Recently refurbished, there's a bit of a natural connection going on in the interior design of this home in the village of Stamford Bridge. As well as house plants dotted liberally about the place — often in unique pots — we spotted an array of woven furnishings and artwork dedicated to the great outdoors. We should also mention the actual outdoors space at this point, too. Step out the back door and you'll find a patio with alfresco seating and a barbecue, which will both come into their own on summer evenings. This overarching theme feels apt given the beautiful countryside within easy reach of the property. If you fancy a day in town, however, the centre of York is only a twenty-five-minute drive.

For those who like to like to get out into nature, a ramble through the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is in order – it’ll take you around an hour to get there by car. Culture buffs should make the twenty-minute drive into historic York for its ancient Minster and medieval Shambles. Finish the afternoon with a well-earned gin and tonic beside the pretty River Ouse.

The prime location in North Yorkshire means that you won't be short of inspiration for days out. You can walk to Ripon Cathedral in just over a quarter of an hour, while the Nidderdale AONB can be reached in ten minutes by car for when you fancy a longer ramble.
