When it's time to head out, exploring Lyon comes easy here. In the 1st Arrondissement, close to the prestigious Lyon Museum of Fine Arts, you're in one of the liveliest parts of the city. Reaching the rest of the city is a breeze – you're just 100 metres away from the Hôtel de Ville metro stop. Come the evening, group dinners and drinks are perfectly enjoyable in your apartment, or you can head out to discover the famous gastronomical scene of Lyon. Afterwards, hit Rue St.Catherine for hip bars and clubs.

Located in Lyon’s bohemian Croix-Rousse neighbourhood – known for its houses that were former workshops – this beautiful apartment sits with the best of them, offering nothing but style and comfort. 

We love how the building’s history has been incorporated into its up-to-date design, with exposed brick walls, beamed ceilings and tiled floors lending a rustic yet elegant atelier feel to the proceedings. Huge windows allow plenty of light to pour in and bounce around the open-plan living area with its double-height ceilings, creating a bright and sociable space you’ll relish relaxing in. Make yourself at home on the plump sofa with a glass of wine or gather around the dining table for a French feast when you’re not out sampling the local restaurants. The three bedrooms, meanwhile, are pared-back spaces curated with rest and relaxation in mind, and we’re particularly fond of the main bedroom with its glass walls looking out over the living area below. With a desk space on hand too should you need to catch up on work, you’re all set for a carefree time whether you’re visiting for business or pleasure. 

Outside of your home, Croix-Rousse’s maze of leafy squares waits to be discovered, as does the area’s history of silk weaving best seen at the Mur des Canuts and the Maison des Canuts museum. Fresh produce is sold at the daily market on Boulevard de la Croix Rousse, and you’ll find trendy crowds delighting in gourmet patisseries, hip wine bars and art galleries all around your neighbourhood too.

Close to some of Lyon's best museums, this modern home is the perfect base for a couple, solo traveller or even a small family. Set in a new, well-equipped building in the heart of the Monplaisir district, it's the easy option if you want to unpack and start exploring. The big windows mean it's a bright and cheerful space, with contemporary furnishings and a striking Lyon city skyline mural on one wall. The open layout of the living area makes it a sociable place to cook, eat or relax, while the bedroom is quiet and comfortable. Head out the door and you'll find the main shopping district of Lyon, and it couldn't get more convenient, with a mini-market in front of the apartment. There are easy public transport links and it's just steps from the Lumière Museum, in the former home of the inventors of cinema.

Blue may be the colour but it certainly doesn't describe the feeling in this cheerful little home in Lyon's 7th arrondissement. An intimate space for a couple or a solo traveller, it's set in a typical period building with rooftop views all the way to some of the city's most iconic sights. It's not huge, but it's a well-designed home with character and charm. We love the typical French Juliet balconies to either side of the living room and in the bedroom – perfect for opening the whole place up for some fresh air in the summer. There are some quirky touches in the bedroom, with green palm trees breaking up the blue. And the bathroom (you guessed, it's blue) is modern and luxurious. Step outside and you're right in the city's most commercial district, with bars, shops and restaurants all around. Particularly well-placed if you feel like exploring by bike, it's close to the Rhône and its quays.

Situated in Lyon’s Villeurbanne suburb, this curated apartment feels just like home for all travelling types. Inside, it’s full of soothing colours from the delicate green in the living area to the buttery gold tones of the bedroom. Spend your mornings reclining on the contemporary sofa with a double espresso before gathering around the dining table for a selection of French delights picked up from the nearby boulangerie. 

If you’re visiting on business, the office space makes remote working a breeze. But if you’re here for pleasure, jump on the metro at Charpennes Charles Hernu and whizz into the heart of the city.
