One of the funkiest former grain stores we ever did see, this little home is part of a farm in the countryside just outside Pwllheli. Lovingly converted with a great deal of flair and imagination, it's far from your usual holiday home. Upcycled furniture, industrial pieces and pops of colour mix with natural wood, leather and slate. The ground floor living space is cosy and quirky, with a log burner, beamed ceilings and an open staircase. Cook up family meals in the fully kitted-out kitchen and choose to eat indoors or out in the private garden. There's so much to love about this place, but we particularly like the wet room, with its rain shower, light tunnel and penguins hiding in the built-in shelves, and the pretty garden with its fun seating areas. With the owners just next door, make use of the gym, make friends with the farm animals and cook on the fire pit in the evenings. It's just a ten-minute drive into the town, with loads more to see and do nearby, from walking and horse riding to playing on the sandy beaches.

Set in a lovely position in the heart of the Llyn Peninsula, this Victorian stone cottage was once the gatehouse to the Grade II-listed manor house, Plas Boduan. Make your way through the grand estate gates and down the drive where you're sure to feel the history all around you. The cottage itself is a delightful blend of old and new, with a large, light extension complete with glass doors, a piano and a log burner sitting alongside original features like pretty leaded windows. Outdoors, there’s a charmingly wild garden, a sun-trap patio for morning coffees, and a hot tub for soaking your bones after long hikes in the Welsh countryside. Walkers are spoilt for choice with paths and lanes crisscrossing the surrounding countryside, and if you don’t mind hopping in the car, you’re a half-hour drive from some of the best walking terrain in the world in the form of Snowdonia National Park. Alternatively, head over to the long sandy beach at Morfa Nefyn, only seven minutes away in the car.

This townhouse apartment is ideal for families and friend groups looking for a peaceful coastal retreat. There's never a dull moment here, thanks to the board games for all ages, the pool table, and the hot tub out on the private terrace. Just so you know, the home is spread over three floors, so it may not suit those who struggle with stairs. Pwllheli Beach is an easy walk away, and the nearby town has restaurants, shops and pubs to enjoy.

What could be more romantic than a tiny cottage in the country? This pretty little home on the Llyn Peninsula is surprisingly modern thanks to its recent refurbishment. Comfortable and stylish, it's the perfect retreat for couples trying to get away from it all. Set in a secluded rural area, with great walking on your doorstep, it's about as far from the madding crowd as it gets. There's a lawned garden and little deck to enjoy the views from, and inside you'll find a log burner to warm up even the chilliest of evenings. The building retains character features like a vaulted ceiling, beams and a mezzanine level, but it's been smartly modernised to provide an open-plan living space with a fabulous kitchen and breakfast bar, as well as a cosy seating area with patio doors to bring the outside in. And our favourite part must be the en-suite bathroom with its contemporary bath and walk-in rain shower. Special touches like the robes, slippers and a welcome pack of goodies make this place a real treat. Less than a fifteen-minute drive to Pwllheli, and ten to Abersoch, there are loads of great beaches, village pubs and local shops to explore nearby.

Poised on a private estate on the outskirts of the seaside town of Pwllheli, this breathtaking barn conversion offers the ultimate relaxing getaway. Alternatively, head to Snowdonia National Park for an afternoon of hiking, twenty minutes away by car. After a day of exploring, come back home for a delicious meal – you can choose whether to cook up a feast in the wonderfully sleek kitchen replete with a boiling tap and an ice maker – not to mention its gorgeous Belfast sink – or fire up the barbecue for an alfresco treat. Then finish the night off by stargazing around the outdoor fire pit or snuggling up with a glass of wine by the living room’s wood-burning fire before heading upstairs for a wonderfully peaceful night’s sleep.

As we drove down the lane and saw the sea views appear, we knew we were in for a treat with this lovely home. Initially three fisherman's cottages, this place has been skillfully converted to create a fantastic family home.

We adore the sea vistas as well as the outlook over Porthdinllaen Beach, Nefyn's headland golf course, the boats in the harbour and Anglesey from the 2-acre garden and terrace, perfect for alfresco dining. You can enjoy the seascape from the vast windows inside too. Use the telescope to watch the boats on the ocean and the sea birds fishing, then whip up some seafood and laverbread in the large kitchen with its French doors opening to the garden.

If you fancy a day on the area's golden sands, bask in the sun on Porthdinllaen Beach, just over a ten-minute drive away, or head to the nearby Amgueddfa Forwrol Llŷn Maritime Museum.

Outside the address, the Wales Coast Path is on your doorstep, so you could visit a different beach every day if you so wished. Here, there's some of the best surf in Wales, great for beginners and seasoned surfers alike. History and intrigue are all around — the nearby village of Llangian can be reached in just over half an hour on foot and boasts a sixth-century church, while the spectacular Italianate village of Portmeirion (home of cult classic The Prisoner) is only a forty-five-minute drive away.

