Northumbrian Nook

A truly stunning rural retreat, this home is sat on a hill overlooking the beautiful South Tyne Valley – just five minutes from Hadrian's Wall. Away from it all, yet within walking distance of the village pub, this place really has to be one of our favourites in this neck of the woods. A converted farm worker's cottage, it's been lovingly updated to create a modern and comfortable stay. As soon as you walk in, you're welcomed by a warm and classically furnished home, with every little detail already thought of. There's an impressive stone fireplace in the open-plan living room, fitted with a log burner for cosy evenings in, no matter the weather outside. On sunny days, open the French doors to the pretty garden and sit outside on the terrace – the sunsets here are amazing. Keen cooks will love the high-spec kitchen, which flows easily into the dining area and living room so everyone can socialise. Each bedroom has a bathroom and we love the master bedroom's view and its lovely freestanding bath. Here you'll be in prime walking country, with hikes from your doorstep. And it's just a ten-minute drive to the market town of Hexham.

Wonder Wall

This historic, yet recently refurbished cottage is nestled in the delightful village of Newbrough in the heart of Northumberland. The cottage has been lovingly renovated and redecorated to a high standard and features everything you could need for the most relaxing of holidays, including a number of modern features. Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, North Cottage is perfect for family getaways or a staycation with friends. Discover a rustic retreat where tranquility awaits amidst lush whispering woods. Immerse yourself in the serene sanctuary of this charming oasis that exudes vintage charm. Step into the idyllic haven and unwind in the cozy haven where nature's embrace creates a blissful abode. The Five Eyes

Immerse yourself in nature with a stay in this classic country cottage, surrounded by lush green fields and picturesque lakes in Belsay, Northumberland. 

As soon as you step inside, you can feel this home wrap you up in its warmth. Cosy furnishings coupled with traditional features such as exposed wooden beams make this a true home-away-from-home. We love the farmhouse-style galley kitchen, perfect for rusting up a traditional English breakfast to put fuel in your belly before embarking on an adventure outdoors. Suitably nourished, pull on your wellies and take a quiet stroll down the leafy lane to your private lake with your four-legged friend at your heel – with walks aplenty in the surrounding area, this is definitely a holiday your dog doesn’t want to miss out on. With the quiet of nature surrounding you and the birds chirping happily in the trees, you’ll struggle to find a more peaceful spot. 

After a few exhilarating hours exploring the local area on foot, return home and in winter months, light the log burner and warm your tired feet in front of the fire. Pour yourself a glass of red, and it’s the perfect way to unwind. This charming country home will have you relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated in no time. 

Casting Stones

Go north to the village of Bellingham, an hour away from Newcastle, and that’s where you’ll find this beautiful, cosy cottage. With a charming colour palette of blue, pink and brown, and natural elements of wood and brick, the aesthetic here is enough to make you want to stay forever. Now imagine an alfresco breakfast at the picnic table outside, followed by a strong coffee whilst you snuggle into the corner sofa with a good book. Imagine games of poker around the dining table – loser cooks dinner  – or a glass of prosecco and a bubble bath. 
 
When you’re not relaxing indoors, do it outdoors by unwinding with a game of golf at the Bellingham Club, or a hike on the Hareshaw Iron Works Trail. There’s a shop nearby where you can stock up on supplies, as well as a number of cafes.

Perfectly tailored for two people looking to break away from it all, this standalone timber lodge places luxury and comfort at its heart. It invites guests to immerse themselves into coziness, catering to every whim within its elegantly designed living area, fully-equipped kitchen, dining portion and snug bedroom. The attached shower room has a tranquil aura that invigorates any weary individual. A fenced, aromatic bark-dusted expanse adjoins the frontal facade of the lodge, further adding to the charm.

Alnwick Haven

Within an hours' drive of Edinburgh, this countryside cottage in the Scottish Borders town of Greenlaw enjoys the best of both worlds. While you have the option to head to the city for the day, you can also stay put, enjoying moorland views and hill walks — Berwick-upon-Tweed and its coastline is only half an hour's drive away, too. The recently refurbished interior is a lovely place to return to after time spent out in the elements, with comfy furnishings positioned around the log burner sure to have you feeling warm and toasty again. Failing that, a long soak in the bathtub will do the trick. When the weather is favourable, you can take full advantage of the home's front garden surrounded by a stone wall, which has a pretty view of Scottish hillsides and a barbecue for those bursts of balmy weather.

Indoors, the characterful rooms are full of authentic features, including a log fire and flagstone flooring. Rothbury awaits 6 miles away, well known for its bakery and charming high-street amenities.
