This is a home steeped in history. Built in the early 1800s, it was a bank for over 100 years, before becoming an art gallery in the 2010s. The apartment has been beautifully converted to retain its original features which give it so much character. Enjoy your morning coffee while admiring the far-reaching views through the tall, arched windows or curl up with a book on the cosy velvet sofa. It’s also a great home to entertain in, with the large marble dining table taking prime position in the open-plan living space. And of course, the location is fantastic too – within easy reach of Saltburn's shops, great fish restaurants, and beaches of the North Yorkshire coast.

You'll be less than a five-minute walk from the glorious sands of Saltburn Beach at this home on the North Yorkshire coast, meaning it's ideally located for surf lessons, coastal walks, and hiking the Cleveland Way. It's also under twenty minutes on foot from the historic town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, best known for its pier and charming tramway – it’s one of the oldest operating water-balance cliff lifts. When you're not trying the town's excellent bars and restaurants, make the most of the modern kitchen, perhaps taking your meal down to the garden for an alfresco dinner. The comfortable outdoor seating is also perfect for relaxing in the evening, watching the sun go down with a drink or two. Or simply take in the views over the beach, North Sea and Huntcliff from the sunroom – we think the vistas here are wonderful.

Draw the curtains to let the light stream in and spend a lazy morning in bed with coffee and a crossword puzzle before finally dragging yourselves out of bed and into the kitchen for breakfast. Head out from there on a romantic walk through town and toward the promenade. 

There are also plenty of hiking options or walks through the maze of The Valley Gardens. If you’re not walking – arm in arm is best – then you can always hop in the car for a road trip with an epic playlist. After a meal at a romantic restaurant, snuggle on the coach with the fire crackling in the wood-burning stove, and just appreciate the space, the moment, and each other.

This charming apartment is ideal for romantic getaways, and equally well suited to solo stays by the sea. We love the traditional beams and cosy, homey vibe. You’ll feel at home the instant you arrive at this stylish abode. Best of all, the apartment boasts sea views. Wake up each morning to see the sea rushing ashore. Step out onto the balcony to sip your morning coffee, and breathe in the sea air. The blue-tiled kitchen is a lovely spot for your meals, whether you’ve whipped up a cooked breakfast or are unwrapping fish and chips for your evening meal. 

It’s just a short walk down to the beach, where you can build sandcastles, skim stones, or even try out the surf. Saltburn is also home to the UK’s oldest functioning cliff lift – enjoy the ride down to the promenade.