On a sunny day at this home on the Llŷn Peninsula, you’d be forgiven for thinking you were on a little island somewhere much closer to the equator. The garden blooms with tropical plant life – palm trees are dotted everywhere and the air is scented with fig leaf. Down below are the glimmering waters of the sea, and there’s no better place to admire the view than from the outdoor hot tub. 

Step inside and you will see that the house is a homage to Great British design. Make use of the high-spec appliances in the modern farmhouse-style kitchen for whipping home-cooked delights. These can be enjoyed in the dining room, or the spectacular conservatory – the showpiece of the house. With its glass exterior that frames the sea, it’s a breathtaking spot for sunny breakfasts and long, lazy lunches. 

The house is a quick walk to Machroes Beach, a long sandy expanse perfect for splashing around in the shallows or practising a wide range of watersports like sailing and windsurfing. Follow the coastal path which runs close to the house, for rambling walks through stunning scenery. Machroes Beach backs onto Abersoch golf course, where you can have a swing and a putt on their 18-hole course overlooking the ocean.

This home feels like a celebration of the sea and the great outdoors. First of all there’s that view from the garden out over the green of the LLyn Peninsula and to the denim-blue Cardigan Bay beyond. Make the most of days outdoors in the summer kitchen, perhaps prepping and grilling some freshly-caught fish for the nearby sea. Dining can take place by the blooming hydrangea on the lawn, or on the patio. 

From the wall of glass in the living room, you’ve got a view of the boats in the bay – get a closer look through the telescope. Or, spend your days curled up by the roaring fire with something from the library of holiday reads. The indoor kitchen will please any amateur chef with a range-style cooker and plenty of prep space. Perhaps dine to a tune from the upright piano in the dining room. Bedrooms embrace the seaside local with beach hut and seashell motifs.

You’re out in the peace and quiet of the countryside here. But if you do want to head into town for a meal out, fish and chips or to stock up on supplies, the coastal village of Abersoch is just a ten-minute drive away. 

What the Seagull Saw

Perfectly situated for exploring the stunning Llyn Peninsula and Snowdonia National Park – this lovely cottage has a great location. If you like gardening, there’s a garden centre, with a café within walking distance, while the Wales Coast Path and Abererch Beach are 2.4 miles away. You don’t have to go anywhere for stunning views – a bench at the front of the cottage lovers over Cardigan Bay or take a seat in the private patio area, have a slice of complimentary cake and admire the vistas over to Snowdonia. This stone-built cottage is semi-detached and some of the lawned areas are shared, so you may not have the place totally to yourself though.

Located in the spectacular Llŷn Peninsula, this cottage is the ideal bolthole for exploring the area's famed beaches, wildlife, and quaint towns. The home itself strikes a wonderful balance between contemporary and traditional, thoughtfully decorated with classic furniture and homely touches. 

We love this home's interior. It exudes warmth and comfort, with a country-style kitchen that'll delight any home chef. But really, our favourite bit of this charming home is the suntrap of a garden. Surrounded by lush greenery, with a sweet converted shed at the bottom of the garden. And to top it all off, your bubbling hot tub awaits – submerge into its warm, muscle-soothing waters after a day exploring the area's many cycling and hiking trails. When you're not tucking into barbecue dinners in the garden or relaxing in the hot tub, you'll be cosy on the plush sofa, sipping on a glass of red wine in front of the crackling fire, watching a film on Netflix.

The Little Shed


This lovely 18th-century blacksmith’s cottage makes for a wonderful holiday home. It’s in a quiet location on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula, so you’re guaranteed a serene break but you’re within easy reach of plenty of attractions. There are countless small towns and villages to explore nearby, and you’re right on the coast. It takes fifteen minutes to stroll along to Llanbedrog Beach, where you can admire the beach huts, paddle in the shallows, and relax on the sand. Gorgeous Abersoch is just seven minutes away by car, too. 

If you’re feeling active, you might lace up your hiking boots and set off on the Llanbedrog walking trail to Mynydd Tir-y-Cwmwd. You’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Cardigan Bay and the peninsula. When you return to the cottage, you can rest your weary muscles in the fabulous hot tub. Sip Champagne as you soak in the bubbles and relax. When the sun has set, you’ll be treated to wonderfully clear skies for stargazing. 

The cottage itself has all the charm of a period property, but it’s been brought up to date so you can look forward to luxurious touches. When you’re not soaking in the hot tub, you might be curled up in front of the log burner. There’s also a cute beach hut in the garden where you can dine, having fired up the barbecue for dinner. It’s practically impossible to leave here feeling anything less than completely blissed out.

Just a short walk away, sea and surf await you on the shores of Cardigan Bay. With traditional village pubs dotted along the route down, it would be a shame not to stop off for a drink on the way back. But as evening draws in, be sure to head back home – the hot tub is the place to be as the sun sets.

