the outdoor space too.

You'll find this home in the heart of Madrid, close to the Gran Vía, Plaza Mayor, and Puerta del Sol. It's ideal for those in search of a central base from which to explore the city, but keep in mind that some street noise should be expected here. The apartment provides an open living area and a large dining table suitable for group feasts. You'll also find three en-suite bathrooms which will help to speed mornings along, plus a sleek bathtub in the main bedroom. And while there's no room for seating out on the balcony, we still think it's a pleasant spot to perch and gather your thoughts before heading out into the hustle and bustle of the Spanish capital.

This is an elaborate home that impresses with the broad strokes as well as fine ones. An enviable structure with high ceilings and big windows is filled with custom-made furniture that leaves plenty of space to move around. We loved the use of space that puts desks, chairs and bold art pieces in unexpected places – against all odds, it works.

Tucked away in the heart of the La Latina neighbourhood, this contemporary home is an ideal base for friends or family on a Madrid getaway. Sure, as a party of five, one person will sleep on the sofa bed in the living room, but it’s a small price to pay for this home’s location. Sightseeing comes easily here – you’re a mere kilometre from the iconic Prado Museum, and with Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor within easy reach, shopping and sampling some authentic Spanish cuisine is a must.

You'll also have a communal rooftop terrace with sun loungers, a summer pool and magical views over the city skyline and the Royal Palace. Fitness buffs are in luck, too, as there is a fabulous on-site gym for guests to make the most of 365 days a year too. 

Expect just as much excitement from the apartment's interior, too, as chic and contemporary designs present a truly comfortable space to kick back in between exploring the sights of Madrid. Should you find yourself craving an authentic Madrid dining experience, why not make your way to the Madrid institution, Sobrino de Botín – it's just a four-minute walk away. If you're looking for a room with a view, spend an evening among the stars at The Secret Garden, or El Corte Inglés, and take in the stunning cityscape views from the rooftops.

We challenge you to find a prettier apartment overlooking the Royal Palace of Madrid. This place is a real showstopper, with twin Juliet balconies opening over Plaza de Oriente Gardens. Bold, bright and just downright beautiful, it's dripping in character thanks to ornate cornice, traditional shuttered windows and classical furnishing. A riot of elegant colours and patterns, it couldn't be further from modern minimalism if it tried.

Once you've arrived and stared out of the window for long enough to take it all in, choose between the two pretty bedrooms – one decorated in calming greens, the other in vibrant terracotta. There's a grand, open-plan living space to keep everything sociable, and a kitchen with everything you'll need for cooking at home. But we suspect you'll be eating out much of the time – it would be rude not to when surrounded by some of the best cafes and restaurants in the city. And with most of the major attractions on your doorstep too, you'll have plenty to see and do.

This home is a prime example of rustic elegance – we could tell that the host had a vision and pulled all the stops in order to achieve it. The harmony of wood and wicker not only looks good, but also creates a warm atmosphere, working in partnership with the well-stocked kitchen and the soothing bathrooms. The Wickers Elephant is only a few minutes away from Plaza Mayor, which means you'll be just around the corner from Marid's most famous sights.

Situated at the top of a building complex in one of Madrid's most vibrant areas, this charismatic loft is a unique way to experience the Spanish capital. Tailor-made for friends or family with a penchant for art and original design, it oozes character from every angle.

The entire home spreads across two floors, which exudes a cosy energy without being crowded. Major landmarks, such as the iconic Royal Palace, can be easily reached on foot. Embark on a day of sightseeing, fuelled by pit-stops at the authentic cafes and restaurants for fresh sangria and tasty paella. When the sun shines on the charming metropolis, there are an abundance of luscious parks to rest your legs.

If you'd prefer a low-key evening, you can rustle up some tapas in the kitchen and share food and conversation over the dining table. 


Artistic Heights

What this compact apartment lacks in size, it makes up for in style. Cool and contemporary, we think it works best for solo travellers, couples, and digital nomads – especially those keen to explore Madrid on foot. The living space has funky neon signs and industrial-chic accents. Though snug, the kitchen is well-suited to rustling up light bites – there's also a high-top table that can be used as a work-from-home space. The cherry on top is the location in La Latina. You'll find restaurants and tapas bars aplenty here, plus all the must-see landmarks like Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace are about a ten-minute walk away.

Neon & Lime

There are plenty of tourist attractions within walking distance of this home. Go for riverside walks at the Parque Madrid Rio nearby, or visit the zoo and amusement park at Casa de Campo. Other places of interest include the Royal Palace and La Almudena Cathedral. There are plenty of eateries to sample, too, or head back to this apartment and cook some tapas dishes. All in all, we'd say this home is ideal for a business professional, solo traveller or couple.

Madrid Daydream

In the heart of Madrid, just a few metres away from Plaza Mayor and within walking distance of Puerta del Sol, this city apartment couldn't be better located. Keep in mind that some noise should be expected here, but we think it's a small price to pay for this central spot. You'll find a great selection of restaurants on your doorstep if you'd like to sample the local cuisine, but if you'd prefer to dine in, the kitchen is well-equipped for homemade tapas.
