One of the funkiest former grain stores we ever did see, this little home is part of a farm in the countryside just outside Pwllheli. Lovingly converted with a great deal of flair and imagination, it's far from your usual holiday home. Upcycled furniture, industrial pieces and pops of colour mix with natural wood, leather and slate. The ground floor living space is cosy and quirky, with a log burner, beamed ceilings and an open staircase. Cook up family meals in the fully kitted-out kitchen and choose to eat indoors or out in the private garden. There's so much to love about this place, but we particularly like the wet room, with its rain shower, light tunnel and penguins hiding in the built-in shelves, and the pretty garden with its fun seating areas. With the owners just next door, make use of the gym, make friends with the farm animals and cook on the fire pit in the evenings. It's just a ten-minute drive into the town, with loads more to see and do nearby, from walking and horse riding to playing on the sandy beaches.

As we drove down the lane and saw the sea views appear, we knew we were in for a treat with this lovely home. Initially three fisherman's cottages, this place has been skillfully converted to create a fantastic family home.

We adore the sea vistas as well as the outlook over Porthdinllaen Beach, Nefyn's headland golf course, the boats in the harbour and Anglesey from the 2-acre garden and terrace, perfect for alfresco dining. You can enjoy the seascape from the vast windows inside too. Use the telescope to watch the boats on the ocean and the sea birds fishing, then whip up some seafood and laverbread in the large kitchen with its French doors opening to the garden.

If you fancy a day on the area's golden sands, bask in the sun on Porthdinllaen Beach, just over a ten-minute drive away, or head to the nearby Amgueddfa Forwrol Llŷn Maritime Museum.

What could be more romantic than a tiny cottage in the country? This pretty little home on the Llyn Peninsula is surprisingly modern thanks to its recent refurbishment. Comfortable and stylish, it's the perfect retreat for couples trying to get away from it all. Set in a secluded rural area, with great walking on your doorstep, it's about as far from the madding crowd as it gets. There's a lawned garden and little deck to enjoy the views from, and inside you'll find a log burner to warm up even the chilliest of evenings. The building retains character features like a vaulted ceiling, beams and a mezzanine level, but it's been smartly modernised to provide an open-plan living space with a fabulous kitchen and breakfast bar, as well as a cosy seating area with patio doors to bring the outside in. And our favourite part must be the en-suite bathroom with its contemporary bath and walk-in rain shower. Special touches like the robes, slippers and a welcome pack of goodies make this place a real treat. Less than a fifteen-minute drive to Pwllheli, and ten to Abersoch, there are loads of great beaches, village pubs and local shops to explore nearby.

This lovely 18th-century blacksmith’s cottage makes for a wonderful holiday home. It’s in a quiet location on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula, so you’re guaranteed a serene break but you’re within easy reach of plenty of attractions. There are countless small towns and villages to explore nearby, and you’re right on the coast. It takes fifteen minutes to stroll along to Llanbedrog Beach, where you can admire the beach huts, paddle in the shallows, and relax on the sand. Gorgeous Abersoch is just seven minutes away by car, too. 

If you’re feeling active, you might lace up your hiking boots and set off on the Llanbedrog walking trail to Mynydd Tir-y-Cwmwd. You’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Cardigan Bay and the peninsula. When you return to the cottage, you can rest your weary muscles in the fabulous hot tub. Sip Champagne as you soak in the bubbles and relax. When the sun has set, you’ll be treated to wonderfully clear skies for stargazing. 

The cottage itself has all the charm of a period property, but it’s been brought up to date so you can look forward to luxurious touches. When you’re not soaking in the hot tub, you might be curled up in front of the log burner. There’s also a cute beach hut in the garden where you can dine, having fired up the barbecue for dinner. It’s practically impossible to leave here feeling anything less than completely blissed out.

We love this home's interior. It exudes warmth and comfort, with a country-style kitchen that'll delight any home chef. But really, our favourite bit of this charming home is the suntrap of a garden. Surrounded by lush greenery, with a sweet converted shed at the bottom of the garden. And to top it all off, your bubbling hot tub awaits – submerge into its warm, muscle-soothing waters after a day exploring the area's many cycling and hiking trails. When you're not tucking into barbecue dinners in the garden or relaxing in the hot tub, you'll be cosy on the plush sofa, sipping on a glass of red wine in front of the crackling fire, watching a film on Netflix.

If you like gardening, there’s a garden centre, with a café within walking distance, while the Wales Coast Path and Abererch Beach are 2.4 miles away. You don’t have to go anywhere for stunning views – a bench at the front of the cottage lovers over Cardigan Bay or take a seat in the private patio area, have a slice of complimentary cake and admire the vistas over to Snowdonia. This stone-built cottage is semi-detached and some of the lawned areas are shared, so you may not have the place totally to yourself though.

Inside, you’ll find the main living room on the top floor, taking advantage of a view over the village out to where the fishing boats bob out at sea. This cute little cottage makes the most of its location right on the seafront. It’s just steps away from a small sandy bay where the sea laps at the shore of the Llyn Peninsula. You’ll be in the heart of Abersoch village, a charming harbour town where fishing boats bob in the water and beach cafés line the shore. If you like your beaches long and practically deserted, it’s an eight-minute drive to Porth Neigwl. The cottage itself is fishing-village white on the outside and has a handful of balconies and terraces all facing the beautiful sea view. There’s a walled patio with an outdoor fire for chilly evenings and a dining table on the terrace for sunny days. That’s not to mention the glass-fronted balcony that looks out over the boats in the harbour too. Inside, it’s cottage-chic with wooden floors and nautical decor touches – driftwood fireplaces and anchor cushions. The main living area is open plan, on the ground floor, where a living room is set around an electric stove and the big breakfasting table is set for six. Upstairs, a more formal living room opens up onto the top terrace with views out over the harbour below.

A two-minute walk from the fine sands and shallow water of Abersoch Harbour Beach, this home is perfect for a family or group of friends looking for a modern seaside escape. Inside, light and space are cleverly maximised – we loved the open-plan living area with its enormous windows and double-height ceilings. Your mornings begin here with a coffee on the comfortable sofa before choosing to breakfast on one of the sun trap balconies. 

If exploring is on the agenda, lace up your hiking boots and follow the Wales Coastal Path to Pwllheli or stay local and take the ten-minute amble into the heart of town for indie shops and fantastic seafood eateries. Surfing enthusiasts should make a beeline for Hell’s Mouth, a seven-minute drive away – keep an eye out for Bottlenose dolphins as you carve through the waves. When the day draws to a close, head back to your pad for a chilled glass of wine as the sun starts to set and an early night in the cosy bedrooms, ready to do it all again tomorrow.

When we say this is a historic home, we really mean it. A Roman bathhouse is said to have once stood here, and the current house could be the oldest in the county of Gwynedd – it dates back to around 1543. There are period features everywhere, from the inglenook fireplace to the traditional wooden beams and even an arrow-slit-style window. The garden is just as magical and makes a lovely spot for mealtimes or a relaxing glass of wine while admiring the bluebells. A pond, plenty of trees and a small stream, make it a haven for local wildlife too.

Snowdonia is a twenty minute drive away, where adventurous types can climb hills and ride through jaw-dropping natural mountain biking trails and valleys to their heart’s content. Dwyfor Rabbit Farm delivers fun family activities where you can feed the bunnies. Take a walk along the golden sand, spruced with pebbles and a rocky area that lines Criccieth beaches, exposing rock pools at low tide. Come home for a soak in the Victorian tub, a warm drink by the fire, and then climb into the antique French bed to dream about the days to come.