This home in the charming coastal village is Abersoch is strikingly modern, with sleek glass dominating the facade, all the better to take in that sea view. You’re within walking distance of the beach – the soft sand of Abersoch Bay is three minutes on foot. If you want something more grand and sweeping than the harbour-side beach, head to Porth Neigwl, a six-minute drive away. The home itself has some serious wow-factor, starting with the hot tub in the garden and plush rattan sofa set on the patio, perfect for evening cocktails or barbecue lunch. Inside, you’ll find the main living room on the top floor, taking advantage of a view over the village out to where the fishing boats bob out at sea. It’s part of an open-plan living area that spreads across the whole top floor, all natural light from walls of glass and sleek eave angles. Bedrooms are all on the ground floor, with the master opening up to the private garden.

This breezy bungalow is the definition of contemporary coastal, with its natural textiles, soothing blue and white colour scheme and seaside-inspired decorations. It's as relaxing as it looks, especially the cosy living area – on chilly evenings, curl up by the fire after sharing a family meal around the dining table. Cooking is anything but a chore in the modern kitchen, and the bi-fold doors are a real treat – when the weather is nice, you can step straight into the sun-soaked garden and relax or dine alfresco. We suggest enjoying breakfast in the morning light before heading out for a day on the coast. Pack a picnic and hit the beach – National Trust's Llanbedrog Beach is a twelve-minute walk away, while Abersoch and Pwllheli are less than a ten-minute drive if you'd like to switch things up. After an afternoon splashing in the water and wandering the coastal paths, enjoy a pint and delicious bites at the two pubs in town – both are family-friendly and are a short stroll from home.

It’s all about open living downstairs, and each room flows into the next. Glass double doors open out onto the back patio, complete with a barbecue and dining table for al fresco meals.

Gather everyone together for family meals at the fourteen-seater dining table, or curl up in the living room for a movie. While the living areas have a cool, contemporary feel, upstairs prioritises comfort and cosiness, as well as unbeatable vistas – curl up on the chaise longue in the master bedroom for the best view down to the sea. Set across three floors, there’s plenty of space for everyone.

The house is in the heart of Abersoch, just a five minute stroll from the main beach, a sheltered expanse of golden sand with water that the kids can paddle in. There's plenty of nearby activities for everyone to get involved in, from watersports, surfing and fishing, to practising your swing on the eighteen-hole course at Abersoch golf club, a seven-minute walk from the house.

This coastal home sits within beautiful grounds at the entrance to the village of Abersoch, making it an ideal setting for seaside escapes. The uninterrupted sea views are undoubtedly the star of the show here, and they can be enjoyed from inside and out. We love the flower-filled garden, and the front terrace with its table and chairs – it’s a stunning spot for afternoon tea. Inside, you’ll find high ceilings and antique furniture. Given that it’s a period home, it’s unsurprising that some of the decor is a little dated – it won’t appeal to everyone.

When we say this is a historic home, we really mean it. A Roman bathhouse is said to have once stood here, and the current house could be the oldest in the county of Gwynedd – it dates back to around 1543. There are period features everywhere, from the inglenook fireplace to the traditional wooden beams and even an arrow-slit-style window. The garden is just as magical and makes a lovely spot for mealtimes or a relaxing glass of wine while admiring the bluebells. A pond, plenty of trees and a small stream, make it a haven for local wildlife too.

Snowdonia is a twenty minute drive away, where adventurous types can climb hills and ride through jaw-dropping natural mountain biking trails and valleys to their heart’s content. Dwyfor Rabbit Farm delivers fun family activities where you can feed the bunnies. Take a walk along the golden sand, spruced with pebbles and a rocky area that lines Criccieth beaches, exposing rock pools at low tide. Come home for a soak in the Victorian tub, a warm drink by the fire, and then climb into the antique French bed to dream about the days to come.

If exploring is on the agenda, lace up your hiking boots and follow the Wales Coastal Path to Pwllheli or stay local and take the ten-minute amble into the heart of town for indie shops and fantastic seafood eateries. Surfing enthusiasts should make a beeline for Hell’s Mouth, a seven-minute drive away – keep an eye out for Bottlenose dolphins as you carve through the waves. When the day draws to a close, head back to your pad for a chilled glass of wine as the sun starts to set and an early night in the cosy bedrooms, ready to do it all again tomorrow.

You’ll be in the heart of Abersoch village, a charming harbour town where fishing boats bob in the water and beach cafés line the shore. If you like your beaches long and practically deserted, it’s an eight-minute drive to Porth Neigwl. The cottage itself is fishing-village white on the outside and has a handful of balconies and terraces all facing the beautiful sea view. There’s a walled patio with an outdoor fire for chilly evenings and a dining table on the terrace for sunny days. That’s not to mention the glass-fronted balcony that looks out over the boats in the harbour too. Inside, it’s cottage-chic with wooden floors and nautical decor touches – driftwood fireplaces and anchor cushions. The main living area is open plan, on the ground floor, where a living room is set around an electric stove and the big breakfasting table is set for six. Upstairs, a more formal living room opens up onto the top terrace with views out over the harbour below.
