This cosy bungalow on Cornwall's northern coast is the perfect base for exploring as much or as little of this remarkable region as you please. Beautiful beaches, dramatic cliffs and stunning sunsets all await you in this charming county. Idyllic locations such as Padstow and St Ives can be reached in less than an hour, and the famed Eden Project is just a forty-five minute drive away.
 
On the other hand, Holywell Bay has one of the most beautiful beaches in the county. You’ll be pleased to know it's only a five-minute walk from your door, where alongside stunning scenery, you’ll find a gorgeous coastal path, and a handful of charming beachside cafes and eateries. Refuel on local produce at the Gull Rocks Bar & Coffee House at the beach’s entrance after an afternoon spent splashing about, and take in the stunning vistas afforded by its prime location. The Treguth Inn, hailing back to the thirteenth century also awaits just five minutes away, while several more traditional pubs and desirable restaurants can be found within a fifteen-minute drive. The choice is all yours. 

A short twenty-minute drive away is the Gannel Estuary, which separates neighbouring Crantock village from Newquay. Have a go at canoeing in the estuary, or try your hand at paddle-boarding over in Crantock. On quieter days, why not go for fish and chips followed by some ice cream in idyllic fishing villages such as Mevagissey, Mousehole or Gorran Haven, all within an hour's drive? Whatever you choose to do, you won't be short of fun.
  
Of course, such is the high-quality amenities, you don't even need to leave the house. An open living area is blessed with natural light and plenty of space, perfect for social evenings. Chill on the sofas, sit with a glass of beer on the kitchen bar or take to the circular table for dinner. Tucked away on a quiet lane in Cubert, a small village on the North Coast of Cornwall, this cottage is just the place to recharge your batteries. Once a piggery and hay barn, many of the original features are still inside, from the vaulted timber beam ceilings to the exposed stonework. But old-world charm is not all that's on offer – with underfloor heating, rainfall showers and a sleek high-spec kitchen, creature comforts abound. Our favourite spot has to be the balcony, where you can enjoy a morning coffee or an evening sundowner whilst admiring the sweeping countryside views. The garden is the perfect spot to bask in the sunshine – sprawl out on the lounge chairs with a good book or fire up the grill and tuck into an alfresco meal in the fresh air. Best of all is the location. Stroll through the green orchards towards the village, home to a beloved 16th-century pub and a few coffee shops. When you're in the mood for a beach day, hop in the car and drive five minutes to Holywell Bay, a haven for exceptional surfing, sandy beaches and excellent restaurants.

There are lots of things that impressed us about this cute cottage close to the North Cornish coastline. First off, there's a lot of room inside considering it's only for two people, with the modern corner kitchen particularly large — and well-equipped for that matter. This generosity with space will have contributed towards the M2 Accessibility Rating it received from Visit England, which marks the single-level property out as suitable for guests with reduced mobility and part-time wheelchair users. What's more, there's a private sandstone patio complete with alfresco seating and a hot tub from which to enjoy summer evening sunsets. If you prefer to watch this while sitting on the sand with the sound of the waves lapping nearby, Perranporth Beach is less than ten minutes' drive. Similarly, the towns of Truro and Newquay only take a quarter of an hour to reach by car.

Just over a mile from the village of Stithians, down by the River Kennall, this stone cottage is set in the 7-acre land surrounding an old farmhouse. But despite its incredibly rural setting, staying here is far from the rustic experience you might expect. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
