This Grade II Listed cottage has a fantastic location right in the centre of Wells-next-the-Sea. Do some beachcombing on Wells-next-the-Sea Beach (around twenty minutes on foot). Then, afterwards, have a stroll along the Quay, a one-minute walk away, and enjoy some fish and chips or pick up some catch of the day from the pretty harbour. There are plenty of local pubs and restaurants, as well as a delicatessen, butchers and fishmonger within a five-minute stroll. Take some local produce back to this lovely home, prepare a meal in the modern kitchen, and then savour it at the table in the sunny courtyard. Or when the weather turns chilly, light the log burning stove (your lovely host provides a starter pack of logs in the colder months) and relax with a glass of wine on the sofa. This stylish cottage is everything you would want from a seaside retreat – we love the original features, such as the old beams, which blend beautifully with the chic furnishings. With so much out and about, too, you’ll probably need to book again to fit it all in.

What a prime location this stylish cottage has – it's right in the centre of Wells-next-the-Sea. You'll find a mix of pubs, cafes, restaurants and independent shops to browse right on your doorstep. Or head to Holkham Beach (just over a twelve-minute drive away), where you may see the Household Cavalry riding their horses across the sands. It's just a twenty-minute stroll to Wells-next-the-Sea, too, with its pretty beach huts. After exploring all this town and the Norfolk coast offers, relax by the wood-burning stove (a starter pack of logs is provided in the colder months) or enjoy a coffee in the cute courtyard on warm days. Your lovely host has done a fantastic job sympathetically updating this place whilst retaining its original charm. When you're ready for a bit of rest, climb the traditional Norfolk winder stairs to the characterful and comfy bedrooms, before starting another exciting day of Norfolk adventures. This home is perfect for families, couples and friends who want to enjoy the great outdoors all year round.

Plus, the private garden is a wonderful sun trap, with views across unspoilt countryside and a bench where you can enjoy your first coffee of the day. 

It’s a leisurely fifteen-minute walk into town, where you’ll find an assortment of places to eat and shop, and a twenty-five-minute stroll across the fields to Wells-next-the-Sea Beach. For days out, the stunning Holkham Hall estate is less than a ten-minute drive away, and the popular seaside towns of Sheringham and Cromer are reached in less than forty-five minutes.

Five minutes by foot and you'll be quayside, roaming the independent cafes and shops. Rather, just a five-minute drive away lies Holkham beach, famed for its stunning sands.

This palatial home set slap bang in the middle of vibrant Wells-next-the-Sea delivers on size, location and style. Perfect for a multi-generational family holiday by the sea, there’s no drawing the short straw here. Each of the eight bedrooms, with a private bathroom, is as light-filled as the next. Although slightly overlooked by neighbouring homes, the suntrap terrace is a nice touch for evening drinks. As is the sunroom bar if the weather doesn’t behave. Location-wise, you’re just one mile from the beach, and wander-worthy Staithe Street, brimming with cafes and shops, is just around the corner.

This cute bolthole, just a mile away from the beach at Wells, exudes modern day style and sophistication. Cosy yet contemporary, it's laced with an air of tranquility and impresses with an elegant design.

The kitchen presents exactly what you'd want – high-quality fittings, a sociable layout and shaped by the dining table. Keep the cook company as they rustle up some homemade food, then settle down to enjoy each bite at the table, complemented by a smooth glass of red wine. 

Next door to the kitchen, you'll find a snug living room that perfectly blends traditional and contemporary styles. Think light, wooden flooring and a rustic TV stand next to deluxe sofa and unique artwork. 

Leading out from the living room, you'll find the highlight of the home – the cute garden terrace. Wooden decking supports a cosy, white table tucked under a red umbrella – the perfect setting for a cold drink on a glorious summer afternoon. It's also a nice spot to sit in the mornings with a cup of coffee and a croissant.

Of course, when the temperatures soar, you'll want to head to the beach. Spend lazy days sunbathing on the golden sands, taking breaks in the water to cool off. If you're feeling peckish, there are various pubs and restaurants scattered along the coastline. 


 

Goody Two Shoes

Originally an inn, this cottage is one of the first buildings erected in the 15th-century town of Wells-next-the-sea. Now it welcomes large groups to enjoy a modern interior and a large south-facing garden.  Spot the views over the conservation area, thanks to its elevated position. The space is cosy, though it's worth noting that one of the bedrooms is without a door, so it might not feel the most private. Still, it is minutes away from the harbour and a fifteen-minute walk from Well's Beach. You're also in one of the UK's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which you can explore more by car.

This Georgian townhouse is located in the centre of Wells-next-the-Sea on the North Norfolk coastline. Just a two-minute walk to the harbour and a twenty-minute walk to the beach, it's a perfect spot for exploring. Featuring an original walled garden area alongside a patio terrace, guests can enjoy alfresco dining in the sun. And with one bathroom per bedroom, the whole group gets their own piece of privacy, plus impressive views across the coast from Holkham to Stiffkey from the bedrooms. The rest of the home presents a sociable setup as you'll find a games room, basement cinema room, formal dining area and plenty of lounge seating.

Boasting a privileged position at the heart of Wells-next-the-Sea, this picturesque home overlooking the town’s quay is a treat for all seasons. With the North Norfolk coast on your doorstep and a plethora of fun treats waiting to be enjoyed at home, there’s no end to the adventures in store. 

No stone has been left unturned in the careful curation of this home, with its welcoming open-plan living area beckoning board games by the fireside and the sun room offering a slice of relaxation whatever the weather. Open the doors here to step out into the large private garden – the perfect spot for family picnics and lawn games – or head out to the front of the home where you’ll find a raised seating area with picture-perfect views of the boats coming in and out of quay. 

Our favourite spot, however, has to be the main bedroom’s terrace. Accessed via a hatched window, you’ve got uninterrupted views of the water that you can enjoy over morning coffees as the sun dazzles over the stunning scenery, or with a nightcap as the stars twinkle above you. 

When you’re ready to venture out for some sightseeing, you’ll find plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes just minutes away, including along the quayside (a two-minute walk) which has a plethora of ice cream shops and arcades. You’re also a twenty-five-minute walk from the beach, while Holkham Hall and Holkham National Nature Reserve are both just a couple of miles away.
