If you're looking for a seaside location, then this home certainly delivers that – and so much more. Just a stone's throw away from the beach in The Mumbles, it's a wonderful spot packed with fantastic amenities for all the family to enjoy. 

The huge windows frame the beautiful vistas outside, while the chic, modern decor allows the views to take centre stage. On chilly evenings, you can light up the fire and get cosy with a cup of tea and a good book. And, when the sun is shining, you'll want to make the most of the fabulous outdoor space. Head up to the terrace for a glass of wine and some local Welsh cheese as you gaze out across the water. Then, make sure you take a dip in the outdoor hot tub – it's the perfect place to relax after a day of adventures. 

Kids and adults alike will love paddling and eating ice cream on the sandy beach just a couple of streets away. Make sure you pay a visit to the impressive Victorian pier, and treat yourself to some tasty locally caught seafood in one of the nearby restaurants. And, if you hop in the car, you can discover plenty more beautiful beaches and clifftop walks along the crumbling coastline of the Gower Peninsula.

Tuck in at the dining table by the patio door, or if you're fancying an alfresco experience, enjoy a delicious plate of food on the patio itself under the sun. The patio is a wonderful spot to crack open a bottle of wine as you watch the sunset, bathing in the amber glow as you listen to the hum of the nearby ocean.

Spend a day at Limeslade Bay where you can dip your toes in the water and relax on the sand, paired with a refreshingly cool beverage. Explore the coastline as you make your way to the exciting Victorian Mumbles Pier, built in 1989 with a fishing platform and boathouse.

The home’s crowning glory is its large terrace with vistas of the bay and a patio table and chair which create the ideal spot for leisurely breakfasts, afternoon teas with plates of Welsh cakes, or dining alfresco on warmer evenings. 

Leading down from this terrace is the shared garden which provides direct access to a coastal path and the beach beyond. Langland Bay – which is characterised by its rows of colourful beach huts – is a hotspot for kayaking, paddle boarding, and surfing. Plus, there are beautiful walks along the Wales Coastal path. What’s more, a day out in Mumbles to stroll along the pier is just a short drive away. So, whether you’re looking for water-bound adventures or just taking in the stunning seaside scenery, this home can offer it all.

Offering uninterrupted views over Limeslade Bay, this beautiful apartment is an ideal base for those looking to enjoy the delights of the Gower Peninsula and its many natural wonders. 

While there’s a climb to reach the home on the third floor, it’s more than worth the effort when met with the striking vistas stretching just outside your picture windows. Make yourself comfortable on the plump sofa with a book and mug of tea – pausing now and then to take in the majesty of your locale – before gathering for a celebratory meal at the window-side table while the sun sets over the water below. At night, the king-size bed beckons a seamless night’s sleep, sure to leave you rested and ready for another day of sightseeing. 

Speaking of exploring, take a stroll around the building’s terraced garden, then saunter along the coastal path to Rotherslade (about twenty minutes) where there’s a charming beachside cafe. Our recommendation? Grab a cone from Forte’s Ice Cream Parlour and stroll to Bracelet Bay (nine minutes) before continuing on to Mumbles Pier (twelve minutes) and Mumbles Beach (twenty minutes).

You’ll find this modern lodge a ten-minute walk from the heart of the Mumbles, a bustling fishing village on the Gower Peninsula. Inside the home, there’s a welcoming living space with a soft L-shaped sofa for reclining in the evening and a fully-equipped kitchen for rustling up Welsh-inspired dinners – if you haven’t made a reservation at a superb sea-front restaurant, that is. 

Spend sunny mornings breakfasting on the decking before slapping on your sun cream and exploring the coast. Rotherslade Bay is just a six-minute walk from your doorstep, while Mumbles Beach is a fifteen-minute stroll away. If you’re keen to explore a little further a field, jump in the car and head over to Swansea for fish and chips on the promenade and a mosey around the peaceful Clyne Gardens.

This wonderful apartment will have the whole family singing its praises after a stay. Located on the ground floor of a large Victorian house, it's the ideal place to call home during a stay on the Gower Peninsul, one of Wales' best-loved spots. 

The house retains much of its original character – you'll love the period fireplaces, patterned floor tiles, and huge bay window that frames the gorgeous sea views. On sunny days, you can head outside for a closer look and sip a cup of coffee on the patio while the kids explore the sprawling shared gardens. When you get hungry, you can whip up your favourite dishes in the kitchen to share around the handsome dining table. And, there's no better way to round off an evening than with a singsong around the baby grand piano, or a tune on the Victorian harmonium. 

From here, you can join the coastal path to wander down into the heart of The Mumbles and treat yourself to an ice cream on the beach. Make sure you pay a visit to the historic pier then sip a pint of local ale in one of the charming pubs. And, if you walk in the opposite direction, you'll find plenty of wonderful sandy coves, including Caswell Bay and Pwll Du Beach.

Right outside the window, the wild Atlantic stretches before you at this cosy little cottage on Swansea Bay. It’s in Mumbles, a seaside suburb with a Victorian pier, a long sweep of sandy beach and a medieval castle. We’re not exaggerating when we say the beach is mere footsteps away, just across the road. From here, you can follow the traffic-free walking path along the coast to Swansea, or to the wild headland in the other direction.

Returning to this cottage after a brisk seaside walk is a delight, especially with the electric fireplace glowing in the living room. You can watch the waves from the comfy sofa, thanks to the big sash window in the living room. There’s a dining table in here too, or you can opt for the more casual breakfast table in the full kitchen. Upstairs, the sea view continues in plush bedrooms and the loft landing is home to a bean-bag-strewn hang-out den. The piece de resistance is the private walled garden out the back with a cute wrought-iron dining set for an evening tipple in the sun.

This apartment punches far above its weight as a romantic bolthole with undeniably great beach views on the doorstep of one of Wales' most famous areas of natural beauty. We love the master bathroom – the marble adds a classy touch, and you can enjoy a relaxing bath while the sun shines through the skylight. Step out onto the balcony in the mornings to take in the breathtaking views while listening to the waves crash against the shore and breathing in the salty sea air, all while sipping a cup of coffee.

When the season’s right, surfers can grab their boards and head down to the water and sunbathers can bask on the golden sand (with a little prayer to the weather gods first, this is Wales after all). The nearby Langland Brasserie and Surfside cafe are both within walking distance or stay at home and cook up a romantic feast for two, the choice is yours. End the evening by watching the sunset from your balcony while sipping a glass of champagne.

With Mumbles' beautiful beach just 50 metres from your door and its characterful coffee shops and galleries even closer, the setting of this charming fisherman’s cottage is hard to beat. After a little more bustle? The centre of Swansea is just a short drive away. Although with a cosy fire waiting back at this dog-friendly cottage, you might decide to stay put. If we're being picky, there’s only one bathroom and not much of a garden to speak of here other than a small backyard. But with the beach so close, we don’t think you’ll mind.

About five minutes' walk from the Mumbles seafront, this cottage is exactly the sort of cosy place you'll look forward to returning to after a long day out in the open air.

If you're here during the warmer months, you can sit outside and watch the sky go through its daily transformation from the terrace, but if it's too cold to even think about doing that, you can hunker down next to the wood burner in the open-concept living area or luxuriate in the bathtub instead.

The design throughout is classy and uncomplicated, with smart wooden floors, wooden furnishings and chic tiling in both the kitchen and bathroom doing all the heavy lifting. Sometimes, you really don't need to go over the top with it.

When it comes to seeing a little more of the local area, you can reach plenty of attractions on foot, including Oystermouth Castle four minutes away and Rotherslade Bay taking about a quarter of an hour. Even closer than both of those, there's a fish and chips shop at the end of the road, which is sure to come in handy when you're not in the mood to cook.

Just when you think you've seen everything when it comes to interior design, you're presented with a kitchen complete with illuminated art installation centred around a large rock and you're rendered a little speechless. It shouldn't work, but we have to admire the chutzpah – you won't be short of conversation starters with guests at least.

Aside from this curio, the Victorian cottage is fairly conventional. There's a minimalist approach to decoration, with a strict colour palette of white and blue, plus only the bare necessities when it comes to furnishings – although there are a few eye-catching pieces, including the modern dining set.

The home benefits from a small terrace with some seating, but there are plenty of coastal attractions to explore nearby if the weather's on your side. Mumbles Beach is all of two minutes' walk away, but there are some more scenic seaside spots that are easily reachable on foot – Rothersalde Bay takes twenty minutes, for instance. Mumbles Pier is a quarter of an hour's walk away, too.
